1. Have a bump on me... This bass was ordered by Martin Petersenof the Gallery, in Winter 1996. I collected it 7th Jan 1997, so I always referred to it as a 97. I traded it in 2006 to Bernard Beard. When I had it, there was only one ding on the front of the body and it was tiny. It had an amazing neck. It is very lightly flamed, you can only see it up close and by moving it back and forth. The neck is a satin finish and didnt fade in the 10 years I had it. Soundwise it has what a friend calls the "I am here" sound and sits nicely in a mix but is not drowned out. I've thought about getting back but I prefer 4's and am thinking fretless again. So great bass, someone buy it and I hope the above ramblings help.
2. Where are you based? D'oh your sig was not there when I typed this
3. Tyre kicking question (but it might generate more interest)... Is it a solid black or a transparent one showing wood grain? (it looks like it could be both).
4.
All I have to offer is the truth of my situation and one hell of a deal... -J
In Sterling $2300 is £1567. There's shipping on top of that and the buyer will have to pay VAT (15% or 17.5% forget which) and 3% import tax and both those amounts are calculated with shipping included. So you are looking at around £300 on top of the asking price. That's a very conservative £1800. A new one from the Bass Centre is £2045. IMHO it's not one hell of a deal and there is a certain amount of risk for the buyer. Again IMHO you need to sell this in the US. Also have you not family or close friends that would sub you rent until you got another house mate?
5. QUOTE (Scoop @ Apr 17 2010, 06:06 PM) The quoted price is what I think it's worth. Your opinion on the subject doesn't matter The fact that it's not selling means that the opinion was probably correct. Also if I remember correctly Machinehead couldnt sell a number of Roscoes and blew them out for around £1200. The philosphy of selling gear on this site has always been that buyers and sellers are fair to each other. Just my opinion and I'm aware that it doesnt matter...
6.
This bass was on the market on BC for 400 quid last august from a guy in Scotland, and I put in an offer for much less than that. The guy was ready to sell it but I backed off as I had no funds for that. The idea of the forum is to buy and sell back at more or less the same price as a gesture of goodwill. A good deal should be shared. My opinion is shared with platinum multi-selling bassists like Beedster, Warwickhunt, Clarky etc who will never sell stuff for more than they have bought it for (if bought on BC).
Agree there are some fine gentlemen on this forum. When I first started buying and selling here there was a first come first served etiquette. You progressed the trade with the first person to reply and if that couldn't be worked out to mutual agreement you both moved on.
7.
Ok Ive had a few offers now and will sell to the best offer on 1st April. So if you fancy it...pm me G...
How is this not an auction?
8. Toni I am sure a hijack/bump combo is not a major problem. Keep at the bass playing malarky...
9.
Have a bump on me. I have the Ceriatone clone of this (complete with original 20W greenback) and it's my number 1 amp. They sound completely glorious, and are responsive and juicy even at low volumes.
They are good amps. So, Toni you are a bass player now? Chris

Gamble

Sold Gamble a pedal earlier this year and it was a pleasant transaction. Good communication via PM's and paid when he said he would.
13. CS2

SOLD

You are welcome. Also the point was to help you get hits on search engines not point out your resemblence to sweet deep fried batter.
14. CS2

SOLD

Have another bump. BTW you might want to change the spelling to Ashbory.
15. CS2

SOLD

They are rare in that you cannot get them in every shop in the country. However they are not rare on this board this month. To the seller-keep plugging at it, it will go.

WITHDRAWN

Put the newbie in the pond. If he survives burn him.
22.
Tensions not high, I am actually finding it amusing that 1 person posts a comment that I allegedly made, and everyone has jumped on the bandwagon.
Not everyone sunshine.
23.
I'm more than happy to keep it as a 2nd back up bass because i wasnt going to sell a mint Stingray for an insane £550. I was just echoing the point that people do PM insulting offers, but in all fairness "you don't get if you don't ask". I was pissed off at the offer and I wasn't sure if the guy was being serious. To tell me to "get over it" is a bit insulting as well as I don't really see that there's anything to get over? If i sell it for a reasonable amount of cash then it's all good and if I don't sell it then I've got a fantastic mint condish 4 string Stingray...where's the issue?
The issue seems to be that your story differs from the PM's you sent Classic.
