  1. The things I would do for the cab alone… I have the 2 x 12 vertical cab but would much prefer that 4 x 10 as I feel that would give me exactly what I am looking for. Good luck with the sale mate someone is going to get one helluva rig for a great price!
  2. Have you gone for the Babicz Epiphone specific one or have you gone for the standard Gibson one?
  3. Just fancy the reliability of the Hipshot plus a May get the extender so would like it all to look consistent. (Mild OCD haha)
  4. Hi all! Just bought an Epiphone thunderbird classic iV pro (neck thru job) and I want to change the stock tuners. Obviously looking at the Hipshot Ultralites as will be getting the supertone bridge. does anyone know whether 3/8” (14mm holes) or the 1/2” (16mm holes) is the right one to buy? thanks for any advice in advance. thanks Tim
  5. I can confirm this is an absolute corker of a Stingray… as it was previously mine.
  6. 2011 FSR Fender Precision Bass Special, finished in metallic seafoam green. For a 10 year old bass it's in sublime condition. Borderline new. As you can see it's had a set of GZR EMG's installed, however still got the original preamp, pickups and pickguards if you wanted to return it to stock. Will come with a heavy duty padded armoudillo bass case or for an extra £50 I can include a Hiscox Hardcase. I am looking for a straight sale on this one, got 3 other basses and I want to use the funds to put towards a Rickenbacker 360 or a MIJ Gretsch. Any questions just ask.
  7. Hello One & All Up for grabs is my amazing Barefaced Super Twin which I have had for circa 3 years. Absolutely corking cab and honestly will take anything you throw at it and handles it with aplomb. I've run Orange AD200's through it, Mesa Big Block, Ampeg SVT II pro, EBS TD 650, Darkglass MT900, Ashdown ABM600 etc etc and every single one works with the cab. Genuine reason for letting this beauty go, I have recently acquired a Orange BT500 and OBC112 and for the size of gigs I'll be doing from now on this will suffice. It's in good to very good condition, has a few marks on it which are shown but nothing that effects the sound or structural quality. There's so much info on the barefaced website so I won't bore you with too much info here. Comes with the Roqsolid fitted heavy duty cover. I would much prefer to negotiate around delivery by myself or collection rather than risk shipping this. So please don't hesitate to get in touch to discuss options around this. Thanks Tim
  8. Hi All Up for grabs is this cracking 2004 German built Warwick Streamer LX Jazzman. Got this in March in trade, however I have sadly not bonded with this beautiful beast tonally as much as I thought I would, just not my cup of tea compared to my Jazz and Rick. Playability wise however it's super tight and fast and is an utter joy to physically play. I have changed the original just-a-nut for the just-a-nut III. The strap pins were glued in, and when I tried to screw them out the screw snapped. I have drilled a pilot hole next to the original posts and fitted Schaller Strap Lock Pins. I have taken photos of where they are as the glue appears to have marked the finish. But this is not noticeable when playing or when your strap is on. Otherwise it's had a thorough clean and does show signs of its 17 years of gigging etc. But I would say it's in overall fair to good condition. It's not a case queen by any stretch but it's not exactly a mangy junkyard dog. produced: 20.12.2004 Description: Streamer, 4-string Honey Violin Oil finish Swamp Ash/AA Flamed Maple top body Ovangkol neck Gold hardware Made in Germany I am open to negotiation on price. Cash is King but am open to trades, no Ibanez. Preferably passive & I am open to 5 strings and fretless also, Flea Jazz or Geddy Jazz. But come at me w.h.y. worse I can say is no thanks. I will ship, will be super well packaged and it will come with a bass centre padded gig bag. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask away. Thanks Tim
