1.
Precisely. Poor use of vocab on my part. Whether they get what they're asking is a totally different thing.
It was me it pendantic mode but with some sellers you never know...
2.
The buyer also has the right to sell an item for however much or little as they like as it has a certain value to them.
Actually..no..the buyer has the right to ask for however etc. Some things have a high residual value (Lovetone, Carl Thompson) and others do not (the aforementioned Stingray-lovely basses btw). Some buyers for various reasons (ignorance or greed) want the top price for their items. We have done it before but this is a message board and not a sale site. So if someone wants £1k for a 2 year old Stingray in std colours, do we owe it to potential ripped off buyers that you can get a new one for this price? Some buyers have requested more for limited editions, gold hardware whatever and explained it. Fair do's. Being civil to each other should be a given.
3. The numpty element has always been there. Some people do it because some numbskull seller wants retail for a used item. Some people do it to be contentious. This is a good board for buying and selling and one has to put up with the bad (which I didnt do re my previous post) ^_^
4. I wasnt involved in this set of recent compalints but here's my opinion anyway... I inquired about a bass and didnt have the money. Made a tentative request to look at the bass a few months later when I did have the money. This was tentively accepted. No problem. So a couple of months later said bass was re-advertised at £100 more. Did I publicly complain? No. I was the first person to answer and PM a bass and wanted to see/play it. I got an answer busy till next week and it was obvious that there were other offers and I was on the back burner. Then I got another 'next week' so I said ok and left it. Buyer didnt contact me so ok. Did I publicly complain? No. Stingrays are not selling at the moment. Get over it. I sold a Sterling in admittedly poor cond. for £500ish in 2007 cos I needed the money. Buyer was pleasant etc but sold it a week later. Did I complain? No. Did I complain when someone bought and sold my Warwick? No. If you are selling something it is only worth what people will pay for it. Sell it, keep it but do it quietly. Arrogant offers are something else. Just dont sell that person anything ever. Rant over.
5.
In all honesty the reason my friend isn't selling it is because he is currently in prison but thats not the sort of thing i really wanted to tell people. As a result i have technically inherited but i wish to sell it for him. I hope that clears up the confusion. Anyway, bass is still for sale for £900 or £870 if you want to save me posting it and pick it up. Cheers.
I can see why you didnt want to go there. Cue joke questions if he's inside for stealing basses. I did a prison gig once. Best audience (started off a bit sticky) I've ever had. A very nice bunch of people. Good luck with the sale and keep on looking after your mate.
you might wana condsider ebay mate, noone with money seems to want ray's on this forum at the moment, or many other basses for that matter..
If you look at EBay people are bidding around £400-500 and the ones around £650 with a buy it now price only are not going. IMHO because residuals are low for Stingrays people dont appear to be wanting to pay a decent price for them. I myself are semi interested but with apologies to the seller I'm not going to pay £700 for a Stingray even though this time last year it was a decent price. Still is. Keep it.
7. There were some guidelines posted (cannot find them anymore) that if anyone wanted to query a price that they do it via PM. However it's been a tradition of sorts to do it openly (on most of the bassworld type boards). BTW my local shop has a black new one for £1189 if that's not a breach of ettiquette.
8. All pedals still available except Little Big Muff which has gone.
9. Depends if you are buying or selling.
10. No samples and I still dont have a bass. I will be in Bristol/Avonmouth on business April May time if you want to try it.
11. Apologies. It was £30 plus postage. There has been some interest in this pedal and has been haggled down to £30 with postage or delivery.
12.
trade the mojo vibe for anythin i have for sale in my sig??
Thanks for the offer, I am trying to raise cash.
13. I dont have a paypal account. If that's going to be a problem let me know and I'll get one. Apologies for being a Luddite but how do I get the money out of my paypal account?
14. I am based in Luton, but I travel a lot. Unfortunately I was in Sheffield twice last month and dont think I will be there again for a while. It was a general offer and I didnt see that you are in Sheffield until now.
15. OOH while I think about it I have tried the LPB1 with a borrowed Squier Precision and it's a great little booster. I didnt use it for dirt just to boost the amp a bit. Sounds neutral to me but I have heard it described as being voiced "bassy". I've tried the Bassballs with said Precision and it's great. It does sound a little bit like a Lovetone Meatball (ok no as flexible but it's ballpark near IMHO)
16. Ok Clips-no I don't have any clips of the Blackstone. Also I (shock horror) dont own a bass at this time so cannot make any. It's not that a bassy pedal so I suspect it wont sound great with a bass. I live in Luton if anyone is local and wants to try it. I'm in London next weekend so Sat morning I can take the underground to anyone in London who wants to try it (you make the tea) I also work in MK and travel so if anyone wants to try nefore they buy that is an option. Postage-I'd rather meet up (see above paragraph) but registered postage for one pedal is about £5. Getting boxes and them quaver things is easy so I'll do it for £5 a pedal. Last time I did it I shipped before I got the checques. Dont really want to do that again. What's the etiquette on shipping stuff? Not owning a bass-I'm about to pull the trigger on a bass of some sort but cannot make my mind up which. I've narrowed it down to a Precision, NS WAV or an Ashbory. That shortlist should explain why I cannot make my mind up.
17. I played Flanker's black Celinder Jazz a couple of years ago. Best bass I ever played.
18. Have a bump. These are nice basses I couldnt get on with 6 strings. I was local so thought I'd have a go. Kev is a very nice chap so buy these basses.
