  1. That is exactly what I'd want to do to the Wal... might be 'a sin' but it'd make it such a truly usable instrument.
  2. I'd be so tempted to hire some kind of engineer to cut it down the middle and work in a seamless connection so you can 'click' them together as a double neck, or play them individually. Maybe even talk to Wal about building two additional pieces with the same connection so they look like 'normal' basses when not 'clicked' together as a double neck. I imagine the cost of such a procedure would be astronomical!
  3. Same old boring basses found on every ill-conceived 'best basses' list normally compiled by someone who's exposure to basses consists of having gone to the bass section of their local PMT. Bull-hockey I say!!! BULL-HOCKEY!
  4. A: I KNOW! and B: I hate you. 😜
  5. Did the deal on this little beauty and with the help of @adamg67 it should be in hand Saturday morning! One can have too many of many things but one can never have too many ACGs!
  6. Hi all, There's a bass I want that's cropped up and an amp I 'kind of' want. In order to close the deal on these, I need to sell my Kemper. (Cabs not included obviously!) This is great Kemper Power Rack 600w which will actually operate at 1000w @ 4 ohm (confirmed by kemper), 600w @ 8 ohm and 300w @ 16 ohm. The Kemper will come with a 3u rack case as well as the kemper pedal board, with case, and all various cables. The amp, pedal, cases etc are all in excellent condition, the Profiler has some fantastic bass rigs programmed in, as well as tons of effects. It works SUPERBLY for bass and also incredibly well for guitar (obviously). The Power Rack 600w plus pedal retails at £2400ish so £1500 for an excellent condition set-up seems very fair, plus the cases of course! The Kemper website has over 18,000 profiles on it from Mesa to Markbass, Darkglass to Orange (all free to download) so this is an incredibly versatile piece of kit. £1500 collected, add £30 for postage (all pretty bulky to post!) Any questions, let me know!

  7. Looks like a far nicer version of the Ibanez TCB1006. Very nice!
  8. To be honest I'll probably leave it as an idol threat. I can't be arséd with further involvement. Feel free to place that £1000 on my behalf!
  9. I just spent a good 5 minutes trying to work out what the hell you meant! Safe to say, I get it now! 😂 And might I add...
  10. A bit more progress! Managed to snag a John East low battery indicator as a last minute addition... soon my pretty... soon...
  11. Obviously it's entirely up to you to list the bass for any price at all - sellers choice! ...But, objectively, I would expect you could haggle with a shop down to a price very close to what you're asking and walk away with a brand new bass with warranty etc. So that might be worth factoring into the asking price. 7.7% off the brand new RRP for a 'technically' second hand bass might not entice that many potential punters! It's a shame you didn't win a bass that was more your cup of tea or that someone won this bass who's cup of tea it is!
  12. It's a Fodera right?
  13. I've just sent the seller the below message. It really infuriates me when people hide under a guise of ignorance in order to con people. "I see you're still selling this as a Fender when you know it isn't, so unless you've cancelled the auction or amended it to be truthful within 24 hours, I'm going to bid £1000 on it to ensure I win it, then if you post it to me, once it arrives I shall open a dispute with eBay that it isn't a Fender and get my money back, as per eBay rules, you'll be responsible for covering return postage. Or if I win and you don't send it, then I'll lodge a complaint that you've not sent me the item I've won. So be a decent human and either withdraw the bass and relist with a truthful description, or I'll bid, and win, and we'll go through the motions laid out above. Thanks."
  14. @plaaty - if you don't mind a few battle scars, then the USA Music Man Sub 5 in the for sale section is a good shout, you're basically getting a full USA built proper Music Man Stingray 5 with a slab body for less than £500. https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/457732-musicman-sub-usa-5-string/
  15. There's an orange one for sale in the 'for sale' section with hard case for £300.
  16. £399 brand new and posted at GG at the mo! https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/201116363990025--cort-artisan-b5-plus-as-rm-open-pore-burgundy-red?gclid=Cj0KCQiAtJeNBhCVARIsANJUJ2HMHALMF8FQH64JMbH-l0dHrSRigELi5eX1AGrwLF4wpTHnM8EobpYaAikJEALw_wcB
  17. Find a decent 5 string in the 'for sale' section and save yourself a good few hundred quid! Looking at those basses you mention I'm guessing your budget is circa £500, that will get you a great second hand 5 string and at a price where you won't loose hundreds should you want to sell or trade it later!
  18. It'd help your sale if you could provide the actual date of the bass - almost all the comments above are querying the build date.
  19. Words have failed every one... check out the thread below this titled 'ffs', it's 9 pages of disbelief about this very chap.
  20. I've never used (or really heard) the term 'front and rear' pickups to be honest, it's aways been 'neck', 'bridge' and when needed 'middle'. Front and rear just allow for far too much misinterpretation! Why use a term that is subject to confusion? Why not just use a term that is finite? Human logic, or lack there of, never ceases to amaze!
  21. Doubt this will be here long! Don't see these around too often these days and this is a great price!
  22. A good bit of progress made... aiming for January delivery (after the Xmas postal madness has died down!)
  23. Speak to Neil at Newtone Strings. If you tell him the scale of your bass and the feel and tone you're after, he'll make you a set. They're made in the UK and don't cost any more than a decent 6 string set. Great string and good value all while supporting a home grown business! 👍 Alternatively, Kalium do great sets, as do Conklin. I've had custom sets for my 10 string made by Rotosound in the past but they are very expensive! Newtone would be my recommendation. https://newtonestrings.com/
  24. It's a Grelecaster, or maybe a Tetch? What actual brand is this? Any specs?
