  1. My 10 string Bee Bass. In a fit of vanity I did have it made with my name in Abalone on the 4th fret and with 'R.S.N Signature Bee' on the headstock!
  2. Probably a more fitting description, final photos once we're 'moved in' will be the decider. Primary use is for band rehearsal/writing absolutely. Secondary use is a place to house a few bits of cardio gym equipment - or 'band fitness gig stamina training devices' as they shall be referred to!
  3. Just been down the end... Bathroom is done and we have power and lights! Just need a carpet (hopefully Monday) and the second coat of render then we can 'move in'.
  4. Good tips sir, but I'm not going that deep down the rabbit hole... yet! It's definitely more of a rehearsal space for my band, but it will also house a few bits of gym equipment as well as a sofa, TV, some furniture and of course the bathroom. So yes it's predominantly for the band, but it's also extra general living space and will also double as a poker lounge for our quarterly game!
  5. It'll be underlayed and carpeted primarily to stop drumkits sliding around!
  6. It's going to be a bit of a multifunctional space, so will have more than just drums and amps in it - the plan really at the moment is to see how it all sounds as is once we've 'moved in' and treat the room accordingly over a period of a few weeks.
  7. Got most of the bathroom fitted and some painting done. Had a few issues... the painter sprayed the room and either forgot to seal the plaster or did it poorly, the paint where the walls meets the ceiling has started to peel so they've had to sand it back and redo it. Also the splashwalls for the shower have been provided by B&Q in the incorrect orientation so they'll be funding removal and re-installation of new panels. All that being said, it's moving forward!
  8. The beginning of The Lion King classic 'Circle of Life' but with the lyrics 'angry Llama eating a banana' sung repeatedly...
  9. Honestly, as an owner of a GR AT410+ I have not had any concerns about fragility. I've had mine for 8-9 months give or take, and as I've said before I use it once or twice a week where it gets loaded in and out of a car, through the narrow corridors of the practice rooms, it has bits and pieces sitting on top of it all the time, it goes up and down stairs etc. I have had zero problems with it and more so I've never thought to myself 'I need to walk on eggshells with the cab' Sure it will withstand less hammer blows that a 13-ply birch Mesa Powerhouse cab, but at the end of the day every other bit of gear we use (pedals, basses, amps etc) are definitely more fragile than these cabs so it's all a moot point! These don't crumble when you look at them, they are perfectly serviceable and as strong as any reasonable person needs them to be.
  10. All plastered up and windows in...
  11. The June 2015 issue is particularly good. 😁
  12. You can see how far away it is from the house here... taken from my office upstairs. And we now have a door! Still lots to do (rendering, windows, 2nd fix electrics, plastering, bathroom fittings etc)
  13. I had a Mesa Powerhouse 410 that was delivered with a big smash in the corner a few years ago. Anything can be broken in transit if treated poorly enough!
  14. Close of play today... started to pelt it down with rain and the windows/doors aren't yet in... hopefully that won't cause issues. Back of building facing towards front door/shower room. Loo/shower room.
  15. Shut up! Yes it does! I'm right and you're wrong... I challenge you to a duel!
  16. I'd agree that the GR cab would sustain less hammer blows than a cab built from marine grade 13 ply board like Mesa cabs. But other things we gig with are much more fragile and worth a lot more so for me these cabs are perfectly stable enough for prolonged use - I don't intend to smash it with a hammer as much as I don't intend to drop my bass and crack it. Sure accidents will happen, but for me and my spine, these cabs are spot on! Totally horses for courses - if you enjoy treating your cabs poorly or gig places where you expect your gear will get kicked to pieces then I guess these aren't for you, but if you look after your gear and don't gig active warzones then you'll be fine! 😁
  17. I've had mine for 7-8 months and have taken it out about about weekly since the day of purchase and it doesn't have a scratch on it. It goes in the boot with the rest of the gear, gets loaded in/out etc, it doesn't get treated any differently to any of the other cabs, so I respectfully disagree with the views on construction!
  18. A photo from Friday... At close of play today the first fix electrics are in, 1.2 tons of plaster board have been marched down the garden and the roof is felted. Still a few weeks left, but it's really getting there!
  19. Appreciated mate but probably not worth it for me! Someone will be along to snatch it up I'm sure.
  20. Any ability to get it to Basildon? If so, I'll take it.
  21. Maxwell Murder - Rancid - Matt Freeman. Not the most technically advanced solo, but the cool factor is off the chain.
  22. I've had my GR AT410+ for around 6 months, I absolutely love it. For context, my prior rig was a Mesa Boogie Strategy Eight:88 with two 410 Powerhouse cabs, so I wasn't exactly coming from a shabby amateur rig! The AT410+ is obviously super lightweight, it sounds fantastic - very articulate, great bottom end, a really good all rounder. Construction feels a bit flimsy because of the weight, but it isn't - its a trick of the mind! I've had mine in and out of the car every week, up and down stairs once or twice a week, it's been used for maybe 6 hours at high volume every week and it's not missed a beat. I pair it with a GR Dual 1400 and it's pretty much the best rig I've had.
  23. I've had a few Gretschs in my time, they are underrated in my opinion. I had a stunning White Rancher 12 a little while ago, truly impeccable build quality for a circa £500 off the shelf instrument.
