1.
thankyou for all the advice, these sansamps look interesting, we already have a boat load of DI boxes from her guitaring.

2. to be honest for £50 for a cab and amp i think i would be stupid not too. doesn't matter if it sounds utter sh*te, for the first few shows, its got her out of a predicament, i will keep an eye on the classifieds on here also but if you see something suitable, let us know please
3. thats what i thought, i know i paid nearly £2000 for her guitar cab and head so £50 is almost disposable, if the band doesn't take off or it isn't suited hardly lost money is it! what would you guys recommend for this kind of thing though, she will be playing my ibanez, and will always be real dirty low end clubs with idiots on the board. oh and there a modern punk band. not bothered about new or second hand, just want to work our way up, cheap to expensive as we explore our needs, if i get this £50 set what should we progress to next,. say with a £200 - £300 budget
4. as some of you may remember i purchased a bass in a silent auction from my favourite band pitchshifter, anyway since then me and the girlfriend have cleaned it up she has put down her 9 guitars for a while and picked up my bass. anyway she auditioned for a band spot the other day and got it, playing modern style punk locally, issue is we have no form of amplification. we have borrowed and rented up until now, but don't want to lay out a fat load of cash until we know what she likes, point being she has just been offered a HH 115 piezo + vs head. i have no idea about any of the above names and my limited google research lets me know they are fairly old and started doing some of the first solid state stuff. question is are they any good, would they suit her in this territory would 100w be enough and is £50 a good price. quick replies needed please and excuse my ignorance on the subject
5. Just got this info from the ibanez register From the serial number on the paper, it's a 2001 Custom made EDB made at the Ibanez custom shop for endorsed artists in Los Angeles, California. It's finish date was 11/26.
6. Thanks again people and yes it is cool for me as I am now in constant communication with Mark which I would pay hansomly for
7. It is the custom for sure, did a bit more research last night, still can't figure out the 4th control knob, most people think it's tone control and looking in the back there is a little circular dial back with a tiny green capacitor so I guess that fits but it don't seem to work, could that be the battery? My other friend has looked at it and thinks not, he noticed that the jack is different to his. On his bass which is also active there are only 2 wires going to the jack on mine there are 3. Why does a bass need a 3 Pin jack? Is this the active setup or something else the only reason I can see the need for a 3 pin jack is stereo over mono
8. All music is my kind of music. Will keep an ear out
9. Appreciated, what band are you in , I work in Nottingham at KB event
10.
Nice buy. If your a Pitchshifter fan you'll be happy to know that Johnny Carter is a good friend of mine (I've know him for about 10 years) and I'll be spending this Friday & Saturday in his studio recording my new EP (he's a recording engineer these days). I'll pass on your regards Johnny has a very similar Ibanez Guitar with a Matt Black finish (a finish they never offered as standard) on the studio wall.
I have followed them for years had a few drum lessons with Jason and was desperate to actually tour with them as I'm a tour truck driver but the company I work for mainly do outdoor festivals production and lighting not band work, maybe next time, to be honest what I paid for the bass I would have happily paid just to meet Mark and the phone calls. If he ever try's to throw anything 'shifter away tell him there's someone out there willing to take it off his hands. My friend was working alongside Jason at one point trying to develop a carbon fibre kit for touring, don't know if they ever made anyhi useable.
11. I will get a load more pics with some clearer detail to show you all
12. 5 controls? There are only 4 controls, 3 large 1 small, according to the letter of authenticity I have It's soundgear derived custom
13. Had it round a mates today and he did a plug in test, the first 2 knobs control each pickup individually, the smaller one seems to be a master of the 2 pickup volumes, bringing both up or down, but the knob below it doesn't seem to do anything, I think contacting Mark is the best bet here.
