  1. There's lots of threads for basses, amps, effects etc. but unless I'm mistaken (and I probably am!) there's not one for full band gear pics/set ups. So.... show us your backing! This is ours (Art Of Rebellion). A few ACGs, some GR gear, a pair of Helix, lots of EBMM JP guitars plus a Reiver, Friedman and Blackstar heads, custom NH 2x12 cabs, Shure SM58s and some Mapex/Sabian drums.
  2. Absolutely. I firmly maintain that Alan's work is right at the very top of the custom bass world.
  3. The Eagle has landed... We moved our weekly band practice to tonight (unrelated!) so will be able to give this a full blast tonight.
  4. Yes, that's the bass I mean! I thought it was Hipshot but you are right, it is ETS.
  5. A 6 string triple octave would have a substantially narrower neck that Binky (below). Would definitely be interesting to see how a 6 string triple would look. Hipshot have made hardware for an 8 string triple (24 string) in the past, so I'd assume they could rustle up something for a 6er triple!
  6. Honestly, I prefer the look of the TB12 over the Ament's bass (just my opinion of course!) @Basvarken - out of interest, could you build a 6 string triple octave bass (18 string)?
  7. Looks awesome, wouldn't say no to owning that!
  8. Should be with me Tuesday/Wednesday. 😁
  9. Tell the shop, maybe they'll send you a free set of strings or something for your inconvenience of fixing it. Saves them having to pay to courier it back and to send out a new one. But ultimately, if its a dead simple, noninvasive fix, then doing it yourself saves everyone hassle.
  10. Very handsome sir!
  11. I think you're right, I've googled them from time to time but found very little other than my own posts about them and another post on TalkBass I think about a red one. If you can find one, snap it up! I've had mine in constant use for well over a decade (maybe closer to 13/14 years) and it hasn't even broke a sweat. No fraying, no loose stitching, absolutely nothing! Quite remarkable really...
  12. Then sir, definitely get a 6! The high C on a 6 string bass really opens up what you can do, especially for chord shapes and adding great melody. These days when I pick up the one 4 string I have left I am almost totally lost as almost everything I play uses both the C and B of a 6er. If you can learn 5, you can learn 6! 😁
  13. Don't you mean 'wal' made...* OK, OK... I'm leaving. *it looks slightly like a Wal.
  14. A Cort Artisan A5 is in budget, and they're excellent basses. But as many have echoed - there's a good few excellent 5ers at great prices in the for sale section. Why not buy one of those that takes your fancy, play it for 6 months and either sell it if you don't get on with it and go back to 4, or keep it... or sell it and buy another 5. Either way you won't loose money.
  15. @BillyBass - you're looking at this all wrong... ...get a 6 string bass!
  16. Never! This is BassChat! We go all in or we don't bother. 😁
  17. They're definitely more expensive than a pedal sure, but in comparison to other amps, £975 for an Italian made 1400w dual channel (and that's 1400w through one channel) with built in tuner and a very usable overdrive is pretty decent! And all weighing a mere 3.5kg. And it swerves the need for adding a pedal to the chain!
  18. I have the Dual 1400 and it's killer. It'll certainly do what you want.
  19. I didn't think so! I had an inkling that was you in the Wal beanie... I'll actually say hi next time I see you!
  20. In that case I saw you in 'the office' on the day I took that picture!
  21. How dare you. But yes. Do you own a Wal beanie by any chance?
  22. These two, plus the GR rig and Helix are my absolute staples at the mo until my next ACG arrives in a few weeks.
  23. Estrella. I came into possession of an estrella gig bag via a deal with @nobodysprefect near on 10 years ago and it VERY happily houses Binky (my 10 string) and my Conklin (8 string) with zero issues. Excellent bags!
  24. I am excruciatingly tempted to buy it and string it righty... £800 is literally pennies on the pound for this. A spec like this today would be north of £3.5k so at this price you're getting 77% off the cost of a new one!
  25. These two are the super painful ones... A Nordstrand NX6 and Jean Baudin's Conklin PacMan 9.
