  1. Hi All! Well this is something I didn't foresee doing anytime soon, however it came back to me in trade again, I love love love this bass, but I pretty much exclusively use my 4003s and nothing else gets a look in so time for it to go to someone who’ll play it and cherish it. So as the title suggests this is a Limelight/House Of Tone hybrid. Mark has done the body, neck, bridge and covers. Matt has done the pickups, the wiring and the assembly. I put together the parts, the celluoid aged pickguard, the fender stamped tuners, the gotoh aged neck plate and control plate, I believe there to have been literally no expense spared on building this bass and IMHO and other who have heard and played it, it's an absolute masterpiece. It also will come with a Mono Strap, Fender Straplock, red fretwrap and a Fender Tweed Hardcase and I am more than happy to ship as I have a suitable box. Overall this has cost me the best part of £1300 in total and I believe it has been worth every penny. The action is just perfect, the tone is absolutely wild and the overall playability is sublime. I am reluctantly selling, I need to raise cash and obviously this will take priority. In terms of trades, really this is secondary as in an ideal world i’m after a straight sale, however as I am getting a lot of trade offers, I won’t be looking for another Jazz Bass, I am not wanting a P Bass as I get bored with them very quick, I don’t need a fretless as I don’t use one, I don’t want/need a new bass amp as I am very happy with my head and cab setup currently. I am also not looking to part with any cash as that would be defeating the whole purpose of this sale. If push comes to shove and I do take a trade I would really like a 2 Band EQ Stingray or a G&L L2000. Please ignore the price at the top, i am looking at £750 shipped to your front door. I am based in Saltney just outside of Chester. Any questions just ask. Thanks. Tim
  2. This is my little beauty. Body and neck Limelight, House Of Tone Custom Jazz Pups and wiring loom, Fender Branded tuners and celluloid aged scratch plate. Literally the best jazz I have ever owned/ever will own. Just ticks every box.

  4. So this is a feeler just to gauge some interest in this beautiful bit of wood! I got this in trade for my SBMM from lojo of this here parish. It’s a Q serial 70’s Reissue Precision Bass in my favourite combo of Natural with Maple Neck. For a 15 year old bass it’s in excellent condition and has been very well maintained with well below average signs of use. This is quite a rarity in as much as the pickup has been factory fitted in reverse position. In my opinion this gives the bass a very unique, punchier tone and sound in comparison to the standard configuration. Plays as good as she looks, and has had a recent full setup at House Of Tone in Chester. Prior to me getting this, the wiring loom has been upgraded with CTS pots etc (KiOgon Of basschat fame) and It’s had quite a few upgrades since I’ve had it, the pickguard has had to be custom made because of the pickup configuration, it’s a red celluloid guard and wasn’t cheap (£70) I do however still have the original white one. The tuners were a bit crap to say the least, so I’ve had them changed out for official Fender branded 70’s style tuners, again I have still got the originals. I have subsequently had the pickup & bridge covers fitted. On top of this I’ve had the pickup changed out for a House Of Tone House Special P, sublime pickups and which has opened up no end of tone from this monster bass, however I have kept the original. It will come with an excellent SBMM padded gigbag and all the original parts and will be well packed if shipping is needed. Just to be clear I am not looking for trades, just cold hard cash. However Packaging and postage is included in the price! Any questions just ask.
  5. 2 x Brand New sets of Rotosound, these are the PSD (Piano String Design) Stainless Steel Long Scale 34", Standard gauge 45-105 (RS99LDG) 1 - 0.045" 2 - 0.065" 3 - 0.085" 4 - 0.105” Bought in error as I need ball ends as opposed to the PSD ends. So if you offer trades for other sets of strings may well be interest. £30 a set or £50 for the pair plus postage if required. Rotosound quote - Originally developed under the Rotosound name as ‘Super Bass’ in 1974. Later that year the ‘Superwound’ string company was formed to incorporate all types of bass and guitar strings with the ‘piano string design’. A specialist string design that utilises the contact core concept. That is the same as piano strings whereby only the core is exposed over the bridge of the instrument. These sets comprise of a ‘ball and cone’ system or ‘adjustable ballends’ so that the correct cover termination distance of around 6mm from the bridge saddles is achievable with the many different long scale models out there. The increased sustain and presence is unmatched by any other string, at the same time freeing up those upper harmonics that would otherwise be lost. It is also important to note that the action will be slightly reduced using these strings. Stanley Clarke once stated that these strings were ‘the hottest sound I have ever heard”
