About 20 years ago I knew a guy who had a lovely Vigier bass, one night he tripped over his lead, yanked the bass of it's stand & took about a 4 inch area of paint clean off it. He was pretty heartbroken. Anyway, a year or so later he sent the bass back to Mr Vigier for a re-fret. When the bass came back it had been completely refinished & had a note in the case to the effect "thought you would appreciate having it back to new, no charge, regards PV".
Wow.. what a nice man...

9. apart from that amazing ACG, that 7 string Sei must sound biblical .. what is the pre and pups? als whats the weight like..?
10. This bass is my first love of electric bass.. its a custom Hamer Impact 5 string.. they were £3000 in 1989...they are so rare, and are mega bucks now.......apparently a very versatile bass with EMG's and a Bartolini 3 band eq... on the Hamer foum they were know for there light weight... 9- from what ive been told, there were only 10 made like this, but with different wood combo's...one had a natural flame maple top, with a darker wood body..matching headstock.. the Hamer tick in mother of pearl fret markers, on a brazilian mother of pearl binded rosewood board... now that is an exotic bass.
11. Now this is rare... refin but original 68 Jazz with original special custom order gold hardware, and matching headstock with gold Fender logo.. wowzer..
12. when i was 10 my dad who is a classical pianist, and we used to listen to music, told me to..... listen.
13. The best most comfortable 5 ive ever played was a Sting Ray 5, comfort, punchy tone..effortless... .. going from 4 to 5 was fairly easy. going to 6 was a little more time consuming.. i always found a wide neck more difficult.. my ultimate 5 string would have a very narrow, jazz like neck, with 18/19 string spacing at the bridge..
14. me.... recording with a couple of friends from my flat... and playing in a big caravan/motor home with a rapper...

20.
I tried a 55-02 and 55-01 recently and really liked them. In the day where I also tried an Overwater Perception and an older series Fender American deluxe V, the Overwater 55-02 was my favourite by far. I really liked the neck profile which surprised me. I never really liked the profile of four string Laklands I have tried, but on the five it just seemed right. I wasn't entirely convinced by the electronics of either the 55-01 or 02, but they could easily be switched out. The overall build quality seemed pretty good on all the ones I tried as well, a much better 'good ones to dogs' ratio than Fender. Still regardless of that I have a hard time believing that the 55-02 Skylines are really a £1200 bass. But I think a £1200 bass is fairly different from it used to be, in terms of buying from shops.
Do you mean they are not worth the asking price of £1200?
