1.
What wings, what match. What what?
Have a look at the back particularly - on a lot of high end basses you would expect to see each side matching (usually book-matched), but the grain on one side is totally different to the other. Not that it has to of course, and this is still rather stunning for a ric (considering I don't usually like them)
 2. Now relisted - they have added a few pics that show the serial number etc. And yes, Wenge facings
 3. Not even the first on this forum link The thread does explain that it doesn't actually move like that and why it appears to
 4. Try this one - and it's beautiful. As you say, dread to think what he got for it - unless it was nicked of course...
 5.
Is there any way I can alter my personal defaults? Or am I stuck with having to go into advanced search every time ?
I think you have to go back to it each time. Haven't seen a way of saving your own defaults.
 6. +1 on the weird and wonderful thread, but that reminds me a bit of Shri's bass. Hand made and cut away in the middle so he can use a bow on it.
 7. If you check the extra search fields it shows that by default newest threads are listed first. So if the "bassists cars" thread had both words in it somewhere (which it must have) and it was the most recent thread that had them (which it must have) it will come out on top. If you had searched by titles only rather than the whole text (and again whole text is the default) it is the only thread shown. Simples *squeak*
 8.
Wow 11 in a row. Is that a record?
I only wanted one!
 9.
yeah im rather chuffed, btw how did u get on with those macros?
they're good, worked fine - I'll email you later
 10. Am i the only one who saw the thread title and thought you had gone past a speed camera too fast?
 11. That body looks amazing. See you went for the narrower neck design though...
 12.
The GKMB150s are good and second hand one would come in well under £400. They have the advantage of being very small, self contained and, consequently, very portable. For practice purposes, one of these would be more than adequate.
And there was a mint one for sale here just about in your budget - Gareth Hughes if my memory serves me correctly. Haven't seen mention for a week or so, so it may have gone.
 13.
Bump - Lots of interest here.
PMd earlier today Edit: On checking it was actually last night, and have again tonight
 14. You are in the wrong business Alex - home theatre is where it's at... $6 million home theatre $1 million speaker (you need two for stereo and each contains 40 15" drivers!)
 15.
Clarion used to make a 32" sub called the thunderdome. Images of it are pretty scarce though.
this one? I see why he hasn't put it in a cab, there wouldn't be any room for the passengers... I'll get me coat...
 16. Further to my earlier post, while he doesn't have much on Spotify, most of it seems to be on www.last.fm
 17.
The above sounds good - I'd never heard this (or any of his stuff) - NICE, can you recommend an album to go for?
First album was "Veneer", the second "In our nature". I have them both and like them, though prefer the first one. Have a look at www.jose-gonzalez.com for some info. He came to prominence when Sony used Heartbeats (think it was that one) in one of their ads.
Who the hell is Roger Glove?
Used to be the finger double in Deep Purple for those close ups
 19.
£2K firm. No trades +£ unless it is for bythesea's Overwater (not that I am stalking it at all!) or poss a pre MM stingray.
Lovely bass, but not for me - this time at least. But never say never
 20. I like black but if you want something different you could have a look here
 21.
Bear in mind that Michael Manring uses silly string gauges like 20-52 or something (piccolo strings tuned to standard bass pitch), so it's much easier for him to get them vibrating than it is for us mere mortals. (As a side note, where'd you get the MM DVD from? Sounds interesting...)
Very true about the strings - discusses those as well. The DVD was from Amazon - it says 2005 but it's a DVD version of an older release, not too long after he got the hyperbass I think. Shows how to use two ebows, and how to play three Zons at once
 22.
Mine's a MKII- you need a mini jack to USB lead. There's no USB connection on the player.
That sounds like the CD trainer rather than the mp3 one - as far as I know the mp3 trainer is still on version 1, while the CD one is up to version 2. In that case then you would need to burn the mp3s on to a CD and use that in it. Does it look like this?
 23. Hi CFA I have a DVD of Michael Manring where he uses one and explains how it works and how he uses it. I'll bring it in for you to have a look.