  9. G&L L2000 USA 4 string bass guitar (1999). Ash body finished in Translucent Blonde with a maple neck/fretboard. Rare. It will be sold complete with it's G&L certificate of authenticity, along with warranty cards, electronics instructions and the original purchase receipt. The foundation of the L-2000 is a pair of G&L Magnetic Field Design humbuckers backed by the flexible Tri-Tone control system, providing the sort of versatility that’ll let you find your tone no matter what kind of bass line you’re laying down. The Tri-Tone system features a trio of mini toggles for pickup selection, series/parallel signal routing and active/passive operation, as well as a trio of knobs for volume, treble and bass. A truly dynamic sounding bass with gorgeous looks & superb playability. Neck: Slender profile hard rock maple neck with black side-dots. Maple fingerboard with black dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with very little wear at all. G&L open-gear tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 34" scale length. Neck is straight & true. Truss rod works perfectly. Body: Contoured, solid ash body finished in Translucent Blonde. Top-loading G&L Saddle-Lock bridge with adjustable saddles. Electronics: Two G&L Magnetic Field Design humbuckers with Tri-Tone control system. 3 mini toggles for pickup selection, series/parallel signal routing & active/passive operation; 3 knurled control knobs for volume, treble & bass. This runs from a 9V battery (i.e. PP3). Due to the age of the instrument there is a very, very small amount of crackle when adjusting the pots, but only when adjusting, I have subsequently used contact cleaner and there's no crackle now, but wanted to state this in the interests of being honest - there is NO crackle when not adjusting the pots. Cosmetically this bass is in (almost) immaculate condition. Which is incredible when you consider it is actually 22 years old. It's an ash body and the grain of the wood looks beautiful through the translucent finish. There are some very, very fine surface scratches on the surface (impossible not to have some surface scratches on any bass that's been played) but the bass has to be viewed from certain angles for these to even be seen. There is also single tiny dent near the strap button on the bottom edge of the bass (detailed in the pictures - it's about as big as one of the screw heads in the bridge) which is only noticeable if you point it out, but other than this - the bass is in excellent condition. Other than these two things, the bas is immaculate. It's a hell of a lot of bass for the money. *The rear battery/electronics cover is signed by Mark King (Level 42) from Ronnie Scotts (Birmingham) back in 2000/01. It has NEVER, EVER been gigged, and it's condition is proof of that. Case: G&L hardshell case included along with one key. It comes from a smoke-free home. So to be clear the bass is not for sale at the moment, I am not averse and will price for cash accordingly, the value shown is for trade purposes. I am ideally looking for a couple of things in trade, Spector Euro (4 or 5), German Warwick (Not chinese, Rockbass or corvette please), 2EQ Stingray. I can also chuck in a Barefaced Supertwin MkIII for the right bass trade. For shipping in the UK, Parcelforce will be used with a cost of £25 GBP. If the buyer wants full insurance, there is an additional £30 charge on top of this. For international deliveries, I will obtain a quote before purchase. Local collection also available & preferable, but facemasks required as per current n-CoV19 protocol!
  10. Would have prized this from you if I hadn't just bought exactly same bass from Bass Centre. Excellent price and excellent bass, some one is going to get a lot of bass! GLWTS
  11. Hi All Up for grabs here is my trusty and beautiful Mesa Big Block 750 up for sale. Sounds absolutely banging with my Barefaced Supertwin sounded equally as amazing through my mates EBS neoline cabs as well. A truly stunning all rounder. As close to my old SVT 2 pro in terms of sound without the back breaking weight. Comes in heavy duty flight rack case along with Korg Pitchblack rack tuner, footswitch and power supplies. I would like £600 shipped (UK Only) or can arrange for collection when suitable & appropriate. 12. Hi all Up for grabs is my 2018 Fender Classic 60's Jazz Bass. For the obvious reasons this has hardly been played. Apart from 2 marks which are shown its in perfect condition, it will include all the case candy it came with. Now as you can see I've fitted the period correct covers, thumb rest and a tortoiseshell pickguard, I still have the original guard. It now has a matched pair of Seymour Duncan Antiquity II jazz bass pickups installed and these make a world of difference. Just sounds classic as you would expect from these pickups. I don't have the stock pickups. I don't have the gig bag, but I do have a gator hard case for it. Currently sporting a set of rotosound 45 - 105 custom gauge strings. I would like £600 ono, its a steal at this price considering that it has the upgraded pickups (£200+) & case. No trades as now sorted for basses. And here is the spec .... 13. Hi all Up for grabs is my TC Electronic Sub'n'Up pedal. This is the full fat 4 knob version. It's in as new condition, I've literally had it out the box, put velcro on the back and stuck it on my board, which hasn't been out due to the obvious. Cracking little pedal, but have just got a Stingray 5 so don't need the octave pedal anymore. £70 includes postage to your door. Any questions just DM me. Thanks Tim
