  1. Was that the Sei J5 with a dark wood top.?
  2. The Genz Benz 6.2 amp is a beast.. I knew it was a really great amp before I bought it, and it really is an amazing bit of kit, I actually prefer it to my old Aguilar AG500 head. I didn't realise how good a lightweight head could sound. But the Genz Benz Focus 210 cab is just outstanding. The fact that it was in Genz Benz's lower priced range, I can't fault it for £150 and sounds huge. Superb sounding lightweight setup... Plug the Sei Jazz in and its all I need.
  3. I suspect this has sold by PM by now surely.
  4. A Maruszczyk for £250. Are you mad.? In 10 years on BC and Bass world 've never seen a bargain like this. The case is worth a 3rd of that.
  5. Where do you guys get these YT gems from.?
  6. Thats some great question/answer playing with Miles and Foley on the first vid at 4.00. his playing is just wow onwards. really enjoyed that . cheers.
  7. you need those chords/depth.
  8. Awesome interesting drumming from the man. Only boring 4/4 time.
  9. I usually love Chris's playing, but I think this is just going too far. The bass player deserves an award for his inner timing. I can hear some really clever things going on with the bass and drums now and again.. But a lot of it on the surface just sounds awful I don't care how clever it is. Especially with that Sax, god awful. I love Jazz/Funk etc but this is where I draw the line.
  10. Wow. Really early Ken Smith. Made by Ken in the late 70's for the man.
  11. I really like Action Bronson. Great bassline PawelG
  12. Please. Has to be soul funk jazz etc. I know thousands but it surprised me how many I know with Drums/Bass/Guitar/Keys only.... . I think I know a cracker but its missing one or the other. 😩 Any ideas. Cheers.
  13. A Sire is just a no brainer. Will blow Fender away for the money you want to spend.. Even if you bought a second hand from Fender the Sire would match it.
  14. Learn scales etc. Then listen listen listen to music while playing. Work out what is going on musically while playing. Good bass teachers are hard to come by.depending on where you are in the country. Also, what Grangur said. There is no right way. It depends on the learner.
  15. I did the same 8 years ago. I tracked down the guy I sold it to on BC and he sold it back to me. YAY.
  16. Why not just get a passive jazz.?
  17. Yes only on board Nancy. This is a onboard preamp favourite. Glock Noll Delano Pope East Sadowsky Audere ACG Bartolini Fender GB electronics Aguilar Xotic Alembic Haz Labs Creation Audio Tone Styler I'm sure there are lots more
  18. Ok I will go with a John East U Retro. I does everything I need. I'l be honest it's a bit wobbly on the controls. But this thing sounds incredible to be honest. Had a Sonus 2 band before,. Didnt like. The Glock stuff is wow What your favorite pre.?
  19. Im used to the East pre. U Retro. Stacked Volume pickup selector switched by the toggle.then bass with a Treble selector. With an up switching being the bright bright sound. And then the tone knob. 2 switches one active passive. The other switch engages your want to from bam to front. I don't think explained that we'll.
  20. What is the tone like. Very comprehensive I'm sure. Is it a Mike pope preamp, if so/ can you take me through the controls Hiram.? Strings, what the EMG's are like. It s stacking up to be a bright instrument on the emg's alone imo
  21. Im sure if I played yours I would forget about it. Because that is superb.
  22. Sorry but I don't know which dude is beholding your eye. If I smoked some northern lights I might get close. .. I would still absolutuley love to play one though.
