i was coming at it from a metal players perspective more the slow low kind of metal. for me i found the big muff harsh and skizzy. personally the proco rat is the distortion for me or just go clean

not sure if you could do your ramp thing with it but i just put black gaffer tape over the pole pieces to stop my sweat rusting the pole pieces that might help

your E A and D look like rotosound but rotosound G strings are usually red coloured. maybe the G was a replacement as andy said thats the fender colour on the g

right so full scale, not really bothered about active or passive. im go for a more kinda rocky sound, like an aggresive clean tone. ideally something thats not overly large in the body shape. neck shapes i can adjust to anything

so i have a harley benton p bass that i learned on is gotten in quite the state now, looking about getting something new and was just wondering what recommendations people have for good 5 string basses to look for that i could maybe get for between the £130 to £200 area. id be looking for stuff i can get used as new everythings just too much. cheers, leo.

i always just use rotosounds swings or the 77s at the moment, and im playing with a pick a solid 95% of the time, i use the .73mm dunlop nylons, id just stick with the same strings and jump between fingers and pick just go wiht what feels best and what youre used to id say

i had these a while back and the e was comletely dead and the g was like a rotosound swing, i thought they were utter crap and ended up sending them back and getting a refund

not a capo but if you really want to you cant wrap surgical tube around to work like a capo, you have to tug it tight and knot it round

i think dean markley blue steels used to have grey silks waaaay back when, theyre blue now i think

never tried them never will think they look gross

im not picky to be honest, pun was not intended, but i seem to have a fair few yellow tortexes, and i think i like them but anything will do for me to be honest as long as its not like .5mm or not the normal 351 kinda shape

depending on how long ago you had the blue steels they might be different now, they changed a while back you can tell from the silks changing from grey to light blue. havent ever tried them but ive heard the new blue steels are a bit iffy with qc but i cant say myself

they say mani of the stone roses used them for the 2016 reunion tour on their website, hes my favourite bass player of all time so they must be good, although looking through pictures of the 2016 reunion i dont see the blue silks of elites anywhere, seems to be red which leads me to believe he had rotosound flats on and him using the elites grounds might be bollocks

if you love the nickel lo riders then id just get a higher gauge set

i had some olympia cheap flats a while back that i refunded because the e and a were dead while the d and g were bright, they also looked the same as the one on the right
