1. This is sold pending payment to the man above.
2. Not sure I can add much more to to the above. The amp delivers stunning clear sound with stunning response to the top end. Peavy stuff tends to be more fat, tradition bass tone, the EBA will happily do that, but is really designed for clarity and full range performance. An amp does need the right cabs to really sing though. I use this with a pair of 4 ohm cabs but found it a waste as it's so damn loud, running it with a single cab saw me running this with the volume at only about 4! If I hadn't found the HD350 was enough for my needs then this would stay. The HD and TD amps are the best I've used by far and I certainly wouldn't be without one of the 2. As for weight. It isn't light. But is sounds AMAZING. Shep
3. Spec sheet - http://www.bass.se/2009/manuals/td650.pdf
4. Basically what Russ just said. The 660 is pretty new and is effectively the same thing just 'version 2'. Many stockists still have the 650 in and obviously won't get the 660 until they sell through existing stock. General feedback I've heard is that the 650 is prefered tonally... And having had a quick play on one I would agree.
5. Many a person I've spoken to feel the Roscoe Bart/Bart combo is about the best fretless tone about. All the Roscoe fretless basses I've played have had that combo and I love it. They have all had Ash bodies though. I've tried a Roscoe Bart/Bart combination with a Mahogony body on a fretted bass and it had a huge mid 'thump' without any sacrifice on 'tightness'. It's a very very good combination.
6.
Wow, really lovely example of a sixer. I have played Roscoes and although they make good basses I can't see why you would sell the RIM or GB in favour of a Roscoe.
I think it's about what just 'works'. The RIM and GB are stunning and very different. I'm just finding I love the Roscoe Bart tone and the neck on my Century standard (and other Roscoe 6's) I've played are the most comfy I've played. If the GB and/or RIM don't sell, then I'll not be bothered. They are stunning instruments that will last a life time. Shep
7. Awesome! I never noticed I'd phrased it like that. It's staying like that as it will make everyone smile. £1400 is a small price to pay for my RIM (bass)
8. Just a feeler this one... On my quest to go one fretted & one fretless, paired with my Spitfire 6 already being up for sale, I'm offering up my RIM as a feeler. This bass is a testament to Robbie's skills as a Luthier. This one I do love, but can't help but fall for the Roscoe feel and sound. Many of you know this one already and it was featured heavily in a build diary here - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=88195 Specs - 6 String RIM Marseer Custom 35" scale Maple/Wenge Bolt-on Neck with RIM-style slotted headstock Ebony nut Honduran Rosewood Board (Side dots only) Black Limba Body with RIM-style slotted fish tail & Matching control cavity cover Myrtle Top and matching Headstock facing Black Hardware (Hipshot O-Ring Knobs, Schaller Strap Locks etc.) and custom fish tail bridge Aguilar OBP3 Pre-amp Delano SBC 6 HE/S Pickups 18.5mm String Spacing Has a solid, dark, punchy tone. With the EQ flat it has a passive jazz like sound, tweak the EQ and you have a Hugh fat sound. This has more bass on tap than any bass I've owned - the combination of Black Limba and the Aguilar Pre is a sub-monster. There are a few basschatters that will happily vouch for this one! As a feeler (I may withdraw this) I'm asking £1400. Strictly no offers unless it's a Roscoe. Collection from Nottingham, strictly no shipping. Comes with a Protection Racket hard/soft case which is a great fit for this small bodied baby. Anyone that wants to try her is more than welcome. Shep
9. This would be bloody perfect... I am however in Nottingham. Fail
10.
I just wanna play a scale on this, just one. Big fan of the 6 string Jazz look.
Agreed. I tend to prefer smaller bodies… but there is something uber cool about the large bodied jazz with a 6 string neck. Yum! .
11. Am interested in the M9. Interested in trades for something a bit different? I have a Korg Electribe EA1 Synth an a D'Armond Ashbory bass (could do a trade for both or either one plus cash?)? Shep
12.
It was the 'oddness' that attracted me to it. The sound is amazing too though .
It was the 'oddness' that drew me to it as well. I imagine however, it's also the 'oddness' that puts many people off trying stuff like this... It shouldn't be though. Take the stand out of the equation and it still remains one of the best sounding 5 string fretless basses I've played.
13. Bump - £75 posted. This is as low as I can go as postage is going to cost me over a tenner.
14.
FWIW I would want an OC-2, a very squishy compressor and a bass with a bridge pickup. I think that's all you need.
I have to agree that you're not far wrong. Would need to be an OC2 rather than any other octave though.
15.
Awesome amp. TD650 > TD660 (why did they tweak the preamp?!)
Agreed. This version is soooooooooo much better sounding than the new one!
16. Yeah. Stereo (may be refered to as TRS [Mono is TS]) however with some expression pedals you don't need to worry, such as the Moog EP-2 as it has a cable attached/wired in so no additional cable is required. Shep
17. Moved to the correct section. Awesome board by the way. Don't imagine this will be here for long.
18. Awesome. I love every KJ Sawka beat to be fair
19.
You sir are a dude.
Yeah, I know Truth be told, I discovered the Melvins through the Fantomas link. I'd always been a big Patton fan and bought the 1st Fantomas album on launch day, saw them live a few times (which is an AMAZING spectical!) and eventually discovered the Melvins... Who have stayed on my Mac playlist ever since.
20. They are awesome. Fantomas VS The Melvins is one of my fav' albums!
21. The Moog EP2 is a safe bet as it was obviously designed for control voltage pedals as opposed to 'regular' expression. Personally I really like the EP2 anyway and use one for a non-Moog pedal as well. My personal suggestion is you buy a Moog MP-201 as it's the best bit of gear I own... But I fear it may be a tad more expensive that you'd like to spend for an expression pedal alone.
