Hello Mark, nothing really changed to be honest. Still on FEEBay at £700 BIN (plus courier costs). Not really bumping it here as seems little interest, even though for the reason of fees etc it is still £100 cheaper here (plus courier costs). I allowed quite a lot for this when I got it so really won't be going any cheaper. Part of that allowance was because of the costs of the mods (over £200) but I wouldn't expect to get that back. However, other Glaubs have gone on here for £600 and more, so I think I am asking a fair amount. Especially with a Gator hardcase included in the price. Guess by the fact it's still here others must disagree Oh it will very probably be at The Flying Shuttle in Bury on Saturday night.
Wow, is this a north/south thing?!! I'm just trying to keep the cost down and I'm not in a hurry to sell! If for 800 I can get you a hard case and ship it, then I'll do it with pleasure. I have UPS coming on Saturday for another bass. But not in a gig bag, I've seen it go wrong before so I won't take the chance. Cheers!
Nope, just a bit of light hearted banter It is frustrating though that so many good basses can not be couriered. Bump. -

See, I know all you lads in London have a tough time. None of you appear to be in a position to go to a guitar shop and buy a £15 cheap padded gig bag. Or scrounge a large cardboard box from Halfords. Or get some bubble wrap from the Post Office or B and Q. I can only presume that London has none of these outlets, unlike us in the Arctic Circle (or Lancashire I believe some call it). Seriously though Chiliwailer, it's not a pop at you, it's just it happens SO often that folk down south can not courier basses. At least you ACKNOWLEDGED the post. I do wish you good luck with your sale, but you are one of three currently that I may well have spent around £800 with, but not if I am expected to do a 400 mile round trip as well. Bump. -

How did he upset the Mrs this much!!!
karlfer replied to itsmedunc's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Perhaps I'm just naive, but a bass with that much paint missing? I would expect the back of the neck to show a lot more wear than that one is! -
Yeh, it's a Stealth II. Seems a shame for the seller. Going to go for a song just because he can't be bothered putting a new tuner on it and a new set of strings.
Looking at it, he appears to be some kind of pawn broker?

If you couriered you would open this bass up to the other 70% of the population Edit. Sorry, they haven't started making them again, they afre discontinued. The few that are left, whilst pricey, are actually getting sold off for LESS than they were retailing for. So, the pricey is now actually, er , cheaper than they were. Or put another way, this is a bargain!

For that money it should be built in Paradise by 4 breasted maidens! Who come with it.
After a little digging, the floatation is to raise cash to pay off Fender's current debts of $246m. Who knows what management decisions brought them to this state or what crazy things they'll do trying to get out of it! Buy your US Fenders now, while you can!!
Or wait for the fire sale?

Barefaced/GKMB500/US Precision,doesn't sound right
karlfer replied to karlfer's topic in Amps and Cabs
Which manual Alex? I asked here because there are a lot of enthusiastic users and I know you are always run off your feet trying to keep up with demand! I always have the limiter on, the clip/pad light doesn't come on. The Jazz sounds marvellous through it, as does the Lakland. Tonight the P pup will be attacked with measuring stick and screwdriver, but really it's going to be Sat night before I can gig-experiment. Absolutely pointless in the little spare bedroom. I am starting to think a combination of pup adjustment and using the gain/master differently to how GK suggest in the handbook may bring about a solution. For a long time gig volume on previous amps was achieved by setting gain to just clip, backing off a touch then setting master, but this is not what the GK handbook recommends. Finally, we were playing the Fox and Goose in Southport on Saturday night, when I was struggling. For the first time in the 30+ gigs I have used this, a young bass player wandered over at the end and said "Is that a Super 12". "Yes" beamed I. "Sounds great" sayeth he. "Cheers" sayeth I. 5 minutes later the drummer berated me for being a bitching old git. -

karlfer replied to karlfer's topic in Amps and Cabs
Actually re- reading this has given even more food for thought. I have slavishly followed the instruction booklet, ie, master at 3pm, gain to suit, usually around 8/8.30pm and contour thing off. Our gig Saturday coming is one of the less bust ones, so will have a live prat about before the sound check. There won't be too many to upset at that time. -

Thanks folks, lot of stuff to have a look at there. I'll start with the pup I think. With this amp, every bass sounded superb through the Schro. Worst comes to the worse, I'll just use a jazz -
OK. I was going to remove this last week when I returned from selling the Geddy. By the time I got home, there were two offers on the table. I have not bumped/commented on the thread as I was kinda letting it die for a while. Currently Neil's offer of full price/meet at Hartshead is the one I will take IF I decide to sell this. I am giving the Glaub a bit more time to sell as I would far prefer to sell that than this one. Everybody who has made offers has been told this. So, to answer the question , sorry but not up for trades. However I wish that Dakota Red would sell as that continues to tempt me to just sell this.
If you like the 1126, then the D2126 is pure heaven. I've ordered two of them with the same appearance as this one: It will have the same black/crème vinyl, but the old brown cloth like on old Fender Tweeds, also two "TV screens" per cabinet front. I post pic's when I get them delivered...
Oh Lordy, a 212 that looks like this Barefaced for sale, mine!

So I have a Super12V, gk mb500. US jazz sounds bloody marvellous at a gig, with just leaving everything flat, except bass to about 1 o'clock.. My 2012 US Precision doesn't though. Not farting out exactly, but an unpleasant low distortion. Last night, bass rolled back to about 9o'clock on the amp, low mids back to 11 0'clock, high mids about 1 o'clock, treble 1 o'clock. I put the contour thing on at about 12 o'clock and that helped a bit. But still too much unpleasant bass and if I rolled the tone up on the bass itself it got very harsh and trebly. Kindoff at my wits end with this as I really prefer playing the P. Bad Co to Metallica/Maiden pub band, 40 or more gigs pa.. Any ideas gratefully accepted, BEFORE I sell it and go back to lovely Schroeder The amp handbook isn't much help as it gives recommendations for 2 pup basses. Thanks in advance for any guidance peeps, cheers, Karl.

Why did you have to put up more pictures, do you not realise how weak I am? This bass is so attractive to me because it is the Antigua colour I remember from being a young man. The ReIssues last year were fabulous basses, but to me they were not the Antigua I remembered, and sadly loved. Ok, at the risk of me doing something stupid, what is the weight on this please, and what is the action like? Cheers, Karl. Bump. edited for spelling as usual. -
