1. Nice collection. Your Columbus reminds me of my early 70s Antoria
2. Yes but not for a while. This is my hobby so I have the rule I have to enjoy it. If it's a big issue you may have to address it but if you can tolerate him than it's no issue
3. I'm no expert but I would have thought that is quite good. You would pay more for a full blown refinish
4. I've usually found GAK to be pretty good but that said I have taken to phoning ahead these days if ever I'm in a hurry. I know it defeats the point but that's what happens when you've had your fingers burned in the past. Personally on stuff like strings I prefer buying from my local shop. You pay a bit more but they are there for the emergencies. I'd probably cancel the order on this occasion
5. I ordered it last night so I'll let you know in a couple of days
6. Pretty much as the thread says really. I know there was some excitement around the tiny terror heads but these little combos look like fun for those on a budget. http://www.soundsliveshop.com/p/Orange_Cru...0BXT/OR-CR50BXT Just for mucking about really & acoustic jams. I bought on looks, I'm sure it's hideously overpriced in some eyes but it just screamed retro cool to me
7.
To be honest I don't have a clue, was hoping for some suggestions! Would take £180 including postage.
Missed the boat again! Oh well, I hadn't checked in and would have bought this on the day of listing had I seen the update. I'm sure somebody will be very happy.
8. Some great shots of some great looking gear - welcome to Basschat
9. I was admiring the Area 51 pup online just yesterday. Can't say I've heard it but it looks awesome. Happy to be proven wrong but the SD pups are really good and I do wonder whether the difference would be worth the cost - or even if there is that big a difference? I tend to favour the SPB-1 and the Antiquity pups for my playing though (although I am familar with the SPB-3).
10. I too lean towards the amp. If the bass is a set up away from being nore to your tastes then sort the amp. Plus you can sell your current one on to make cash
11. I have the same head, 1978 model. Been looking to get a small cab myself to modify - very cool
12. I'd love one but the problem is that I bagged my Ampeg 1x15 for a mere £100 (thanks BC) so it's finding a similar good deal.
13. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
14. I like it a lot, especially the subtle Star Wars touch
15. A couple of references to the 50s classic but worth remebering this is not a standard MIM bass. Expect to pay more & expect a similar jump in quality like what you get with a standard Squier & a VM Squier. I really rate them but not everyone likes the traditional feel
16.
So why contribute to a thread entitled: "post your pedalboard?" It might be the sleep deprivation and accompanying paranoia but that seems intentionally antagonizing. I don't surf, but I wouldn't go on a surfing forum and tell them all how pointless their surfboards are.
I'm certainly not criticising other players at all. I like effects but keep it simple myself. I think you are reading too much into this. I'm probably posting a lot more at the moment to keep my mind from the treatment (chemotheraphy) I'm going through at the moment, not looking to pick fights. Some great looking set ups here. Peace
17.
My three boys together... With these basses, i can do anything. 2007 Mexi Classic 50's Precision White Blonde. 1983 'SQ' Prefix Squier Japan Precision (Badass II Bridge) 3 Colour Sunburst. 2007 Japan PB62 in Old Lake Placid Blue.
Great looking basses Andy
18. I found it mildly annoying when I had a few messages when looking for a bass but generally it's all much more preferable to getting loads of spam. I just go and refresh the new posts and look at those whilst I wait
19. That's too bad. I wondered if he sensed something. I hope it all works out in the end
20. I already got my fantasy Xmas present
21. The Fender CIJ Blue Flower & Pink Paisley designs are basswood. I quite like it
22. I've not been bothering so much recently but here is a recent effort from The Betsy Trotwood in London
23.
Here's another great pic of a Precision. And Ginger Reyes from Smashing Pumpkins...
I need to keep up, I thought she was in the Halo Friendlies
24. An up to date shot of from the sofa of my P-basses (l-r) Fender Precision 51RI CIJ 2009, Fender Precision 57RI MIJ 1989, Fender Precision USA 60th Anniversary model and a Fender Precision 1978 USA
