It'll be far cheaper to buy the bass you think you need than try and adapt what you have. Also, you don't need to.

Not really, he has an account already and knows where to look if he wants to.

3 miles. I'd definitely recommend trying to arrange a visit to both, but BB for me is more of a 'what do you specifically want to try out ?' type of place more than a browse to pass the time. I am moderately acquainted with both shops* and know the owners, they are very different business models and both seem to work for them regardless of any customer reported issues. *Disclaimer, I worked on the BassDirect stand at Manchester 2008 and Liverpool 2022 shows.

Decent price if it's German, truss rod is good, and the oiled body isn't absolutely battered to death. Even then, I see Rockbasses going for only a bit less.

I recently got a EHB1505 and it's really surprised me how great it is. My first headless instrument and it's very comfortable and easy to transport (only bass I have that fits in my boot without seats down !). @tauzero If it's a reasonable request i'd like to try my standard scale against yours to see how different they are ? I'm happy with mine currently, but the multiscale does look so much better and could be tempted to upgrade should the B really be improved.

Suggest non-MusicMan basses with growly MM-like alter-ego's?
Machines replied to Jolltax's topic in Bass Guitars
I've had 2, and would recommend that anyone looking for a bass that sounds like any of the models above buys something else. -
NBD - Shocking stuff from PMT, pre dinged and missing backplate

I learnt the hard way that you shouldn't stretch new strings on these things as hard as you would on a normal bass. Even when it was quite tight on the clamp it just pinged out. -

Mine did but it's very disparate in quality to what you'd expect from a £1300 instrument. I wouldn't put much trust in it lasting long (zips etc). -

Someone's mod status is irrelevant if they are posting their opinions about something. When I was admin I would want to be challenged and not expect my 'badge' to stop people doing so if they disagree with me. -

If advertised as ex-demo and pics of damage shown, the price would be pretty decent here. I think you paid about the same or even a little less than a 2nd hand one would be with the same damage. Stick with it it if you can get the parts replaced (which I fully expect), i've got one 2nd hand recently and it's really enamouring me so far. -
Great vid - good modern content that's bandwidth friendly too. Subscribed.

қош келдіңіз! мұндағы адамдар ақымақ және мен олар мұны ағылшын тіліне аудармайды деп ойлаймын. Маған да бұл топтар ұнайды және SOAD-ты тікелей эфирде көрдім

Not that simple, you will need a modified switch from here: https://www.fretnation.com/custom-6-way-rotary-selector-switch?fbclid=IwAR3Wn-hMH4ujYsHGuPsFMbsAiYAxnTNfK2IN6uqy8ZhMRViFZF8bj2oPy20 I was looking at doing it on mine to add the option you want, as well as neck pickup alone. I will get round to it one day.

What's the string spacing ? I had a wide spacing Fender Himass one my BB415 and it was fine, but too wide for the my Sire V5's neck and the strings were right on the edge of the board at the top fret. Put the stock one back on until I find something else. On topic for this tread, Ernie Ball B strings do not fit through the string hole where it overwraps near the ballend. I have about an inch sticking out behind the bridge - oddly stable.

Ultimately, it sounds like you've honed in on a pretty good decision. They are excellent professional instruments, but in the guitar world are probably not seen as 'cool' as other brands. However if you're well beyond that mindset, the BBP35 is ideal and you'd have some change.

Same instrument in terms of woods/electronics, M7 is a bit more cosmetically appealing with a flamed maple top and matching headstock. Decent instruments, but I wouldn't be spending £800 on one new, i'd be narrowing down what I want a bit more and getting something better 2nd hand. As the depreciation on them can be a bit steep.

Can these reviews have more revealing clothing please.

There's one local to me for £750, and that's too much for me (I had one at £500 10 years ago which was also too much). I think a lot of the prices around at the moment are prospecting more than actually people thinking they're worth that much.

This is nearly there with the body, I reviewed a PJ of this for Basschat about 500 years ago, nice bass but the headstock dive was an Olympic WR. https://www.jhs.co.uk/collections/fret-king-basses/products/fret-king-black-label-esprit-bass-metallic-silver

Just had a gig cancelled because we, a support act - were unwilling to let 2 other bands use our equipment (meaning we'd have to hang around until the end and have other plans). The headline band doesn't even have a drumkit and the other band has no guitar amps. Got a salty reply from the promoter (who asked us with 5 days notice to do so, but didn't ask the other bands in advance if they could even gig) "This is official notice that this gig is cancelled. Sorry guys, this might be the first time I’ve ever had to pull a gig because none of the acts could provide backline! Big thanks to <removed> for kindly saying that they could share the bass amp, really appreciate the co-operation, especially from the opening act. If the sales were better I’d have no problem hiring in but as it stands, they are not. Unfortunate, but nothing else we can do."

Sounds like they're protecting themselves from stronger sales figures from spontaneous customers too.
