1. I have 2 home made cabs MTH30's ( discussed here http://notroubleit.c...mit=6&start=102 ) and I am sure elsewhere . they are loaded with the 12 inch Precision Devices drivers in the title ( info here http://www.thomann.d...es_pd12sb30.htm ) The cabs are part carpeted and look OK ish , but are solidly built and braced, and perform great just not particularly well upholstered and a bit cumbersome though not overly heavy. They are pretty much unused and have seen 2 gigs use. I had great ideas about sound reinforcement etc etc , but for the gigs we do they are OTT, so you can have the lot for £200 or you can have the drivers for £150 on their own for the pair. No photos as I can't get to the things at the moment. collection from Chester if the cabs are wanted, I could probably get the drivers shipped if it came to it , but it seems a shame to split as IIRC the boxes are designed around these drivers . you are free to fight for these and if if a bidding war breaks out I will watch with a big smile
2. I have 2 of the above that are need of attention , they are the 4 ohm version and are kaput. The horns may be OK as maybe the x-overs but the drivers ( 15 scorpions I think) need the voice coil kit sorting I believe. they are good for boxes , repairing , dismantling , rabbit hutches , or even just to fill a space in the garage, thats what I have been using them for , so , I think it is someone elses turn now . first shout gets them , pick up only I guess, Chester area, But I do want them gone , I hope to get some new stuff to fill the space in the garage that these should leave .
3. We normally role out slade , springsteens santa and frankies power of love , but this year we will just do slade as we have run out of rehearsal time , and we normally end up playing it twice anyway
4. Buzzcocks - ever falllen in love
5.
Wear it solidly for a month without washing, then sell it on eBay as being 'reliced'
same with the hats I wear ......................oh................ I thought you said 'deliced'
6. a bit chuffed here , I have put together a little ditty and our bands singer is up for putting his warbles on it , Hopefully with a bit of luck it will be done by next weekend
7. Has Michael Palin signed up
8. Yep , Thanks a big one on that, I use(d) the free version for ages but had issues on 64bit Reaper and it made the whole process a right pain, This one is brilliant , plays straight off, so many options , the mixer is ace and the whole shebang is really intuitive . I even got a phone call from the states checking that everything went well with the purchase , excellent .
9. There is Vat at 22% on that price , I suppose that still makes it cheap though .
10. Good call on that one, I think it was K12 we used last time , so it makes sense to use it again .
11. Well done Spoombung , excellent piece , And thanks for the votes on mine , greatly appreciatted .
12. best wishes Bert , Announcing that you are desperate to move the stuff may mean you get some silly low offers , spread the sales as best you can and I hope you get what you need from them .
13. well played Paul , I will be getting stuck in aswell
14. most gigged/ used bass guitar is probably a bit vague to have definitive numbers thrown at it to validate it against another bass ,for instance Dave Peacock ( Chas and Dave) seems to have clocked up a few gigs with the same bass. Maybe the record attempt title needs to reflect the nature of the record a bit closer . I think to actually have a record attempt you would have to do it at something like the bass show and organise it with agreed rules so that the criteria for playing was agreed , then have all the visitors play it and pass it on , but all at one location and on the one day within a specific time period , and then it can be suitably adjudicated , every entrant to pay £2 to the charity etc or something along those lines .
15. I had to put a bit of listening in to choose this month , possibly the best set of entries in a month so far ,
16. we played a little pub just outside Chester for my brothers birthday , it was fantastic , everyone was bouncing all the way through both sets, we blooded a couple of new songs and were asked to play them again . We played on after the landlord gave us the nod to a couple more songs after 12.00 and everyone went home drunk and quite happy
17. This has to be the best set of entries in a single month so far , outstanding , I may end up doing a lucky dip to pick one to vote for
18. That would have been uber contempory when you did that and it is fantastic Nige , it really is .
19. I just noticed my post count , It makes sense to post No 1000 in here
20. Thats a shame Bilbo, I hope your boxes get unpack soon enough .
Nice one Lurks! I've only had a quick listen on my phone but I have to commend Lurksalittle on the vocal. Very good indeed.
Cheers Skol , her voice needs a bit of firming up , but I didn't give her enough takes really , It is quite an eye opener when you realise the concentration it takes for someone to hear a melody learn the words and fit them in to the tune , its one thing to sing along to a song , another learning an existing song, but when you start from scratch it takes soooo much more effort , if I allow for that next time, we should have even better results. I have gone along with the idea that the song 'just' needs a vocal , while it was brilliant when the bands singer did it for the blues song I did , I now realise it requires a LOT more planning for a 13 year old girl to do it . ...and on that note , she has a new app on her ipad which is effectively a midi programmer , a real doody thing where you just draw or write on the screen and the app just plays through where the writing covers the notes , incredible bit of kit , to the extent that she is mumbling about entering the competition herself next time
21. Aye , probably a touch early , but great fun nevertheless
22. I have Yamaha HS 50s but primarily for mixing , they are very crisp midrange but bass light , I would have thought something with an optional sub might work for gaming as I am sure you would need a bit of low end in there
23. Well , the medieval headless pewcore is up now , just in time because the 'studio' refurbishment starts this coming week , well , decorating the playroom , but I hope to formalise a bit more studio-ness into it . A family effort this week , I hope you enjoy. http://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/no-body
24.
Hmm, I'm getting all that now with my guitar rig interface. I've heard the pre-amps on the focusrites are great but it's hard to tell if it's worth upgrading my interface just for the better pre-amps. I think the £120 may be better spent elsewhere or I'll have to try one out so I know for sure
Ah , well I guess its your ears that will have to make the judgement on that , good luck
