The Lurks household has an idea for next month , myself and lurksalittle had a brainstorm we need to sort an arrangement and then get stuck in. If it works it will be a lark ?
-
I'm in and had great fun with this , I learned an absolute shedload of stuff doing this , my midi is getting much better , i can even overdub it now So in deference to Dads deafness I have kept the verses relatively empty as the words are so stupid he might want to hear them better Lurksalittle makes an appearance on this as well , I think she thought I put a bit more effort in to this , it certainly has a more Lurksy feel to it so enjoy if you can ........... wacky, an auto in bed feature ooh er missus

Had a great gig last night , our set is heading a touch more 'party' rock and when the pub is dancing through both sets , it seems to be preesing the right buttons , fun from start to finish

Now THAT's the first Topic on the new site

Just bought a mixer from Colin Excellent experience , I would have no hesitation of buying from, selling to or trading with Colin

Bloody spellcheckers ! At least it didn't corrupt drummists

I'm sure its a belter Dad, I'll listen when mine is more concrete I have just learnt proper midi manipulation of my EZ drummer 2, so expect some ......... er ..........random drummisting as I try and put all the bits together. the lyrics are writ, and suitable, if not initially obvious as to why, but as is my want, I tend to hit on a couple of words and go all around the houses to try and make them fit
Possibly the only band for which average Joe Public can name both the drummer and the bass player.
Possibly not if they had to pick 2 names from the 4
I guess you had to be there.😂 Blue
My point being that you are not 'here' , you are still back 'there'
............ The future? I contend we never have a great grasp of today or the future if we dismiss the past. BTW what's today, Ed Sheeran? If yes, John gets my vote. Blue

.......... I can't intelligently comment on Sheeran because I'm not familiar with his work. ......
This kind of shows the futility of this sort of discussion On a side note regard influence , Mr Sheeran headlined Glastonbury , on his own , to 80,000 peeps on site and countless millions worldwide (live) , he writes all ( or most) of his own songs , and he's a ginga , now , if that doesn't turn out to be a massive influence on countless numbers of people for their future musical ambition and inspiration I would be astonished. I am not a great fan of Mr Sheeran , though I have seen him, but I saw the Glasto set on TV and was mightily impressed.

Consecutive posts for me on the thread , tonight's gig was the best ! A fund raiser for the village pre school nursery , pub rates of pay , on a proper stage with the best view of the best looking crowd we have ever played to We have made an executive band decision to seek out pre school fundraisers to play at very competitive rates Ed to add the gig was about 500 Metres from home, beer provided and half the ladies recognised me from the decorations I do on the house for the trick or treating they did on Halloween !

My first efforts at recording were though a zoom pedal/interface , my advice is ditch it , use a pucka interface for the interface bit and the zoom for your tone, keep them seperated , it makes it simpler , I like simpler

A gig in my local , and SWMBO was happy to collect me me , so all good except ....... on this basis it is not a good idea to quaff a pint setting up , have another to start the first set and then kill another before the break , when one gets to a certain age , 20 minutes is just not long enough to prepare for 1 1/4 hours of a second set accompanied by 2 more pints , nothing to do with playing ability after a few pints , but massively due to not having the ability to empty the bladder sufficiently in the break . A great gig nevertheless , but I will be on either wine or whiskey for the first set tomorrow night.

'Cheapest print online' I used for thin A3 posters , I seem to remember they were almost giving them away , since our 'rebranding ' the singer is doing it , they are a bit over the top TBH , they only need to last 2 weeks on a pub wall and then they are for the bin !

Jeez.... a lovely shouty lyric type picture this month AND the bonus of killing a classic next month .........happy days
If it looked like a bad elf / pixie / , I might be inspired, but it looks like a real goody-goody elf to me. It's all just an excuse for the fact that whatever I try and write ends up as blues rock.
😄 I started off thinking blues rock would be a good road to follow with this , but while it developed , the blues part seemed to ebb away , and then, by some odd coincidence, so did the rock !

Great gig last night , about 40 people in a small village social club, by the end of the evening there seemed to be a competition as to who could dance on the highest piece of furniture ! Snooker table , pool table, normal tables even the shelf that runs behind the bench seats , return booking and the prospect of 2 parties . We played quite well and the FOH sound was good , but both the monitors packed up and we had utilise a little powered speaker from the venue for the drummist to hear the vocal.
An elf, surely..? (Fairies have wings, don't they..?). Or maybe a Borrower..?
NOOOOOOO. I have really struggled for inspiration on this fairy topic and put in an entry that's just about fairy nuff, and mow I find it's a picture of an ELF !! Oh my days !

I'm in , its a little underwhelming TBH , trying to set something up with Lurksalittle and her mates just didn't happen , and this entry is 'lame' in her words I couldnt get any other angle so bland it is unfortunately https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/fairy-nuff
Spector Euro 4LX. Possibly an unpopular choice... Some awesome tones, but the preamp output was WAY too hot (and no trimpot on this version). The ergonomics just didn't work for me and although I liked the tone, it didn't fit the band I was in at the time. Traded it for a Fender Marcus Miller Jazz, which was also a bit meh. Too heavy and with a stupid preamp. I can work with most instruments, but those two were moved on pretty quickly - the beauty of the Basschat market place!
I loved the tones on my Euro 4 but I just couldn't get on with the thickness of the neck , my legend is a bolt on neck and just slightly thinner and is a different beast and still love it. I am going short scale though cos of my small hands but will always have a place for the legend , the Euro was traded for a lovely Gordon Smith SG!
