1.
How is this still here? Tom- sell the neck and use the funds to buy a 41mm slim profile from Musikraft! These basses are the dogs.
It's not, on hold pending payment. Many, many thanks for all the interest folks, appreciated and slightly staggering. Cheers, Karl.
2. ANYBODY who doesn't know female friend/relative who doesn't have luggage scales hasn't lived! Female friend/relatives luggage scales > piece of string > bass hung by neck > = bass weight. Seriously though, so many people ask on so many adverts. Me included. GLWTS
3. The perfect bass. What does it weigh please?
4. No contact from cash buyer for 2 days now. Any more before I go for a trade (again). Cheers, Karl.
5. He sold this months ago, he's just not PUT IT IN HIS TITLE.
6. Pleasure Marc I've Now had one cash offer at asking price (to be confirmed) AND [s]16 [/s] , [s]17 [/s] 19, YES 19 basses offered in trade
7. The Dee Dee was modern C Marc, with 41.6mm nut width, this is 44.5 but still a shallow C. It's a good neck, wide compared to the slimmed down modern P, but still easy to play, even for me, who has to try harder with most P necks. As before, very much like the Lakkie Bob Glaub standard neck, which was a bit of a revelation to me, in terms of why people really rated pre CBS Precision necks, despite their dimensions. To be honest, that anodised gold plate is doing my head in. Now, if it was on a WHITE 50's RI Shallow? Moi? It is very unlikely it's going to be around in a few days I'm afraid.
8.
Nice looking bass Karlfer I love my RW Jazz - it's my fave that I've ever played It just feels so worn-in and comfortable, and sounds superb Like the look of this, with the maple fretboard Do you know whether the neck is an older, chunkier type, or is it the more modern C shape / profile? I'm assuming it should be the former... but you never know Fiesta Red is an amazing colour, I've seen RW J & P's in burst but never seen one in Fiesta Red in-the-flesh.... mmm Cheers EDIT: If you were selling this last year, when I was selling my EB MM Stingray I'd have had this in a flash
Cheers Marc. It is a wide neck, classed as "C" profile, but it's quite shallow as well, making it quite easy to play. Very reminiscent of the renowned Lakland Bob Glaub necks, which was based on his '64 I think? Anyway, for a full fat neck it's very comfortable and easy to play.
If this hasn't already gone, I'll happily offer to buy it at the asking price Rich
Rich, pm'd you with chance to meet.
Any trade for a Fender jp90?. [email protected] Thanks.
Radchenko, I replied to your pm yesterday afternoon. Many thanks for your offer. OK, this is unlikely to be here much longer. Rich is first in queue as he wants to buy. FEND3R is second with a great trade up offer. As soon as a deal is confirmed I will put the bass on hold. THANK YOU all so much, I've had [s]12[/s] 13 offers of trade plus one to buy. My fingers are typed out on pm's Cheers, Karl.
9. Not a great photo, but a great little rig. PUMA 900 through 2 Bergantino AE 112's. Light, clear, powerful and more headroom than my skid lid! 10.
Nice bass but its all scratched up mate lol seriously though glwts
40 miles falling off the back of a lorry on the M6 TBird
Mine is a 2008, they are incredible. And very light! I've not heard of the first series being more sought after, but I have picked up a couple of later models and I didn't like them as much as mine.
Just a subjective comment I've come across a couple of times on Basschat and several times on Talkbass. The lower weight of the 1st run does seem to be a common factual observation though. I've had a staggering NINE basses offered for this (between here and Facebook) over night. 3 from one member (very nce chap who is a bit keen ). Whilst I would prefer a sale, a couple of the offers are VERY difficult to say no to. (Dave) All pm's are now replied to, please bear with me folks, never had a response like this, Cheers, Karl.
11. I took this bass in a trade for my second from last unmentionable (obviously not on BC). I really hope this will be the last bass I sell for a GOOD while! Serial is 2008, neck pocket Nov 18th 2008. They were released onto the market Jan 2009. So this is one of the apparently more sought after 1st series? Anyway, light at 8lb 6oz. Good condition but it is a Road Worn, so expect the dint's, scratches etc as per photos. Plays very nice, but not for me. According to Nevada Music, discontinued, but GAK disagree. Anyway, link to spec http://www.gak.co.uk...red-maple/19353 Fender Deluxe gig bag included, both front pocket zips buggered as they always seem to be ! Collection from Wigan preferred, extra £30 for next day insured courier delivery, UK mainland. Cleared cheque, cash on collection or bank transfer please. No PAINPal. My feedback linked at bottom of post. NOW, TRADES (1) I am looking in particular for a US Jazz or US Musicman Sterling (not OLP/RAY34/ Sterling by Musicman. The Jazz and Sterling are going for around £650/£700. Rich sold his Road Worn P last week and that was out at £700 delivered, so please bear this in mind if we end up having a chat. TRADES (2) I have money to trade up if you have something a bit special, kinda custom shop or US Vintage. Worst we can do is fall out . Crap photos time. Cheers, Karl. 12. Ooops, and Paul is a top geezer to deal with as well. Sorry, forgot that bit. See his feedback. Right, I'm rambling now, cup of Glenlivet nursey please.
13. OK, lovely bass, not too heavy, very fair price to buyer and seller (imo). So I'm going to put my road worn P up tonight to try and fund this. So theshape101, you MM will sell approx. 15 minutes before my P does
14. I'm surprised this is still here, even if it did just go up last night. Probably the most stunning bass I've seen, IMO. If I thought it would be around long enough I would be after this. Just beautiful.
15. He hasn't been on the site since June 26th so it's probably gone. Might be best to pm him.
16.
Is this still for sale?
Unlikely, he's not been online since April. Might be best sending him a pm.
17. A "you owe me a beer dude" kinda bump

19. My old girl. Fabulous LOUD amp, Italian made, with a mute. Daisy chain two cabs and hire out for illegal fracking. Bargainus!
20. Erm, yup, I have no doubt of that! Although I'm not a fan of rosewood, I know how good a bass this is and I am desperately tempted. I'm guessing from a thread on a "social media site" a certain maple boarded, green burst multi knobbed (oooh err missus) bit of splendidness is heading your way
21. Well done that man! Means I can put the one I have up next week, with a bit less competition
22. Please take this as constructive advice. It's now a bit of a jumbled, slightly confusing thread. Certainly to an old git like me. Might be an idea to let this thread die, get it locked and start a new one, with pictures actually in the thread, rather than links. Lovely looking bass, great price, less common maple board with MOP style inlays, splendid. The only reason I'm not in is that it is typical Fender Japan weighty Ash pushing 11 lbs. Fabulous for tone, but not old shoulders. Good luck, lovely looking bass.
23. Paul, you MIGHT get a mail from a guy called Nicholas from FB. He is a genuine guy that MAY be interested.
24. Lovely bass and I'm tempted, probably like a good few others. Might be an idea to inform folk if it comes with hard case or gig bag as was asked a little earlier. And total cost for bass/case/shipping to mainland UK. GLWTS
