1. In addition to the above advice, I would recommend that you apply lessons learnt as a bassist, ie theory, scales and don't scoop the mids etc.
2. Bump for lowered price and trade options. I want cash for a bass or two. BTW I am interested in a NXT 4 bass pref amber will consider stealth option.
3.
THIS plus 200 quid? http://basschat.co.u...ertownshend-etc
No thanks. I have plenty of guitars and am trying to get back into bass.
4. Gibson SG Special Faded This is a 2008 (ish) ‘faded’ with minimal finish on the body and neck. Not to be confused with the Special that has a finish on it or the Special that has P90’s. It’s in very good condition and has a Gibson gigbag. Price is lowered to £375 ono. Will consider trades below. Interesting pedals filters etc, and cash my way Specific instruments.. Musicman Stingray rosewood board + I give you mutually agreed cash Swap for Musicman SUB Try me on a bass guitar 4 string roswood MIM or MIJ P or J 3/4 Double Bass and cash either way depending on make/condition Collect from Luton or I will deliver to North (ish) London or Milton Keynes area.
5.
it's a meeting of minds.
This...
6. Currently I'm in two 'bands' and they are slightly unusual. The first one is a church music group that I played bass for 8 years and guitar for 6. There's 3 people on each instrument and we have a rota. It's a big band and so one has to be a bit disciplined in keeping parts sparse. There have been some magic moments but currently there are a lot of people who stare at the music and don't give off any vibes. More later. I also jam with 3 friends and we rotate instruments. I'm technically the bass player as I have more experience. We improvise instrumentals for 4 hours at a time. We have been up to 1 a month but one guy moved abroad so it's been 2-3 a year. He's back so we should pick up again. There are more magic moments than not and here's why. We knew each other via a musician board and we had arranged massive sessions in central London with as many as 10 guitarists drinking ourselves stupid (I know). Three of us got together to jam in a living room (with edrums, headphones). At the very first ahem rehearsal we discovered that we were completely on the same page musically. It didnt matter what combination we tried, it worked. Ok I can only do one drum beat but it worked. We decided to rehearse in a studio and the magic was still there. After a year or two a friend of one of the guys did the big puppy eyes thing and begged to come along. He was a bedroom player and initially killed the magic stone dead. We worked with him and after 5-6 rehearsal he got it and there's magic most times. The reason IMHO is that some players communicate. I don't mean shout out chorus but stop dead, change feel, change tempo and it's instant. Someone does a bum note and someone else fills in/plays more. The only way I can explain it is that there's a line from me to the other person or persons or there's not. In our band there's a line from each person to each person most of the time. In the church band it's barely there with one person most of the time nowadays. I know what I mean.
7. Two possibly helpful points... 1 This is the original paint job by Jason Myrold and is not currently available 2 ZVex have run out of chips so the pedal will be discontinued at some point in the future
8. I was going to make a comment re great playing but thought better of it.
9. What I cannot understand is that the band replaced a DB player with an electric one and wondered why it didn't sound the same.
10. Non expedier, merci. Bon chance, c'est un jolie basse.
11. Ou est vous habite? Pardon, Je parlez Francais tres mal.

SOLD

I bought mine off Clarky. Super portable, you can carry it on the train after too much Jack. The bass response is excellent.
13. I have a Keeley Compressor, please let me know if you are interested.
14. Mick Karn had a unique way of playing, note choice and timing... If you want to learn fretless you are IMHO going to have to learn how to play fingerstyle. You can do that on your fretted, whilst saving up for a fretless. The aforementioned Squier jazz is ok and excellent for the money.
15. I have just sold Gavin a pedal. He kept me informed at each point of the transaction and did what he said he would do, when he said that he would do it. I know what I mean.. Good to deal with.

Feedback for CS2

AKA CS AKA Chris I did have a feedback thread years ago but I don't seem to now.
17. Roundabout gone.
18. Roundabout AB pedal on hold pending etc. Shameless bump as these pedals are starting to go now.
19. Echotap is gone For the remaining items, sensible and silly offers considered. The Robotalk is a filter pedal if you have not heard of it. NO longer made the RBII is different. The Keeley is 6 months old and barely used. The Whetstone is a versatile phaser, vibe, tremolo and ring mod. THe Wah is the deluxe mod with positions for too bright, too bassy and just right for guitar. THe too bassy setting is great for filter sweeps. Anyone is welcome to try the pedals in Luton, timewasters welcome and given tea...
20.
thanks for the information,I always liked the sound of status basses, just can't get into the feel of them.I don't have any guide as to price to ask,I know its not really relevant but can you remember what you paid in 89? cheers.
They were £800 new and used prices have varied as the market varies. They are a lot of bass if you like the feel. The neck is slimmer than the Series 2/Series2000 models.
21. They made these basses from approx 88-89 to 90-91. It was succeeded by the 4000 which was the same but had a composite body instead of cherry, walnut or mahogany. I bought one new in April 1989 and it was serial number 053 (it was walnut). Great basses. Useless information-the active circuit has a preset eq like a gull wing graphic curve and the tone control actually cuts treble. The tone control is passive and gives the best of both worlds from a Jaco type muted sound to a bright slap sound from one control. I'm missing mine now so bye.
