  1. hi, id like to start trying to record rough versions of songs ive written, at home. id really like to start a band, i tried asking in my unis music group but nothing came of it so I was thinking if i had some basic recordings of a few songs would be good to add onto an advert. so i was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a microphone would be a decent all rounder for guitar bass and vocals, it would mostly be doom metal so bass and guitar with alot of distortion and id like to try and learn how to sing distorted. ideally something affordable that id be able to get used, hopefully £100 or less that would do an ok job at everything, it doesnt have to sound perfect just ok for demo ey type things. i was thinking about a shure 58, but not sure if it would be better to go for something different thats more instrument focused, ive heard good things about audio technica stuff too. also any recommendations for an affordable interface and whatever other things id need to start recording would be appreciated as well as any advice on programming drums. thanks in advance, leo : )

mines somewhat smaller compared to everyone else... but hey im not ashamed. fernandes lawsuit thing and fender deluxe jazz bass
  3. enlarged the pickup hole and still having the same issue, problem only happens when i screw the pickguard down and when i do so the pickguard between the top of the neck pickup and bottom of the neck bulges upwards. ive attached a picture but its quite hard to see. i think maybe the different pickguard has the pickup route minutely closer to the neck than the original and maybe the bottom of the pickup plate is getting caught on the edge of the pickup route. might try taking a hacksaw to it and cutting off a little bit of the bottom plate when i next go to visit my parents but i think for now i might put the original white pickguard back on.
  4. hi, so i changed the pickguard on my fernandes rb80 rickenbacker copy and i just cant seem to get the neck pickup to sit flat. it was fine with the old pickguard. the pickup is a little tight in the hole in the pickguard but not massively could it be that or would it be crappy springs and lack of foam?
  5. sorry to hear its still not showed up, hopefully you hear something soon! same colours as the fernandes copy i play with the black pickguard / white truss rod cover, although was the pickguard painted black looks like its worn through to white in the picture or is that a sticker?
  6. awesome stuff! if i had a car id really be considering that 2x10

  15. hi, i had a search through pages and couldnt find anything asking this question so apologies if theres already a post but, im looking for a copy of the ampeg sub blaster since they come up for sale so rarely, is the ashdown sub harmonic generator a similar type of octave pedal? as well does anyone have any experience with it in general? thanks, leo
  16. the thin horns remind me a bit of the kramer dmz5000
  17. started with rotos the normal rs66ld set got a set of them with my first bass, when the silk started fraying i decided id stay away from the strings with silk moved on to the rotobass set in 50-110 gauge when i started down tuning, later tried some rotosound 77s but decided i didnt like how flatwounds felt. now im just using daddario xls (55-110) as i tune to c# or c and they seem to be the minimum tension i can get away with, i quite like the loose feel but normal medium gauge flops around a little too obnoxiously
