MAJOR LABEL ARTIST seeks bassist (17-24)
bythesea replied to majorlabelartist's topic in Musicians Wanted
You're totally right... i like your point a lot. i'm not being agist at all... if you have a 21 y/o singer songwriter with a main audience of 16-20 y/o females... it really only makes sense to have a band that fits with that performance image-wise. It's purely a business thing, no one should take it personally.
wasn't taken personally - couldn't find a tongue-in-cheek emoticon -

Well I have a bass - think I fail on just about every thing else! -
Yes agreed, but I dont have a case for it and I have had a bad experience with a boxed and bubblewrapped bass before. Also I prefer any potential buyer to try it out First to ensure it suits them! Will.
Fairy nuff - good luck with the sale
It has side dots - where the frets would be... prob the best option for an unlined fretless imho. The neck is more Jazz than Precision I would say. Hope that helps. Alex.
Unfortunately it does You may have PM once I have consulted my wallet!
Isnt the cable just a small jack to large jack socket convertor? Or am I missing something..?
That might work, though as the iPhone socket is stereo out and mic in the correct connections would need to be made I guess.

Don't know of a luthier who would build that unfortunately (or maybe fortunately!) I'm sure that someone knows one though. Look forward to seeing the photos
If for some reason you haven't heard Jaco's playing on Joni Mitchells "Hejira" & "Mingus" albums make sure you do. Absolutely wonderful. Personally I think this was Jaco at his very best.
I was going to mention Hejira and thought Jaco must have already been mentioned so didn't bother! That was what first opened my eyes to fretless

Westone bass guitars - what do people think of them?
bythesea replied to CathalOC's topic in Bass Guitars
Have a look at this thread. In between the sales info there is a reasonable amount of other info about them. They seem to be considered good quality for the price (if the price is right!) -
Tell me about it! Ridiculous. The cash i've gone through buying FLs I couldn't try first, then having to sell them.
Just as well this question wasn't asked a couple of weeks ago though. Fretless bass, wonderful tone. between 600 and 800. Hmmm

SOLD: Rick Turner Electroline fretless 5

Depends how far "under a grand" you mean. Have a look in the for sale section here - several nice ones up recently, but there's an Overwater 5 fretless (natural, no scratchplate) up for one grand. There is also a very nice Marleaux, though that's a bit over what you want, and I see that Jan has put up his Rick Turner Electroline today ( I was considering that when it was up before). It isn't a natural finish but it is under a grand. And that's apart from all the ones I can't remember off the top of my head
Pete Stevens built a 3 octave fretless bass for Steve Chesney, but I don't know of any 36 fret Wal basses. Also, I haven't seen any through neck Wal basses.
That's the one I meant - 36 lined fretless Picture here
