1. Damn! 2nd in line in the highly unlikely event that aj suddenly decides against it... (here's hoping )
2. looking forward to it!
3. yeah, says he's only had it 6 weeks...
4. one of Jon's greatest skills is understanding his clients, even if they don't understand themselves! give him a call, or better yet visit him, and just tell him what you've told us and he'll sort you out good and proper! (oo-er!)
5. what on earth is that guy next to him playing??/?
6.
That is a fantastic looking set-up that you've got, what bass is that in the photo, it looks really cool .
it's a Surine bass if i'm not mistaken? 7. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Shuker-Fretted-4-str...1QQcmdZViewItem fantastic looking shuker 4-string on the bay. just look at that top! interesting tone controls too.
8. so if it's not the sound your after, is there something that specificaly makes you want a Warwick?
9. it's an old photo, and i changed the head to an EA iamp. but have since gone back to this. after some twit blew the 10" cone in the Schroeder it has been demoted (or promoted? it gets more use now..) to being the sub in my van. EDIT: yay! got in there first! woo woo!
10. some good points there Graham will have to have a play about with you style and see what it's like, sounds intruiging
11. really glad to hear it's helping people. it's really a such a usefull technique, you can play any bass without getting thrown off by different pickup placement (or no pickups), and it becomes a piece of cake to instantly change your tone (just move your hand position). the bass is and acoustic guitar body with a home made (not by me) neck and a slab for a finger board. suprisingly nice sound and playability
12. well as i said, i have the Glock double 2x12 cab. i won't say the sound is great or terrible, as it really is an un-coloured sound. so it all depends on wether or not the sound you put into it is great or terrible. so when you put something really good through it, the rewards are great! really great deffinition even when it's being pushed, very good lows and bell like highs (as you'd expect from the name). all in all it's a great cab. though i personallycrefered my Schroeder, but only because it had a bit of a mid range bump that i really liked, it certainly wasn't as clear as the Glock
13. booty-full!
14.
Good vid Tom!! Well funny when Ted comes to see who you are talking to!!!
ha ha! i didn't even realise he'd come in when i was filming it. i just noticed this little flash when i watched it back. it's like he comes in to see whats going on, spots the camera and thinks 'i'm outta here!' lol
15. and punctuation
16. cabs or heads? i've got a 2x12 cab.
17. cheers guys, glad i could be of some help by the way, did anyone notice the brief cameo appearence from Ted the Dog? you need good eyes!
18. right, hope this is what your after. if it's not, let me know what it is you need. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZFSeNy_GMk
19. the gigs that stick in my mind (sort of) are the free parties and raves we used to do. everyone there is there to have a hassle free good time, and dance! (do you notice people are getting more and more self concious about that these days?) there was one the drummer often talks about, when we're playing a particularly hectic bit, he looks up and can't see any of the 3 of up (2 guitars, bass), he sees 2 leads going off into the crowd and catches Tims head bouncing up and down out then, and then sees someone pouring vodka down my throat, but still no sign of Ben, he then spots him lying on the floor of the stage doing his solo! when we come to our senses and return to the stage/stand up, an older gentleman comes up with a saxamafone and asks if he can join in. this gentleman used to play in a little band called Hawkwind, and proceded to blast out some sweet sweet sounds over some improve funk. we played for a few hours (literally until i could barely stand), and finished to a fierce roar of applause and cheering. it felt very, very good in fact, i've got goosebumps just thinking about it!
20. found this video parody of Michael Manring playing. you all remember the youtube video's of various iconic guitarists 'shredding'? well now we have one for bass one of the funniest things i've seen in months! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waIhJDgC5dQ...feature=related and just in case you want to see the real version (which is just spellbinding!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTyByM25AGY&NR=1 ENJOY!
21. but then he says your welcome to come and try, and pic up from liverpool. fantastic looking bass BTW, some great ideas and beautifull lines!
22. easy one for me... ha! since i've ended up selling every other bass i own because i didn't need them any more
23.
Could someone such as wotnwhy do their own video of them using this technique please, especially demonstrating the technique in use during string crossing etc.
will certainly give it a try, it'll have to be done on a camera phone mind. but i'll give it a shot.
24. the ACG has really confused me. they're some of my favorite designs at the moment, but the shape looks very strange in that photo... and a spectacular collection by the way, i think nearly all of them would show up in my dream music room
