2.
If in doubt stick on an A and play 8th notes. You are never usually more than 5 frets off key..! Just try to look cool like you are playing a 5th instead of root because you know it and the rest don't. Confidence - appear confident, even if you don't have a clue, and never stop playing as that is a dead giveaway! Cheers, Rich
[Jazz] Yeah [/Jazz]
3. I may have missed something in this and apologies if I have , but She sells sanctuary is what our rhythm calls a 'clock' song , it just goes round and round and round and round , and it can be carried off quite reasonably with 4 notes , you could probably play it hendrix style upside down with your teeth after 2 bars practice
4.
would it be wrong to say i voted for the one which had the most interesting and varied spectrum graphic?
I think personally that I wouldn't like to comment .............................. at least until I found out what you were talking about
5. Some fantastic compositions in there this month , there really are .
6.
No Guitars samples AL? That's amazing, how do you do that. Likey likey P.S. How do you get the quote thing to work it never works for me, I click it in the post I want to quote, then add my text and nothing?
as long as you leave the all the (quote) (/quote) marks in place it should just work. I couldnt use the square brackets as it actually made a quote !!!!
7. Welcome dude
8.
Yeah very big sound, like it Lurksalot
Cheers Steven , If anyone gets it , it will do for me
9.
They should have come to you for the The Vicar of Dibley theme. Which orchestra plugins are you using?
I thought the vicar of dibley was a bit more uplifting than mine I didn't use plugins as such , they were just sounds off a midi piano .( I didnt see the question posted , only when I quoted it ) I have listened to the others now and there are some lovely pieces and all really well produced , but I may have seen this one differently to everyone else , I saw the picture as a derelict temple to consumerism and a bit of an end game to the lack of inherent sustainability, thus my approach was always going to be a bit on the dour side . but it was supposed to be operatic until opera escaped my vocal expertise . Funny really , most things vocally seem just a bit more based on confidence than ability when you get to record it and play it back , FFS even your own voice on the message on your phone sounds bad when you hear it back
10. DOH a FPPSAPC why didnt you say so
11. OK , I'm in , this is not like the vision it started out with , and I heard dudes saying that before , but yeah I know what it means now https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/requiem-in-somnium
12. I was trying with Chrome , so now I am giving IE a go and it seems to be working v e r y s l o w l y , but working
13. I am struggling to get soundcloud to upload mine , I tried last night and still no joy tonight . I dont have a clue how to get past the upload screen doing either nothing , or instantly announcing it is fully uploaded but refusing to do anything further
14. well it kind of depends really , I can dial some lovely tone and sounds through it and wind it up to sound sweet , but I do try to sharpen it up with the band , it does punch nicely , it can clang nicely aswell , I don't normally have too much trouble either way to be honest , every room you play affects the sound at different volumes , so I guess if you get used to fiddling with the thing you will get to feel how to make it sing .
15. Well done buddy , I too am a Schroeder user , it seems to make all the noises I want to get out of it
16. I use a 2i2 with a Rode , and occassionally seem to have output issues from the Mic , I can use the Mic with other preamps no problem but have intermittenet issues with the 2i2 , However I also get the odd issue if I have the 2i2 plugged in on the computer start up , the sound is pants on playback , but as long as I plug it in after I turn the computer on it seems OK , I just put it down to electrickery and stuff .
17. Well done , I watched it the other night , it was very good
18. Brilliant James , just brilliant, well done dude .
19. I guess the crap is still there , you just have fewer extension leads
20.
I've tried playing it and it's too much for me, though I like to kid myself that I haven't persevered enough
I am not quite there yet , I mean the point of admitting its too much, I just need to persevere a touch more ed , though if I was in a band that I thought would play it , it would get some serious attention.
21.
We usually play 2 x 90 minute sets with a 30 minute break. I personally think that is reasonable break for 3 hours of music. Seems to be the done thing in our neck of the woods.
Streuth , that is commitment , we do around 50mins first set then get back on around 10.45 to finish at midnight , the break depends on how close to 9.30 we start , the end time is normally the clincher .
22. we have just found the need for a new desk , so took the opportunity of having a good think of the set up we wanted , and have gone active , overall our kit is smaller, lighter, louder, with more sound options, we went with new EV tops and second hand powered monitors , I will grant that the extra cabling is an extra 5mins set up/breakdown , but not an issue really as we can daisy chain the power from the lights. Overall the sound has been recieved well as a noticeable improvement .
23.
No....... But you can come close if you dress up as a m***er. Borrow your wife's bra and stuff it with two footballs, wear a Viking helmet and scream while you stand to the left hand side of your living room.
You know waaaaayy toooo much about my wifes undergarments .. ed to add ..... I willl have to wait until late evening when all the neighbours are indoors with their TVs on , its a nice day at the moment and if any are out walking their dogs, I fear if they hear my opera, the dogs would scare me with the mess they might leave on the pavement
24. Alas , my search for a beautiful voice has not come to fruition , so the question is , can I sing opera
25. I have a few friends that reckon I wrote the book on cheating , however, most think I plagiarised it
