1.
just a quckie to say I'm loving my Baby Blues (used them for a gig tonight). They are ER-20's but made for the smaller ear canal. I've always found normal ER-20's to be a bit uncomfortable, but the Baby Blues are great for me and do the job. Worth checking out .
Definitely - my wife has a pair of those from the place I mentioned above. They go under the exciting name of ER 20-s there And they are 10p cheaper than mine!
 2.
ByTheSea - I always thought the new gallus shape would look great headless
I do like the gallus (and the harlot, and all the others), though I always think a bass looks unfinished without a head. Also, having a head on it gives Alan that bit of extra space to show off his skills! Mind you, at the rate I am saving he will have at least six more designs out before I get round to having one made
 3.
Windows XP running Cubase SX3 / Ableton 8 / Sound Forge. PC 1 driving AVI's and Quicktime on a second desktop. And a Laptop for running Finale 2009. A couple of Delta 10/10's. M-patch 2 for monitoring. A pair of Mackie's. Avalon U5 and also a Phoenix Audio DRS-1 Class-A pre. [ Hired out to my mates studio at the moment ] Studio logic Keyboard. And various Basses [ always my Rim Jazz5] and Gtrs.
Nice setup - and you look much younger than I had imagined
 4. Sounds good - let us know what it is like with the cable. Be useful to have a good tuner available easily.
 5. A fretless 5 - ACG (shape and spec not yet decided - like them all!) Or a Zon maybe... Though as it's a GAS list I could put both on there
 6. Don't know if anyone has this yet, would like to try it. They have been mentioned a couple of times in passing but I think it's getting hold of the cable that has stopped people so far. Thomann do one here.
 7.
Anyone know who played bass on Scott Walker's 1970 album 'Til The Band Comes In' ? Ta.
I don't know, but as he was a bass player it's possible he did it himself. From reading about him I can imagine him wanting to do as much as he could at that time.
 8.
Gonna pick up some earplugs soon as starting to notice a quiet ringing occasionally after practice so need to stop it before it gets worse. After reading this thread I'm going to pick up some ER20's (wish I could afford custom moulded but they will have to wait), wheres the cheapest place to pick these up online? Thanks
Not sure that they are the cheapest, but I got mine from here - £7.39 including postage. Very quick delivery as well.
 9. I put an ebay link up for one of these last night that had a low BIN (well it looked low to me). It went this morning, possibly to someone on here, and they had previously owned one and regretted getting rid of it.
 10. Beautiful - but you knew what I thought already Which band are you thinking of - Kit? Let us know when some songs are added to myspace that utilise it. Oh - and you seem to have aged... (and changed gender and race but we won't go there).... Was it the decision-making?
 11. Would certainly make a good pair
 12.
Love the Legacy... lovely
Yes - very nice. And there's one on ebay at the moment
 13. Spector Legend 4 for BIN of £150. AS they are £455 at GAK and £399 somewhere else (closed the tab now) that seems a reasonable price.
 14.
The week I was given this there were 3 jobs identical to mine available in my home town (with no qualified teachers coming forward from previous adverts for those posts) and I'd been approached about the possibility of a bit of friendly 'poaching' of me to one of those jobs! Added to which I was doing school productions and shows using a £2000+ Warwick bass so it was this bass or in the event of damage/loss, a potential insurance claim for a much more expensive Warwick... they bought me this to cure both problems.
Excellent Now, why did I give up teaching again?
 15.
I had this bought for me as a work, retention 'sweetener'.
I'm obviously in the wrong job. If I'm lucky I get a doughnut now and again! bump
 16.
Drums... believe it or not... Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drumitar
Thanks for that - I was wondering as well! Though my wife likes Roy's hat
 17. As a thread has just been posted about the London Jazz Festival I was searching YouTube to show some clips to my wife to persuade her that she might want to come along. And on the recent thread about what people play when trying out basses in shops, OldGit mentioned that he played a traditional piece. So I was somewhat surprised to come across this one.. Apologies if it has been posted before.
 18.
Does he have a web site?
http://www.wilkesguitars.co.uk/index.htm
 19. Thanks for that - might have to check some of that out
 20.
Marcus, Victor and... Someoneelse presumably.
and they are all over Youtube at the moment (not good quality though from the ones I've seen).
 21.
Hmmm ... sacriligious it may be to say this, but I don't think it's that bad. Given how hard it is to do something genuinely different with the shape of a bass, that's not such a rough effort. A bit "metal" for my tastes, but I can see how that could look good on stage with the right band.
I would agree with that as far as the Esh goes, but I think that the ebay version is just a little bit too "wrong" for me. But without the Esh beside it who's to say
 22.
Bythesea... When mine arrives your welcome to try it out if your nearby!
Cheers Charic - will have to find a reason to come up there now I'm sure I could persuade my boss I need to go on a course or something And I think we should help GK out with his addiction by looking after them for him
 23.
I think I may have learned to speak French Cheers for the supportive messages, I've cheered up nicely Can't seem to find how to remove the ebay listing, it's changed. Any ideas?
That's great Fort the ebay thing try here. If that fails put the price up to £5k - then if it sells you won't have to worry
