As the pictures will show, it's a sunburst finish with rosewood neck. It's not a pristine example by any means, having proved its worth over many gigs and tours (not to mention a smash hit album!*), but it's in far better condition than I thought and has nothing to affect playability or sound. There are a few minor chips to the body finish, some buckle rash but nothing extreme. There is a fair bit of knocks and dings around the edge of the headstock but again, it all adds character according to Fender these days. As for the neck, there are a few light marks to the varnish but again these aren't noticeable when it's being played - I'm very particular about necks and it never bothered me.
There are some wear marks on the upper horn, I've taken a picture but it doesn't look as bad in the flesh.
Also, at some point the scratchplate cracked by the jack socket - this was professionally repaired but can still be seen.
The thumb rest is long gone sadly.
I don't have the original case but will throw in a Thomann tweed-style hardcase.