  14. Hi I am putting this up as I have a serious hankering for a 5 string. This bass is in superb condition, especially given its 20 years old. I have the original white pearl pickguard and tuner as I have put a hipshot bass xtender on. I have whipped out the stock pickup and put a Bartolini in. I don't have the original stock pickup. The photos aren't great sorry. I can take more, but not until Friday as I am away Now down to the serious business, this is for trade only & I am only looking for very specific trades namely a Stingray 5 With a maple board neck, G&L L-2500 again maple board or a Spector Euro 5. I categorically don't want a blue coloured bass (Liverpool fan sorry). Hit me up with trades. Thanks Tim
  15. Johna was an absolute gent to deal with from start to finish. Please deal with the utmost confidence. Thanks again. Tim
  16. HI All Putting this up as I had full intention of installing it in my Stingray, but never got around to it and have now gotten used to the stock preamp in it so this is surplus to requirements. It's in excellent condition. Quick Overview The MMSR 4 Knob 3 Band has been designed with characteristics very similar to the original MM Stingray© 2 Band EQ, in order to retain the same interaction between the MM pickup and the electronics, crucial in creating the original pre EB sound colours. A Mid Sweep, is included along with original MM style Bass and Treble. When the Mid boost/cut is centred, its effect is neutral and the EQ is purely late 70s MM style. £95 includes p&p. Any questions just ask. Warm Regards Tim
  17. That cab is giving my uncomfortable feelings... I have the BB750 already and through my barefaced it is literally earth shattering... but that cab is so so pretty. GLWTS.
  18. Hi Fellow Lord's of The Low End. Up for grabs here is a little bundle of stuff that works amazingly well together. Sadly it's not quite what I am looking for tonally so I have reverted to something a bit more traditional. So what's included is a pair of 60's Fender Vintera Jazz Pups as found in their most recent 60's Reissue Jazz Basses, real traditional sounding, but awesome with the preamp. Bought from Bass direct a few months back all original box, instructions, spare tone caps and 2 spare solder-less points included for the ground for £150, A little about the John East - Is it possible to retain the original sound of a J style bass?, but with a modern Active EQ? in the same preamp, along with no changes to my bass? In response, we have created the J-TONE pre amp, replicating the authentic original passive wiring of the J style bass with a high spec Active EQ. It's designed as a direct drop-in replacement, including a place for the battery. It's easy to fit at home using basic tools, no soldering, no physical changes to the instrument*. The Passive wiring is available as either the classic Volume / Volume / Tone, or for those who prefer a master volume - Volume / Blend / Tone. Plug-in tone caps allow additional fine tuning of the passive tone control. The Active EQ is simplicity itself, incorporating highly responsive bass and treble controls, taken from our new high end UNI-PRE system. Internal edge wheels allow individual custom voicing for both the bass and treble control spectrums. Instrument qualities can be enhanced in conjunction with tone-shaping to match playing styles. It has the retro knobs fitted from east (an extra £25) & a spare set of chrome knobs if that is your thing. I want £150 all in with P&P. Any questions just ask.
  19. Excellent. Sorry for so many questions, I am ever so grateful for your help.
  20. Smashing. Now excuse my ignorance further which classes as the first or second slot? Closest to the front or closest to the back of the amp?
  21. Long shot, do you happen to know which valve is for the gain stage? That sounds like a good option to explore.
  22. So I’ve got a Mesa BB750, monster of an amp, but I think it is due a revalve. It has 4 12ax7 or ecc83’s whatever designation you prefer to use. Has a real classic almost borderline SVT tone minus the heft. What I am really trying to seek out is a bit of guidance on what are the best valves to whack in there to get as fuller tone as possible. I like nice warm lows, punchy mids with a nice crisp top, but not too sizzly. I am using a Stingray & Jazz Bass both with East Preamps and have an MXR compressor going in the front. i am all ears. Thanks
