I might be on my own here but I quite like it. I prefer the blue to the relic job & of course his wording could be better.

Thanks Hamster & cheers guys. I assume the Hagstrom comes as a 4 string too as that is what Randy was playing? I know what you mean WoT - I think because he played it on a TV gig the photos from that set are common

I'm watching an old Eagles bootleg and he is playing this which I'm always seeing him pictured with. It looks like a JapCrap Fender copy headstock but an Epiphone body. Anyone know what it is?

That's hard to top! We turned down playing the US at SXSW as it would have cost us too much and we wouldn't have recouped the loss. However the band starts gigging again in 2wks having been on hold for 2 months due to my chemo. We have a few gigs lined up across England and the plan is for a couple of short tours of places like Scotland. We're recording our second album and working towards making SXSW possible for 2011. I also want to develop my playing a bit this year. I'm really positive about 2010. Should be a good 'un

Here here Telebass! I have a few issues with the quality control on some of Fenders cheaper telecasters & hate the modern bridge on the USA ones but on bass the bridge is fine on mine and I see no point in getting a badass. The teles were different as they twang and chime better with a nice bridge plate but all the quality on my Fender basses has been great.

There's no hard and fast rule about action. It would help to know if you have a specific problem or if you are just curious. Some like it low and even don't mind a bit of buzz (as long as it doesn't go through the amp when amplified) where as others are quite happy with a high action. It also depends on the style you are playing as to what your personal preference is.

Never been personally but we played similar venues all over the UK.

I quite like Epiphone basses and had a few earlier on in the last decade. I had the EB3 over the EB0 as I'm just shy of 6'3" so thought I'd look odd with a short scale bass. I like the look of these though. I did find the pickups ranged from really good (Jack Casady, thunderbird etc) to quite poor (Flying V) on the ones I had. Still I like the back to basics vibe of the EB0

I don't reckon I play their stuff more than twice a year now (although I saw the reformed band a handful of times from 2002-9) but it was a big appeal as to why I got playing. I liked the bass lines in old tv shows too & my parents records had some great players on them but it was that scene that finally kick started it for me.

I could reference the cooler aspects of my parents record collection whilst growing up but it was the late 80s sleaze / glam scene (especially The Quireboys) that finally made me want to play. I always thought the bass players were the cool ones
