  1. Thank you Herr Direktor I'll give him a shout.
  2. Hi all, with our current 'church' setup we use a Roland CM30 multi input speaker with a female mike input, we send the signal via an Alto Zephyer mixer that also uses a female input from the mike. I can't seem to find any male to male XLR cables. I have been using quarter jacks but I prefer XLR for mike leads. Where can I buy them? Is there a reason no one sells them? thanks for any help.
  3. Some people just need a good stabbin'
  4. Just read through this only to find it's on hold, could you put that in the title please? then I won't waste my time ogling it. Thanks.
  5. @Howie, it is worse at the nut end but it's not choking, it rings out clearly and sustains well but it just sounds err thin when fretted. Open it has a funny phasing type sound, difficult to explain, I always adjust out any rattling as it grates on me. Are some strings better than others for tension? In my head I think a tighter string would resonate better than a 'floppy' one? I can't afford to buy lots and test them out... My head is 68 years old so it makes errors sometimes, my brain thinks I'm 24 which can be a problem.
  6. Thanks ET.
  7. Hiya, can someone explain about tension on strings please? I play mostly Precisions and I'm finding that the E string sounds a bit numb until I get up past the 7th fret, is this because the tension is too low? How do I know which strings are high and low? I currently use Ernie Ball slinkys 45-105 in the orange packet. I've never thought about string tension before and how it affects the sound. thanks.
  8. Personally I can't regard any 'reliced' instrument as good unless it had been genuinely worn by me over a lot of years. I own a 12 string jumbo guitar that I bought new in 1983 and it's quite unscathed but the neck is worn to my hand and I've never found another quite like it. I don't like the idea of a dirty grungy bass, I do like well cared for stuff as my occaisional adverts will testify.
  9. I have a Yamaha YS100, great 80's synth http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCMQtwIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dv37CUqvb8OQ&ei=cN2LVN_WCcb3UpOfgoAP&usg=AFQjCNFC7nsPWTmH-lj-F4X0CzvQZ-2kSQ&bvm=bv.81828268,d.d24 It's going for sale shortly.
  10. Ah well, rang my new friend at Gear FM and ordered another one exactly the same. Free saturday delivery too Also cheaper again, just £229 this time! winnar.... I can send it back FOC within 28 days for any reason. Great to deal with as they picked it up the same day that I rang them which is exceptional in my book. I'll report back, fingers crossed.
  11. Dunno Hugh, I really fell for it but I can't deal with rosewood fretboards, the SR500 is similar but no colour choice with maple. Not sure which way to jump.
  12. Ok so they collected it yesterday after asking me to spray the mid pot with switch cleaner, the pot is clearly sha**ed so it's gone back. I was a bit shocked at the shoddy soldering in the cavity so I'm not replacing it, just getting a refund. I'm really disappointed because I loved playing it. Bugger.
  13. Ok slight hitch, Plugged in last night and there is constant crackling, a bit like a faulty lead or jack socket. Changed basses and it stopped so there's summat wrong with it. Going to ring Gear for music when they open to test the CS. At the practice on tuesday my guitar playing wife said it sounded a bit 'off', as though it wasn't quite in tune but it was. Intonation is fine but the E string has a funny sort of resonance to it. Can't explain that though, Oh and I did put a new battery in but it's just the same. I picked up my P/J Lyte up and it felt really clunky after the Ibby. I'll post back soon.
  14. There are soft cases for Jumbo and dreadnought, knowing which it is will help. Stagg make a good range (I used to sell them)
  15. Hi, would that include postage to Teesside? Is there any warranty?
  16. I have the 15" combo version of this amp and it'll never be sold. As everyone has said they are amazing, 300w? nah more than that Someone here needs this.
  17. I've been looking at it for weeks, just grew on me so I had to have it. Only paid £233 with next day delivery as I'm a good customer Worth every penny.
  18. Mine's definately a keeper too.
  19. Arrived today from Gear for music, great firm to deal with. The bass: http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Ibanez-SR300M-Bass-Guitar-Soda-Blue-FREE-Pro-Gig-Bag/12OF?origin=product-ads&campaign=PLA+Shop+-+Ibanez&medium=vertical_search&network=google&adgroup=Ibanez+SR300M+Bass+Guitar.+Soda+Blue+FREE+Pro+Gig+Bag&merchant_id=1279443&product_id=50127d1&product_country=GB&product_partition_id=86005347679&gclid=CjwKEAiAhcGjBRDot_fjjtPKrgsSJACNYh760KrV-8OMNildTULbcG4cD58QDBuxPqzGvz2sRMiy5RoCCanw_wcB I've had one before and sold it which was a mistake, this one is probably the best setup bass I've ever seen, the neck is arrow straight and the action out of the box is unreal! very very low all the way up the neck with no rattles, Perfect! Such a light instrument too and the pickups are very loud and seem very versatile. I paid less for it as I've just bought an amp there, the gig bag is also top quality. This could well end up being my main bass Nothing to criticise at all.
  20. This must be the only warwick with a maple board, looks amazing. Really hope the money comes rolling back mate
  21. I've had several from Howard and they were all first class. I really hope and pray he's all right.
