my bad, it's TRS then. I specifically have them made for this occasion, and I specifically requested balanced.

Thanks for detailed reply, Sibob. Well, as a matter of fact, I do have TS -> XLR cables custom made for running DI out of Stomp! I'm not exactly sure, how I'd hear it in this particular scenario? Thank you. Overall, I hear it kind of defeats the necessity of obtaining such a DI, merely because of the groundloop function it wins against Stomp's DI.. PS What a lovely board you got there!

I've found this stereo Radial JDI passive stereo DI available. Would that noticeably improve my active bass & Moog Little Phatty's live sound instead of using my HX Stomp's balanced outs? I know Stomp has pretty damn good outs already. If's it will give like 10% margin difference tops, I don't wanna bother. I play lots of live and I'm always afraid running Stomp's DI to get Phantom power fed and Stomp fried.. Thank you.

Hey there, Thanks for your reply, fair points I see. I currently only own a 5-Jazz which got me through everything. I was wanting to add something for a change, and I'm an active eq proponent, so this Bongo felt like a nice addition, but since that P+H popped out for less money, I started having second thoughts. Unfortunately, P's only four strings, and I'm a 5 player, and, considering everyone's impressions on it, looks like the MM5 is a better way to, at least where I'm going, which is heavy pop-rnb kind of stuff.

Wow, Misdee, thank you for such a detailed reply, exactly what I was looking for.
-
Well, it's a bit of a stereotype you 'need' this or that on a gig. I'm not doing studio work, I'm a touring sideman, and these days most of work is done on keybass, rather than electric. Actually, last tour I did, I didn't even bring an electric to it.

That's what I was thinking, Lozz, thanks!

That makes sense. With the Fender, I was kind of hoping to kill two birds with one stone, since it looks it got a H at the bridge..

So, just as I was ready to pull a trigger on a 5MM BONGO, this turned up to our local shop for around a thousand quid: It's a American Deluxe P with active pre, made in 2007. I was ready to get myself a MM5 Bongo (1400), but now I'm thinking, which one of these axes is more versatile? I'm doing session pop work, and I already have a Mayones Jabba 5 Jazz in my arsenal, so "jazz" side of things is covered - I'd like myself something different and modern at the same time. I'm not a particular fan of P, tbh, but it could be interesting for a change.. Opinions, go.
-
Could you elaborate on that? You mean the G string just snaps off its place at the nut? My Jabba was also prominent in G string issues (tuning peg, not sitting properly when mounting string)
-
I've had 18v pre's before - I remember them eating batteries for breakfast, but, yeah, they are very versatile things with huge headroom. Thats good. As for shape and colour, I like the quirkyness of it, though, this particular colour is infamous in my country (there's this old infamous singer/bassplayer, who got exact same bass, and everyone already says its 'his' bass.. )
-
What do you like about them in particular?
-
I see. I'm just curious if it will provide me with a different sound pallete than an active J with Aggie OBP-3 can. Having said that, can I expect 3-band eq on Bongo pre?

Hey BC folks, I've got this put on sale by my friend locally. I think I held it in my hands for like 30 seconds, all I remember was action was too high.. I'm not an MM expert by any means, so I need Basschat's help - what can I expect from this bass sonic-wise, tech-wise? I'm a session bass-player, doing exclusively pop/rnb stuff, so I need a comfortable ride, modern sound (mid-heavy) and good EQ capabilities on hand. What preamps do these Bongo's usually feature? Can I expect versatility from these pups? How its different from an active Jazz Bass? It is priced at 1400 quid - is the price fair for this instrument? I'm looking forward to your opinions - it will join alongside my trusted Mayones Jabba 5 Jazz Bass! Thank you
-
Oh yeah, Cremonas are pretty common over here.. Thank you, guys, a wonderful bunch, as always!

Hey, BC folks, It's been a while. I've spotted this locally for 300 bucks. Could someone identify what the heck is this, and if it got any worth? Thank you, Faithless

POST MALONE bud Light Dive Bar Tour Show 2018 BAND???
Faithless replied to Faithless's topic in General Discussion
It's the same guy playing here on bass. Devon on drums as well, I think. Though, I think that the Bud show in 2018 was better- the bass player doesnt cut in this show, and, well, the guitar is way more in tune in 2018' show than here, lol. -