  6. Bought a TC Polytune. Arrived well packaged. Great communications to boot. Deal with confidence.

  8. Hi All. I have recently acquired a bit of an anomaly... I have a factory original CIJ P bass but the pickup has been reverse mounted. there’s no big hole routing underneath the guard so it can’t be switched around. I however... hate white/parchment guards on a Natural body preferring a dark brown tortoiseshell guard... the problem is I am struggling to find a suitable pickguard because of the reverse pickup... so can anyone shed any light on to where can I get a replacement pickguard to fit this curiosity? Thanks Tim
  9. Hi All. Up for grabs is my Sterling By Music Man Ray 35, awesome bass, but the project I was going to use this for has fallen through so i'm letting it go as I already have 3 other basses. Basses from Sterling by MusicMan are perfect for players seeking the MusicMan vibe at a more affordable price. These instruments are accurate versions of popular Music Man guitars and basses with no compromise on quality or materials. Sterling by MusicMan pledges to make a bass that will deliver the performance you need. Each instrument is inspected, setup and played. I have done some significant upgrades including changing the stock electrics out for much better quality gear. This includes: A Nordstrand MM 5.4 pickup & a John East MMSR 3 Band/4 Knob Preamp. I no longer have the stock electrics, but I firmly believe that the upgrades wouldn't require you to ever need them anyway. This was all professionally fitted by Matt Bascetta at House Of Tone and it truly is a beast of a bass. It kicks like a mule and is super versatile and adaptable with the upgraded Preamp and Pickup. These are circa £950 brand new and that's without any of the above changes/upgrades (which in total cost over £400), so come on & grab an absolute bargain. Make me an offer, worse I can say is no :-) Will come with its gigbag. Shipping included in price. Any questions, please feel free to ask away. Make me an offer, the worse I can say is no 🙂! Techy stuff: The BTB-MMSR 4 Knob, including Mid Sweep, has been designed with characteristics very similar to the original MM Stingray© 2 Band EQ, but is not a copy of the original circuit. The original used a single op-amp chip (single amplifier stage in the form of a chip) for both bass and treble circuits, whereas this unit utilises a more modern dual op-amp chip (two amplifiers stages in a chip). The bass and treble are stacked which allows inclusion of a mid sweep, along with original MM style bass and treble, on a 4 knob plate. When the mid boost/cut is centered, its effect is neutral and the EQ is purely late 70s MM style. This unit is supplied fully wired, including 3 single pots, 1 stacked pot, knobs, jack and battery clip, which may be spliced into an existing battery box, as would be available, in most cases. · Single Knob - VOLUME · Single Knob - Late 70s MM style TREBLE · Single Knob - Late 70s MM style BASS · Stack Knob - MID / MID FREQUENCY SWEEP (Mid Sweep 01) POWER REQUIREMENTS: 9-18V, 2.5mA Technical BASS & TREBLE CONTROLS The design of the 2 band EQ in the early Stingray© basses is unusual in that it does not follow the types of topologies around which the majority of equalisers are designed. It would seem that Leo Fender designed it to create a particular sound rather than follow any conventions, such as symmetrical EQ curves. Consequently the figures shown may appear unusual to those familiar with such specifications. In fact it's not easy to portray what this EQ does with a few numbers, but in any case some figures, based around a flat response input signal, are quoted as reference points. NOTE: Like the original Bass/Treble EQ, this circuit does not have a flat response when the controls are set midway. This unit is not designed as a clinical tool, where what goes in, comes out at some reference setting. However, the Mid Sweep circuit does have a neutral setting in order to preserve the original feel of the Bass & Treble EQ. TREBLE (+20dB / -16dB @ 10 kHz) There is more boost than cut, giving rise the characteristic 'sizzle' associated with the Stingray© style of EQ. BASS (+14dB / -7dB @ 40Hz) The bass