1. Got this yesterday.. it's not officially mine yet though - need to decide if I prefer this or my Overwater ! Mark at Bass Direct has been very accommodating to the fact my life is far too busy to go to Warwick to test it out lol. Full specs and info here
2. Sorry to hear your situation and that you can't play the bass anymore - but is that a feeling you've had just recently or for a long time ? I think if it were myself I'd put it somewhere out of sight and come back to it in a few years when emotions aren't quite as raw. I think even if not now, you may regret selling it in the future.
3. Ok, have got it now - will play it tonight !
4. It's not paid for yet ! I've kindly been lent it on approval, should be here Weds.
5. Ok i'm convinced enough to have a proper look ! It should be with me the middle of next week .

SOLD

If you want offers you should put it on eBay. Rules of this forum are that you must state a price or it will be removed.
7. I would buy this, but I already have one .
8. Thanks for the links guys, they do sound pretty good. What is the neck pickup like alone, can it do fat ? So far all of the tones i've heard so far are very clear bridge/finger tones I think.
9. There's plenty of Status owners here so maybe someone can help me ! Am in a position potentially to acquire a Status S2 Classic (headed, 5 string), I know what they sound like to a degree (seen enough Mark King impressions to last a life time) but how versatile are they ? I would want to be able to roll off the zingy top end if possible and get other sounds out of it too, what is the neck pickup like soloed for example ?. Any links to videos or soundclips (I couldn't any that weren't slapping) are appreciated ! Also, with the bridge pickup so close to the bridge doesn't it sound a bit thin ? Thanks chaps.
10. I see the seller has been back but not chosen to update his post.
11. I'm not really into vintage Fenders, but those are amazing. I would love to have one just to hold it and imagine what's happened to it in the last 60 years .
12. It's a bargain if it's genuine, the seller i'm sure will post some pics here soon and more details which will silence our suspicions
13. Read this for a similar tale: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=137855 I can't say it enough Caveat Emptor.
14.
Yeah the only bassist on YouTube who demos basses well is Ed Friedland, because he concentrates on demoing the bass not himself.
+1. Ed is an absolutely legend, I've messaged him before to thank him for no BS in his reviews.
15. Probably because it's relatively easy to sound half decent at it (to a non-player) and it makes the bass sound a lot more distinct than played any other way. When looking for sound samples I like it when they simply play the same riff but with each of the different pickup/EQ options enabled, this will actually tell me what it will sound like - not some machinegun racket of someone trying to be Victor Wooten.
16. I've got some from some NW Bashes (Manchester) in 2005/6, will upload them this weekend.
17. It was my idea and I got nuthin'.
18.
Haha, it's a Stingray for [s]smaller handed[/s] girls.
Fixed it for you .
19. Any prospective buyers are advised to check the Guidelines to ensure that they are happy to purchase from a new member. Also to the seller - you can upload pics to http://www.imageshack.us/ if you are unable to do so here, without images people are likely to ignore your post.
20. Squier Bronco in Torino Red for £110 (in 2002). What a piece of junk.
21. Yeah definately Bass Central - their level of stock is crazy, the website is great for bass pr0n too.
22. I love the contrasting shades in the red, i'd go for that.
23. I can see how many new members/new topics/posts/views and private messages there have been in any given time period, but alas not filter by subforum.
24. This isn't meant to be a scientific survey - just to give an indicator of what peoples usage is. Of course some of the options people could opt to vote more than once on, but that wouldn't tell us how many members had voted. I'll add some N/As.
