1. It didn't like my GB at all.. Wouldn't trigger anything correctly. Performed well with my RIM (9v Aguilar Pre) but surprisingly sounds absolutely stunning with my Roscoe (Bart 18v Pre). I expected the 18v Pre to be the reason the GB struggled with it and Bart pre's are generally considered very hot, but it works an absolute treat! Shep
2. I love mine... Check out www.ourhelicalmind.bandcamp.com - The track 'Get Money' is based around 2 presets of the Super Synth. I use it for quite a few things. I don't use the Octave section as it's sh*te... But spending a few weeks programming this bad boy, tweaking over time has proven to produce some impressive sound that I can't get out of my Moogerfooger set up. There was a thread a while back that I posted some old settings in (I still use some of them a lot). Here - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry957556 Worth noting that I've noticed how massively different this responds to each bass I try it with. The sounds really need setting up for use with a specific Pre amp and stick to that bass...
3. Midi controlled Flanger with LFO… yes please… Time to make board space!
4. We'll sort something out! Good week for FX Junkies next week. You on Thursday and me the night after just up the road - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...p;#entry1255820
5.
Oh poo Ive been wanting to try one of these for ages! Im in Nottingham too tho.....hi Shep! Maybe we should have a Nottingham bass fuzz fest and all try out some cool pedals?
Hey Rupert! Defo. Me & Mark hook up fairly reguarly anyway and you're welcome to my little studio anytime...
6. Plenty of us from Nottingham around Basschat... I'm Nottingham born and bred (unfortunately ).
7. One week away folks!!!
8. Bump for a fantastic bass! I played this exact bass at Bass Direct and nearly bought it myself. I would compare this to a top end Yammy TRB in both feel and sound - but at a snip of the price. £1000 is a bargain!!
9. No probs. Mark lives in Notts so I'll still get a play
10. Mark beat me to it... Makes a change for AJ to sell a cool pedal and me not take it!
11. Bought a set of strings from me. Paid promptly. All good! Cheers dude Shep
12. Sounds good. I'll stick to the MP-201, but if I wasn't all Moog'd up already I'd day that was prob the most cost effective method of getting GOOD LFO sounds!
13. Like the day the Tinmans balls dropped. (Not Tinman the basschatter... Tinman from Oz... Obviously!)
14. SOLD PENDING PAYMENT Up for sale is my Corvid Fuzz. Not many of these about, got it in a trade on Basschat about 9 months ago and it's been my primary fuzz ever since. I have recently moved to a gated fuzz which suits my needs better so it's up for grabs. It's basically a Jumbo Tone Bender clone with an added passive tone knob so you can flavour the sound a little more as well as a better retention on low mids & bass. Loads of volume on tap and it creates a thick creamy fuzz & works great with active basses too. Hand painted, chunky knobs & built like a tank. Currently has Velcro on the bottom. Takes 9v battery or regular Boss style 9v DC supply. Link to a review (it's this actual pedal photographed as well!) - http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/myrtle/corvidfuzz Asking £75 posted. Would also consider a TC Polytune or Pedaltrain Mini in part ex.
15. NOW SOLD! 1 set of LaBella Deep Talking Flats. New & Unused. 4 string packet, plus extra B string. Gauges - 128/109/89/69/49 IMHO these are the best feeling flats under the finger and offer a very smooth even tone. The Gallery stock 5 string sets @ £56, so how does £30 posted sound? Shep
16. Amazing combo! Id love one to replace my portable rig (EA Micro 550 & EA Wizzy 10) but the weight puts me off. Worth mentioning however that while this is a fairly small combo it's power, volume and clarity is that of many full rigs. This will fill venues with no problem! Bump! Shep
17. Another Vote here for the comfort Strapp. Very very good. Seems to make the bass feel about 25% lighter. I have one currently unused, I'll need it in the long run, but am happy to post it to you so you can use it for a week or so and send it back when you know if it works for you or not. Drop me a PM of that'd help.
18.
Is that not arse about tit. If it has a back bow should you not loosen off the truss to allow the strings to pull it forward ??
Ooops. Sorry... Long day. Correct! It would imply the rod had been over tightened so loosen it to allow the strings to pull the neck back
19. I would imagine it's a 'rectangular bit of plastic'. Can't imagine it required a name, although 'Cable Wrap', 'Cable Tidy' or 'Cable Clamp' might do it as well. I'd suggest contacting the maker of any amp that uses them (Peavey for example) and asking if you can buy a pair (explain what they are...). I'm sure thier spares department will have loads.
20. The backbow would imply that the truss rod has been loosened off too much. If you tighten the truss rod it will slowly create a forward bow which will counteract the back bow. Tighten it a bit at a time until the neck tightens (turn it clockwise). If this doesn't work, that could mean the truss rod has broken etc... But it's unlikely unless it's been over wound in th past. As for the threaded truss rod cover... I've heard of luthiers fixing this by using a strong adhesive to add a new screw to the threaded cap. I wouldn't want to attempt it myself but if you take it to a decent tech or luthier they may be able to sort it (or at least tell you if it's worth fixing). Shep
21. Welcome to Basschat!
