    The problem with the cover is not just that it isn’t very good - it’s actually embarrassing and will probably put people off. And - in the voice of Liz Truss - that’s a shame.

    I like this. The only thing that makes my teeth itch is that it looks like there is a black plastic truss access point at the headlock like the MIMs, etc. It cheapens the look of it slightly (IMO of course).

    Yep, I've got a 'burst Okamoto. Very nice bass. The basswood body is a non-issue. It might as well be alder.

    My amp's probably done c.200 gigs since the post above, and it hasn't skipped a beat. I don't expect to have to replace them any time soon.

    Well, it’s only the nitro that’s distressed. 50+ years of tab smoke, temperature changes, sweaty venues and scuffs will do that.

    Don't forget to go through the setup procedure each time (sorry if you already know this). And then... set the EQ to flat, pop that drive button in, set the feedback switch to the centre position, max the output gain, and brace yourself. What cab are you using?
