I appreciate this thread is 99% good content, and some valid points have been raised... But like a few other recent threads there are hints of personal opinion being 'enforced' rather than voiced. Please please please keep it clean guys. You don't have to agree to discuss. Cheers folks Shep

Guys - It's just an opinion. Your both allowed to have different points of view and your both allowed to voice them. Which you've done. It doesn't need further 'debate'

1st year in ages that I didn't watch. I only found out this year that it's not live and it ruined it all for me! I know it's common knowledge after everyone I've discussed that fact with over the last few weeks has had the same response - "How didn't you know it wasn't live!?" I really didn't know. I hate the fact they all celebrate and countdown to New Year falsely... And it's filmed mid November! It shouldn't bother me... But it has so much I doubt I'll watch I again!

Got as call from Bernie just now (I suggested he stopped working and went to enjoy NYE!) and he sent me a few pics over. He's been working hard on the bass... And it's basically done! Electrics need fitting and the final setup needs doing after a couple of parts are polished out. Behold... All I can say is... Oh my god it's gorgeous... Shep

It's a Cort (obviously) but I can't make out what it sad on the headstock next to it? Clearly Cort's take on the Precision. Price-wise I would like to guess and many here are more educated, but I'd say $70 was a damn good buy Please note if you do advertise this to sell on BassChat (as you mention it being time to move on), please do not do it on this thread. If you want a big rig for the sake of it 2 cabs are better than an 8x10 IMO just for he fact you can take one cab if you want. If you going ebs i'd get the head and a single 4ohm cab like the 212 and see how you find the volume. You can add another 4ohm then as the head will run down to 2ohm. I ran a 212 and 115 NEO for ages into 2ohm but sold the 115 as it seemed pointless running the amp on a quarter volume against a loud metal band. Dropping the 2nd cab and running 4 ohms still gives me more volume than I've ever dreamt of!

Neo cabinets are lighter in terms of wood used... The Proline Cabinets are heavier duty. The Neo speakers are lighter and so save even more weight. Neo speakers also have a higher power handling. Tonally there is little in it. I find the Neo to be very slightly (only a little) lacking in low mids compared to the Proline but that's easily EQ' back in if you miss it. The Prolines seem to have a heavier bottom end, in fact I often take a little bass off the Prolines (again only a tiny amount), but I suspect that's due to the heavier solid cabinet rather than the speakers. I prefer the Neo mainly due to the weight... But am more than happy using Prolines as they sound huge.

Which I prefer the flat sound of when you compare it to the Fafner. The Fafner is awesome, but I prefer a funky boingy tone, even when playing heavy stuff. The HD350 lacked the power though. The TD650 sounds more like the HD350 but with all the added power. One thing that brings the Fafner into it's own is the amazing drive channel... Which I never used. It just so happened that another basschatter had a TD650 and wasn't keen on the funky tone and was using the drive loads. Basically it made sense to swap them round so he had the warmer drive channel and I had the HD350 tone with more power. We could always swap back if they didn't work out for us. Thankfully it worked out great. To be fair the Fafner & the TD650 have much in common and with EQ tweaking we both coup of achieved the results we wanted. It just happened I found someone that wanted a Fafner while I fancied trying the TD. If I hadn't of found such a person I'd of kept the Fafner and it still would of been the best amp I'd ever owned.