control has a little more boost than the original. The boost curve continues to rise towards the lower frequencies, without flattening out at any frequency within the normal bass guitar range. Conversely the cut characteristic is shelving, having an essentially flat response from 30 - 100Hz, when fully cut. MID LEVEL & FREQUENCY BOOST/CUT (+/-12dB) The upper knob sets the amount of Mid boost or cut at frequencies according to the setting of the Frequency knob. The midway indent is the 'flat' setting. FREQUENCY (100Hz - 1kHz or 200Hz - 2kHz) The lower outer ring sets the continuously variable Mid frequencies for boost or cut. DIL switches on the circuit board allow low or high ranges to be set. Both switch sections should be set to ON for the Low Range and both set to OFF for the High Range. VOLUME Sets the level from the bass and treble section of the preamp feeding the mid section. This means that the pickup feeds the preamp directly, allowing the best possible transfer of signal, and full interaction of the pickup with the preamp. Since the mid section is after the volume control, it feeds the jack directly with a low impedance output. Nordstrand MM5.4 The MM5.4 is the 5 string version of the MM4.4 and is split in similar fashion, except that it has a 2 string coil (B and E) and a 3 string coil (A, D and G). The pickup can be split and remain hum cancelling in any configuration. Front coil, rear coil, series, parallel... This pickup has all the basses covered, and is particularly suited to a Lakland installation where the 3 way switch selects front, rear, or parallel coils.
  10. When you say clean under the pickguard, do you mean it has been routed for reverse?

  15. Hi All Up for grabs is my used but not abused Markbass Super Synth Pedal, not getting the use it deserves. Boxed with it's power supply. Grab a bargain. Please find all the relevant info below. DESCRIPTION Markbass Super - Synth - Synth and Octaver Pedal for Bass Guitar
The Markbass Super Synth pedal is a versatile dual function effect pedal that can be either a synth or Octaver. This pedal can turn your bass into a seriously cool synthesizer, or with quick tap on the switch, give you the deepest harmonic sounds of a bass octaver, dropping and raising the frequencies by an octave or two. With in built parameters on the pedal, you can easily adjust your sound in real time, or connect to a computer via USB to to pre edit and create and customise the effect you desire. Ideal for use live or in the studio. Variable Gain, Frequency, Tone and Level Controls
The Synth pedal has four highly functional, easy to reach controls on the pedal's surface that allows for immediate adjustment of parameters. The Gain control regulates the input level of your instrument, and with the assistance of the LED Clip indicator, can prevent distortion and ensure clean signal enters the pedal. The Cut Freq performs a dual function, by cutting frequencies when in Synth mode, and controls the volume of the low frequency when in Octaver mode. The Tone dial also performs two functions, as a preset selector in Synth mode, and a volume knob for the high frequency in Octaver mode. Lastly, the Level/Dry dial controls output level in Synth mode and the blend of the wet and dry signal in Octaver mode. Preset Navigation
The Super-Synth includes to switches, UP and DOWN to navigate between all the stored presets, making it very simple to switch sounds in the same song. Customise the Effects via USB on Computer with Pedal Controller Software
By connecting the Super - Synth pedal to a computer via USB and downloading the Markbass Pedal Controller software from the website (www.markbass.it), the bass player has the option to completely customise their tone. The easy to use interface provides a whole range of options. In Synth mode control level, tone, dynamics, EQ, filters, Envelope and Oscillate control is provided, whilst in Octaver mode , the choice can be made to operate one or two octave levels around the original source. True Bypass Switching
The Super - Synth incorporates True bypass for eliminating any signal interference when switched off. Can be used with a 9-12V AC adapter or a 9V Battery. Markbass Effects Pedals
