    Silly question, but are you sure it says 'special' on the truss rod cover? If it's a Q4 it should only say Spector - if you squint it [i]could [/i]read special... Not that this matters at all, I'm just sure I've never seen a Spector with anything other than the company name on the truss rod cover.

    Looks like an NS2000 Q4. I have the earlier version with the through neck which originally listed for around £800. You have an excellent bass there Wayne!

    Front or back of the headstock? As far as I can remember, I've only seen the logo on a Spector headstock - as well as the truss rod cover. The model tends to be on the back, so that should tell you exactly what it is.

    My '79 Precision, sadly now gone, had a rosewood board and skunk stripe. Very dignified looking it was too.

    You can hear the modified Rick on Who Do We Think We Are? Still very identifiable as a Rick but with a bigger but looser and woolier bottom end. The un=modified Rick can be heard on Machine Head - a far better tone in my opinion!

    One of the main reasons I don't play 5 strings is because the E never feels right. I don't know why this is, I may be imagining it, but it's something that's always irritated me. FWIW, I don't think Mr Turner was being critical of his instruments themselves, more of the actual nature of the 5 string itself.

    I briefly had an NJ series Mockingbird - one of the models from around ten years ago, through neck, active, quilted top etc. The tone from the 2 P pickups combined was fantastic. Very, very growly. It's easy to see why Entwistle favoured that combination for so long. Alas the neck dive was a bit of an issue for me and I sold it to a friend who wanted to learn the bass. Probably not the best choice for a first bass, looking back... The current model with the cloud inlays seems to have the same spec. I'd love to get another one day and pop some DiMarzios in it.

    Main basses at the moment: '81 Ibanez Blazer - £150 Spector NS2000 - £120 Basses sold (or due to be) recently due to lack of activity - Spector Euro 4 Rickenbacker 4003 '79 Fender Precision.

    I bought this cab from a fellow Basschatter just a fortnight ago, however I soon realised I couldn't really afford it so it needs to go. At 28kg it's pretty light and very powerful at 600w rms. This is the 8ohm version. The cab is in very good condition with only a bit of very light scuffing to the side and back of the covering. I need a quick sale so will let this go for £280 including shipping to mainland UK. This is a GK glamour shot but it's the same model - I'm struggling to upload any on here but if anyone needs any particular shots of the cab let me know and I'll sort some out.
