  1. Its an aesthetic issue when you pay that sort of money. Is this art or convenience.? Because you can have both.
  2. Always been a bugbear with me. I do understand because of the preamp layout they have to put the knobs in certain places, but surely when you go to the highest end of instrument aesthetics as Fodera do, you would want the knobs to flow with the design. They just look like an afterthought plastered on the front of the bass. Maybe its just me.
  3. Im from Cheltenham. Im not mad, ish.
  4. That is lovely. Does tend to make you wonder why someone in Cheltenham is asking £22,000 for a clean 65 because it is a rare colour with a matching headstock.
  5. You just don't see these for sale. really nice bass.
  6. Im sure they are amazing instruments. but there are a huge amount of high end makers Jazz Basses out there who put just as much work into the making of there instruments without the 3/4 year waiting list.. I can't help but think, this a bit of marketing hype, and Stenbeck are the new Jazz Bass on steroids, thats in fashion right now.. Paul Turner has endorsed them, so even better.
  7. I would beware of the neck in direct prolonged sunlight. Some woods don't like intense temperature changes.
  8. It does until someone asks you to play it. Then it dawns on you.
  9. The bass playing is just....
  10. Return of the Boom Bap. An old school HipHop underground classic. Great drums/bass line . He starts rapping amazingly at 1.35.. Imo.
  11. Can I say the reason was I was too stoned when I posted it.?
  12. Am I missing something, or can we not delete posts.?
  13. Probably in my top 10 favourite Jazz Funk record's. Jimmy's bass playing is just way out there groove. Ferrante's keys are just fantastic...Bobby Lyle on Piano. I had never heard groove like this before until I heard this and mezzoforte
  14. Would anyone here play a £23,000 bass live.?
  15. Maybe ask in the Double Bass section,?
  16. I had a pink one and then a white one. They say everything about how good Japanese basses are and still are.
  17. This is from an MIJ 75 RI Jazz bass. I don' need it. Is scratched but not cracked It's a 3 ply. Collect only.

    Wax.?

My local tech guy said only use a very small amount with 100% cotton. Leave it for 5 minutes, then rub the wood clean of any excess.

    Wax.?

    Lemon Oil it is.

    Wax.?

A friend is a carpenter, and he has worked with rosewood for 20 years or so. He said, use it in very small amounts, and it will absorb into the wood after an hour, then polish it. Of course he doesn't know anything about guitars. What would be the difference here..?

    Wax.?

Im wanting to wax my fretboard. Its an unfinished Brazilian rosewood (I was told). This species is now banned I believe. So I want to be careful what I put on it. I have this Wax called Antiquax. Is this ok to use. ? Any thoughts.?
  22. An ordinary F Bass..? is that even possible. Maybe dead strings.?
  23. My sisters husbands Rickenbacker. It was awful.. Horrible to hold/play, tone wasn't for me (personally), it was like a boat anchor, neck was like a bass ball bat.. He played what I had at the time, which was a Maruszczyk Elwood Jazz 5 and didn't like it. Each there own.
  24. Im sure there are millions of people out there who wouldn't dream of giving up there very expensive separates. (CD/Tuner/Turntable,etc)
