1.
Oh well....seems its a Lakland! http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images0...0ac010673aa.jpg
Was about to say that - could be a Joe Osborn with the plate removed.
2.
since when was 1990 vintage?
1991
3.
Guessing here, but it's not a micro usb connector is it? (Which would be typical) You'd be able to get one of those cables from any computer shop or mobile phone emporium.
No - it's one of these (for the Tascam MP-BT1 at least), though it doesn't need to be right angled obviously And they are common as well. Edit: Pic of the side of the trainer here
4. Not necessarily - depends on the vocalist. One way to get round this to do is learn the shapes and then once you know the key root work from there. And if the worst comes to the worst stick to the root notes. You can always work your way back in from there. Done it myself a few times And good luck - once the first time is over you'll have crossed a big hurdle (I remember the other thread)
5. Unfortunately not, though interesting to see that in his other items he has four Lace Helix basses. Wonder if he has a shop?
6. It was an offer of free feedback. No description given. You buy the item but don't pay then leave each other positive feedback. His way of getting high/positive feedback in a hurry I guess.
7.
My subscription renewal's come through, but I can't decide if I want to take it... Not sure if the mag is as 'packed' as under the previous editor, although I like the direction the new ed has taken it...
What are you doing here - thought you were on holiday Must say I have just cancelled my subscription to Acoustic Guitar and will be taking out one with BGM (same company I believe) so they won't be losing out
8.
As far as the Tascam CD-BT is concerned I have tried Windows Media Player which will slow songs down up to 50 % although I dont really find that useful , does the Tascam do it differently that WMP ?
I haven't tried it with WMP so don't know if it does this, but you need something that slows down while keeping the pitch the same. The Tascam does this (and other similar pieces of kit) and as thepurpleblob says you can also get software that does it on your PC for much less (or zero) cost.
9. Just PMd RussFM for his address to send it on Edit: Posted to Russ today (14/8/09)

Putting this here rather than in the ebay section as I was more interested in the guitar than the fact that it's on ebay. Anyone come across one of these archtop basses before? Intrigued to know what they sound like. From the website it looks as though they have a cello pin fitted as well so you can play them upright.
11. That Levinson seems to sell well - must have a listen to one sometime, and judging by your other posts I guess that was the ebay Zoot that came back up? I was watching that both times round - nice bass. And as you say the G&L looks good.. But it would look good with the other one... I'd better stop now before I get you into more trouble

14. Not for me but sought by some here - starting bid of £299, Overwater Custom Fretless 4 from the 80s.
15.
Sounds like the best way to me. Learn the chord changes, then put in the fills. The more you learn songs, the easier it gets. A Tascam CD-BT bass trainer will make it easier, as it has a useful looping feature.
+1 on the trainer. I have the MP3 version which is great. You can also slow things down without changing pitch which is useful for those tricky bits. If there are words learn those as well, even if you aren't going to sing them. Will help with knowing when the changes will come.
16. Great work - will be a useful resource I'm sure. Look forward to seeing the finished book
17. I had a reply this morning saying that the bass had gone, but I am watching now for something to turn up (and if that one comes back then great). I'm not in any great hurry but it's a great site to watch I currently have GAS for an unlined fretless jazz, but after my lesson last night maybe I should look at something else. I took my EUB along for my tutor to try (he has a DB) so we played those for a while rather than basses - and I kept falling off the fingerboard looking for the low B Can't believe I have got used to a 5 string so quickly.
18. Thanks for those replies - the post to them was over the weekend so I wasn't expecting a reply until after their working day, but it's good to know what to expect. It was an unlined fretless Japanese Jazz, so I'll keep looking, and prepare for a few sleepless nights
19. Saw a bass I liked the look of on Ishibashi so sent an email enquiry. Didn't get a reply but the bass is now gone (been there for a few days at least). Do I take the fact that it is now not on the site as my answer?
20.
Nah, I reckon just as he was coming round the corner a guy dashed in and bought it and then went round the other corner just as your mate arrived at the shop. A. P. - honest as the day is long (only lasts 24 hours, doesn't it?)
This wouldn't be connected to "London Pro Audio Centre" would it? Website suggests you contact the store owner for info - andy@Lo...
21. Hadn't come across these before - will have a think about this as my wife is also just starting to play and finds the Corvette a bit long. Also incredible that within hours someone comes along looking for parts for the same bass! Link And I also thought the original pic was a bit dark - but levels between the two would be my choice
22. Will look great when the carpet and curtains go in Seriously though, it's amazing to see the work that has gone into it.
