1. If you have Band in a Box then here is a good source of files.
2. When I asked this question last year the two that came up (and were great at building confidence) were Peggy Lee - Fever Sting - Moon over Bourbon Street Actually, I dont think I have progressed much beyond that level
3. Not a huge fan of the Warwick headstock either, always looks like its wilted to me ! That bass does look and sound rather nice tho, I could probably live with the headstock.
4. What a fool I've been ! A Tone Skull is just what I need to transform my playing from 'seriously incompetent' to 'can plod on roots at 20bpm' Anyone got an Ebay link ? Actually I doubt there is any magic powerful enough for that tranformation
5. +1 to all the other comments, now a happy owner of his unwanted Stentor DB
6.
300 thread views and no comments? Is there no love for Stentors?
There is love here Just need to start priming 'er indoors about a possible addition to the family..... Then sell my Stagg... So I'm watching and thinking hard about making an offer. The fact that you are only a few miles away makes it even more tempting.
7.
plus the one. let's all point and laugh eh ?
I think its more his curious photography, certainly no 'point and laugh'. To his credit he seems genuine enough with his descriptions, its simply his apparent need to get in the picture when he sells something that I find a little odd.
8.
Only 4 strings :-(
We will have none of those stringist comments in here young man ! Simply because a bass is challenged in the string department doesn't mean it is not capable of functioning normally. I believe a certain Mr. Hitler held similar views and we all know what happened to him !
9.
I didn't even know Fender had that service; so maybe the route is "yeah, a dealer I know ordered one up from Fender but the guy never came back for it"....... 8 times!!!!
The trouble is that its relatively easy to produce waterslides using a normal inkjet printer. You could either create your own using a graphics package or scan/photo a genuine one and print out on waterslide paper. Not quite as easy as printing a photo on normal paper but not much more difficult. Seeing the 'professional' make over this bass has been subjected to, I am highly suspicious about his decal sales. Anyway, if someone is dumb enough to buy this belt sander butchery victim then they obviously have no taste or common sense so perhaps deserve to be relieved of some pennies.
10. Oh bolleaux ! I keep missing out on these entry levellers When you get bored of staring at it........
11. Maybe time for 'DB porn' thread
12. Keeping an eye on this, seeing if it comes off 'hold'
13. Too pretty not to risk a punt, let me know if you are going to bid so i dont end up bidding against you.
14. Lets see if anyone tops my £5
15. 'Bushy Bison' Isn't that an Ubuntu distro ? OK, thats my coat over there
16.
Now we just need to wait for a gig with a pissed stage and watch it roll away halfway thorugh the gig
Then have someone point you in the direction of castors with BRAKES (yeah they do exist)
17. Wow !! Didn't know there were two of these in the country ! This is mine here I can confirm the age, I bought mine new about 74/5 ish and confirm the wide range of tones available. Good luck with the sale, no way I would ever sell mine.
18. Bladerunner- I dont care for the Jarre/Vangelis synthpop sound but Vangelis caught the mood of the film brilliantly, the 'Love Scene' remains one of my all time favourite pieces. Platoon - Lots of good tracks but the standout is the use of Barbers Adaggio in the ambush scene, if the audio/visual combination doesnt move you then I question your right to refer to yourself as human
19. Local Crack Converters has a Spector Rebop 5 for £450. I dont know a massive amount about Spectors other than they seem to be good quality and have a lot of people saying good things about them. Is it a reasonable price for the model with EMGhz pups ? I fancy trying a 5 and this looks quite nice.
20. Open to offers ? OK, I will give you 50 sovs and I'm robbin meself blind at that price, honest guv.
21. I would have had this but didnt spot it, perhaps he doesn't understand the *bump* concept ?
22. Why do people refer to the jack socket as an input ?
23.
Dont buy these make without trying them out...they look pretty in the adds in the hand they feel cheap,,,,,Is this just my opinion.....youve been warned!!!
Looks gorgeous and the seller is just down the motorway for me so no probs with try-before-you-buy. Anybody know a shitkicker.... oops I mean country band that needs a bass ?
24. *BUMP IT UP* Not interested in the compressor but big thanks for the link to that site, very interesting reading.
25. Well I will have his LP if the big-assed bint comes as part of the deal Sneaking another guitar past 'er indoors is childs play compared to explaining that
