  1. Sonically its horrendous for me. But Picasso is horrendous for my eyes also. just sayin.
  2. Thinking Outside the Box . Haven't heard it for ages. As most of his albums they are full of great drumming and musicianship. Always funky/neo soul. One of my favourite from this album. Great lyrics and she says it all about Bush.
  3. We all need more pics of this bad boy.
  4. This thread was always part 2 of Pete's (Pete Academy) original. A little tribute of his passing today.. He told me this was always one of his favourites to play live.
  5. Randy HOPE Taylor's solo on this is just amazing. Starts at 2,40. the perfect finger style mixed with slap and the double stop pop. Just an incredible bass player. Imo.
  6. Incognito. Julian Crampton..Jacobs Ladder. Ive seen him play this live on an F Bass and it was flawless.
  7. Whats not to like. Fantastic playing.
  8. Ok not strictly a short solo in a song. But...Without doubt this from Victor is just an incredible solo/cover of Earth Wind and Fire's classic. . Obviously he's recorded 2 parts, the solo part using a filter of sorts.. The whole song is just musically fabulous bass playing from him.. The master at work Imo..
  9. Just make sure there single coils.
  10. The Ash was way to heavy, it was nearing 11 pounds. So I ordered the Alder, that was on my scales just over 10. It was a lot better, but just a pound to heavy. Of course these were 5vers. The White V7 4 was more comfortable. The Sei 5 is 7.5 which is perfect. Slightly smaller swamp ash body like a Sadowsky. Great to play a bass that is light that can punch like a heavy weight.
  11. I had 2 V7 5s. Maple then a Rosewood. Nothing wrong with the frets, lovely neck, construction, looked amazing. For £429 its a no brainer. But the weight. Just too heavy, its such a shame because they are such great instruments let down by one detail.. Sounded epic through Aguilar though.
  12. Sorry this is bollocks There are 100,s if not 1000,s of great bass lines since the 80s that were played on an electric bass. Or is it just the greatest basslines you like.? If it's of absolutely no importance to you what other bass players do, why bother commenting. In fact why even take part in the forum
  13. Wow 2 years. I don't think I could sit at the window waiting for the courier for that long.
  14. Heres a question. What would you have. A top of the line NYC Sadowsky,..lets say from Thomann, for 6 grand + or a Full Fat all the bells and whistles Sei Jazz built to your own spec for probably 4 grand. Oh and you can't sell either.. Just interested.
  15. The usual Marta thread always descends into pointless garbage. If she was fat and ugly this thread wouldn't even be here.
  16. They can't be everywhere
  17. Ultra shites
  18. How you got Bollocks past BC I'm not sure. But again I've been educated by the mighty BRX.
  19. Ahh interesting. Walbassist, I've tried that but after time tuners (I think) wear, and the tolerances when they were made decrease. There is a thing with (some) tuner's, that when you tune up a string, you have to wind down, then wind up to tune properly, ( because of the gap/slip in the cog mechanism . Ive been told by a good source that USA Ultralites have so little give in the mech that you can wind down and tune perfectly. This is not cow poop I googled it. 😁 But without joke they have had there day, and the bass deserves them, and I have some spare cash. The thing is what would suit it better.? LollyPops or Clover Leafs.?
  20. Im not sure too be honest WOT, I can't imagine Martin fitting crap tuners, but who knows, there gonna go. The Sei is gonna be spoilt with a new set. 😀.. This is why I'm confused. From Bass Direct. I know I want chrome but what are the size measurements revering to. I guess its the the stem length.? http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Hipshot,_Ultra_light_Tuners.html
  21. Looking put some new tuners on the bass. But I'm not sure if Hipshot Ultra light would be a direct ( measurement wize) replacement. I'm not even sure if these are Hipshot on the bass. It's quite an old Sei so what Martin put on it I'm not sure. I've had the strings off and they do wobble a little. Bushes wearing.? Who knows. Anyways I'm aware they do a lollypop design and the clover design. Not sure which one would suit. ? In fact I know nothing about reverse/ratio tuners etc etc. Any info would be great. What do you guys recommended.? Cheers.
