1.
I've never seen him use a Geddy Lee jazz-i've seen him use a couple of '70's jazz basses though-maybe that's the confusion.
Might also be a bit of a joke because of his Geddy Lee "signature" CT
 2.
I think someone has a bit of a chip on their shoulder
I suspect Bilbo said that with at least a bit of his tongue in his cheek, even if there is an element of truth in it. And I also think that most of the people are here because of their love of what they do (original, cover, tribute or any mixture of those ) rather than because they want to move product.
 3. I thought maybe they were covering their ebay fees, but they have it at the same price in their online (outside ebay) store. £863 at GAK, though they do charge an extra £30 for the sunburst.
 4.
I saw a Lace Helix in the Bass Merchant.
They are shown as one of the two dealers in the UK and Lace is one the list of makers on their menu (though they don't seem to have any at the moment). The other is D W Guitars in Medway, though I can't find them on the net. Nice looking bass though
 5. No experience at all with these so can't give advice, though I would have thought that you will probably need to get one made for your bass - it will need to match the radius of the fingerboard. And there is a pic of one here, post #5. The thread is in german and despite the fact that the poster has the same avatar as me there is no connection!
 6. I reckon this guy must be an estate agent. What do you think? Cort Fretless
 7. And have a listen to Eberhard Weber - also available on Spotify and Yutube
 8. Epiphone Jack Casady Signature model - interview here with better pics You beat me to it Russ!!
 9. If I make it to the SE Bass Bash I really hope you don't have this there or I may be leaving with that and no wife!
 10.
Interesting ! Just found this on the Barfaced Compact site " The current price is £400 and we can ship to anywhere in the mainland UK for £25. As these cabs are designed for gigging the best way to know if these cabs are for you is to take them on a gig! We are thus offering a 14 day trial period for you to find out if this is your ultimate bass speaker solution. Return the cab undamaged to receive a full refund of both the £400 purchase price and the £25 outbound postage and packing. " Umm scratches chin in deep thought
Alex is also putting one of his cabs "on tour" for people to try out - have a look in his sub-forum for the latest itinerary
 11. Properly fitted 15s are going to be your best bet, but given the price difference I would probably have a pair of 20s as well, and keep them on your keyring for any unexpected use.
 12.
Hes a very interesting character.. Tis great when he wheres the goat horn hat..Does he/has he exclusively played Carl Thompson basses always??
He talks about the basses he plays (among other things) in the article in this months BGM
 13.
You're totally right... i like your point a lot. i'm not being agist at all... if you have a 21 y/o singer songwriter with a main audience of 16-20 y/o females... it really only makes sense to have a band that fits with that performance image-wise. It's purely a business thing, no one should take it personally.
wasn't taken personally - couldn't find a tongue-in-cheek emoticon
 14. Great price - especially as I had been looking at Guitar Junction's website!
 15. Well I have a bass - think I fail on just about every thing else!
 16. Which one is it? I have a Larrivee acoustic - wonderful instrument.

 18.
Yes agreed, but I dont have a case for it and I have had a bad experience with a boxed and bubblewrapped bass before. Also I prefer any potential buyer to try it out First to ensure it suits them! Will.
Fairy nuff - good luck with the sale
 19. Looks good (even with that join ) but I imagine the collection only severely limits the number of potential buyers.
 20.
It has side dots - where the frets would be... prob the best option for an unlined fretless imho. The neck is more Jazz than Precision I would say. Hope that helps. Alex.
Unfortunately it does You may have PM once I have consulted my wallet!
 21. Looks nice - does this have side dots? And is the neck a typical P profile?
 22.
? Thought you'd fallen back in love?
Bump for a good guy and wonderful bass
 23.
I really must learn how to embed video...
Find the Youtube video ID (numbers and letters) then enter this:

And thanks for a great thread
 24.
Either way, I'm happy with it!
glad I put the link up now!
