They are very much a part of me. I play them hard but look after them really well. They get a lot of care and attention. I went through so many trying to find the "one", and like you, sold on to make way for something else that I thought, would be the one I would bond with properly. I really want a connection with my instruments. I don't want to think about what is potentially lacking when I'm in the middle of writing, recording or playing live. Once I found what I was looking for, and I have (2 of them and identical apart from colour), my GAS went and I mean, really went. I got my first keeper back in 2014 and have not looked back, hence why I got a second one. They really are my pride and joy but my workhorses, too. Treat them well, play them as they should be played, and they will give you years of loyal service and enjoyment. In my opinion of course. I will never move these on. I have found my home 😊⭐ PS I still have my first pro bass that my parents bought me in 1986. That stays in its case and is in immaculate condition still. It has been modded to the spec of Steve Harris' bass. I will never get rid of it for sentimental reasons.

My first rig was a black Marlin Slammer bass and a 25-watt MArlin bass amp. I felt like I was Steve Harris. Wonderful memories. Wish I had kept them 😊😎

Talk by a country mile, for me. Such a wonderful, uplifting album. Highly underrated, and not accepted by most Yes fans, which in my humble opinion, is such a shame.

I used to play on the right leg but now, when sat down, I play on the left leg. It just makes so much more sense as the body, neck and left hand positions remain the same when standing, with a strap. It felt weird initially, but I adjusted quickly. Not sure why I didn’t do it from the beginning.

Thank you so much everyone. That was really, really helpful. I’ve decided to buy a good gig bag and an SKB Roto case with the ATA locks. Better than buying a bass I don’t want to play as a “just in case”. I’ll also phone ahead and get it checked in to the hold, at the gate as “oversized” baggage. This is being booked by the promoter so, as is always the case unless you are Iron Maiden, they will be looking to save as much money as possible. Wise words though, I will have to call. I’d just like to hear any bass players experiences with Easy Jet. Cheers ⭐️

Has anyone flown with their bass on Easy Jet? I have a gig in Switzerland in December. I have flown to so many countries with what have seemed to be, very reliable carriers. I have travelled with my main basses but I’ve never done it with Easy Jet. I’m a tad cautious about them, and therefore thinking about buying a 2nd hand bass that will be “replaceable”. Any stories, good or bad, about your experiences, please?

He originally used Quarter Pounders, I believe. I put them in my Precision because he used them, along with a Badass II bridge 😉

I used to cramp a lot about 17 years ago. It was all down to how the bass sat on me, and therefore how my hand angles were on the neck and over over the body of the bass. I went to a local bass teacher / friend as I thought it was technique, which it partly was. As soon as I started playing for him, he saw it immediately. I lowered the bass by a considerable amount to get the angles right i.e. no more right angles where the blood flow is restricted, and presto, I have never cramped since during a show. It was a revelation. Simple, small adjustments was all that was needed. Amazing. Keep hydrated too, that does help. Good luck 😊

How much? $30 for a download? $10,000 for a day in the studio and a bass that costs around £1100.00. I was never a fan of the crowdfunding thing. It always seemed like a begging bowl situation. I know it has worked for bands, and worked well but to me, it's a business and if you believe in your product, you invest in your product and hopefully with hard work and a bit of luck, like anything in life, you can recoup / make a profit and continue to work at your business. $50,000 for a solo bass album? Really? Sorry if my comments p**s anyone off, just my opinion

I'd invite them both back for another run through of the songs but let them know that they have been "whittled" done to, the last 2 singers. They don't have to know that there weren't other applicants and maybe, knowing that they are "THE" two choices, it may give them added incentive to pick up their games either 1) vocally and 2) communication and enthusiasm wise. I think nerves may also have a part to play, too. It manifests itself in funny ways sometimes. Meeting new people especially in a group situation can be quite unnerving, as we are all aware. Maybe a 2nd audition will improve their confidence. Good luck either way ⭐

The stability is just amazing. Glad you decided to keep it too. There is bugging like them out there, in my opinion. Like you, I’ve had Dingwalls along with many other great basses but this is honestly the first time I feel wholly at home with a bass. Enjoy and go try an Excess 5 as well 😉

The necks really are beautiful. They just feel right and in the end, that was the final selling point for me. I played a Yamaha 2025x and my amber one back to back, it was no contest, for me. A very smooth, comfortable feel. I hope you get one soon, @ped. What would you have?
