1. WOW.! you VERY rarely see these Fender's come up for sale. I've never actually seen one for sale. Beautiful..
2.
http://celinderbass.com/
i could be wrong, but he doesn't make instruments anymore.?
3.
Quite taken by contoured jazz style shapes like these
erm didn't you just say you wanted to move away from a jazz bass style.? Sei everyday of the week for me. but as always with a custom you really need to know what you want.

she is mine also. groove like no other imo. good luck with the sale bro.
5.
We all do that sort of stuff over tracks when goofing around, ...I just wouldn't post it.
Would love to hear your playing when your goofing around dude.
6. Uncle P is spot on. and i think you lot are being picky. . know ones saying that this would work in the context of the song to be released as a record. this is just a guy playing along to a record and should be seen as such. but his playing is very exciting imo. yes its experimental, and yes he's having fun. but that doesn't stop it being some great playing. i love hearing guys like this playing a bass part to there own. especially one as good as Mr Kabas. he's a great bass player with huge groove. really can't see the problem with anything I'm hearing. but as always, the word subjective is a must.

SOLD

That Tobias is sick.!! have a bump.
8. I've been cleaning the house and its been a joy, because this is playing. by the way the bass playing is either Richard Bull on the keys, or Francis on the stringed thing. . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44x7Le_sI-Y
9. NOT NE MORE.!! its only one bloody track. yes bought the album.!!!
10. Mr Kabas is always good imo bar one vid.. i disagree about the slapping. very tastefully done. can't see a problem with it at all, if anything, it adds a bit of bite to the groove. great vid thanks for posting MudPup. i really do think sometimes some people have an inherent hatred of slap bass, and can't seem to distinguish bad slap from good slap, but its all subjective of course.
11. Great album's stay with you, make you feel good, make you want to dance, make you feel emotional, make you think. this album does all of those things they only made one album, before Carleen did her own thing. No doubt Road to Freedom is in my top 10. a great mix of hip hop, soul and funk. the harmonies are just fantastic. very special music in my opinion. I've listen to this album so many times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ky45KVdYdzc
12. Yeah i like Atlantic Star's original. but i think Bluey has done it better. I'm not a fan boy but he rarely gets it wrong imo. i presume you didn't mean to give us a link to that.?
13. this is a great great record. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dPanYyzIKk
14.
We're off to interview Francis Hylton in a couple of weeks time.. ;-)
very cool. i spoke to him at a gig and he was the nicest person. just very friendly and has all the time in the world to talk to you.
15. sure is good. Going to see them in July.
16. i always thought she was a superb talent. Beautiful woman also. great on a Les Paul.
17. this is something very special from Shuya Okino. this is very cool also. when she starts singing. just WOW. groove central. http ://www.youtube....h?v=tyCWKP-MnX8
18.
of course, seeing as we're all jazzfunkateers at heart, maybe we should give a shout out to James Mason too and for any of the tracks on the Rhythm of Life LP
thats one of the best jazz funk records ever written in my opinion. James Mason is a master of this genre.. on of my favourite
19. another classic that was covered by the SunBurst Band with Joey Negro, with Julian Crampton on bass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bbVXSl91iY
20. yeah its a cracker Geoff. Don Blackman plays piano on a lot of it. he might even have played on this record.
21. I love this album. its astounding to think he was 19 when he recorded it. Smokin music from one of the great keyboard/piano players of the late 70's early 80's. Bernard's playing on the rest of the album is incredible. arranged by Bernard Wright. I'm not sure of the bassist on this record, but it was either Marcus Miller or Barry Johnson. I've a hunch it was Barry Johnson, just doesn't sound like Marcus's style to me, but i could be wrong. .
22.
I think that's exactly the point for me Andrew. He's just doing what a bass player is supposed to do and doing it superbly. What was that old saying about less is more? P.S. I was referring to 'I'm a Man' and NOT 'If You Leave Me Now' which i loathe!
sorry Geoff. i edited my post.
23. i can't see the astounding bit, but yes, he's on the money with the groove.. the drummer is fantastic. do love Chicago. by the way dad3353 that is a fabulous record.
24. a totally outrageous record from Bill and this band.. amazing playing from all. great bass playing from Snarky's Michael League. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia9PLzX1RUM
