I think it's because she appeals to the people who used to buy their CDs as part of the weekly shop at Sainsbury's. The advertisers dream demographic.

Can't argue with the sales, but she's nothing more than a good singer (with annoying phrasing IMO) who can co-write a few tunes. She's hardly unique, but with that machine powering her along behind the curtains, she was never going to fail. Such is the music biz.

The previous incarnation of the Ibanez Promethean does the job for me, but good luck finding one...

I'm still not quite getting this. It does a lot of things, but IMO none are a problem waiting to be solved. £600 is a lot of scratch for a few vaguely useful (and not-so-useful) features. Good luck to 'em, though.

Has Smells Like Teen Spirit been mentioned? Played out of context, I reckon a significant proportion of non-musos would recognise that line.
