1. While you were working all that out I got an electric drill and a jig saw and substantially reduced the weight of several of my basses.
 2.
PM sent. NS
And replied.
 3. This may be sold and is on hold at least in the short term. However potential buyers shouldn't hesitate to establish their position in case the pending sale falls through.
 4. OK, I just realised that there is one modification - Schaller strap-locks.
 5. Neck plate: Headstock front: Headstock back: Back of body: Bridge area: More pics later if I don't change my mind and put it on ebay for £550.
 6.
No mods while I had it - and none that I could detect from the previous owner(s).

Same here. I owned the bass before Martthebass, BTW.
Thanks guys. I think we can be fairly confident there are no mods except my replacement pickguard and that did not require any modifications to the bass itself - there are no extra screw holes. More pics later.
 7.
Hi ET, Can you post pictures of back of body, headstock (back and front), and neck fixing plate? Do you know if it has had any mods since new? Many thanks, Nick S
I'll try to get some more pics up later when I'm home from work - must find the camera. I'm not aware of any mods - I'm at least the third BC owner so maybe others can report on that.
 8. At this price I thought this would be on the move more quickly. I'll give it to the weekend then it's going on ebay. ... and bump.
 9.
I do like the look of that - will have to check my bank balance (though perhaps not checking would be a better bet!) And you're in Brighton...
Well, check that balance man .... and you can even try out the bass first.
 10.
I've no doubt you could get £575 for it, if not more, especially if it's a good'un. I guess if anyone out there needs a decent fretless Jazz, this is a serious bargain.
I did see one go for close to £600 on ebay recently but I'll settle for getting back from BC most of what I paid for it on BC. But if no one hurries up and buys it soon it will be on ebay next week.
 11.
But of course you've got the fretless Precision thing sorted now anyway
I certainly have.
 12.
Man that's an awesome price
Chris, do you think I should do a price increase? The price is, I think, slightly below the figure at which it was valued in the trade I did with Martthebass and I'm including postage - although I'd prefer a bank transfer rather than Paypal. This is a bargain. C'mon guys, grab it now!!!!
 13.
Who, GreeneKing or Elvis ? .
Both, of course. I read somewhere McCartney has the Elvis bass now so he's in the good company of Peter too. Well done.
 14.
I owned this bass at one time. It really is fantastic. Good luck with the sale.

This is one very nice sounding Fretless - if I had the cash I would happily have it back, you've certainly definitely priced it to sell! One day, when I've got bored with 5 strings I'll no doubt have another. As Dave says, the bass looks in excellent nick, I'm sure the minor scratches would come out easily with a bit of T-Cut - I just never got around to it.
Thanks guys. It is a great bass and I'm sure it would sing with a set of rounds for those who are into that sort of thing. Me, I'm more a P bass kind of guy and hence this going and being replaced by a fretless P. And those scratches are very small and not noticeable without looking for them.
 15. The listing(s) say: "One of the shortcomings of this guitar (as it was with the original Guild) was the rather weedy DeArmond Gold pickups used. Sad that Guild did not take the opportunity to upgrade the pickups when they re-issued it. However, an American company called Hammon Engineering came to the rescue by designing and making some awesome Humbucking pickups as a direct replacement for the DeArmond Gold pickups." This is not quite correct - as I'm sure many know. The original Guild Starfire had Hagstrom Bisonic single coil pickups which were replaced around 1971 by the goldtone humbuckers. Both the De Armond and Guild reissues had the humbuckers. The Hammon Dark Star is a re-engineered version of the original Hagstrom Bisonic single coil pickup.
 16. I've got one of these in Translucent Amber and Rosewood. Lovely bass. Have a bump on me.
 17. Congratulations Peter, everyone needs a P at some time.
 18.
God i would love this, but it would mean getting rid of an existing bass as im skint, big bump for a gorgeous bass, from a top fella, deal with confidence - lee
Thanks Lee. You could probably tempt me with the fiesta red P if I really needed another P which I don't - I do keep fancying a Pino Palladino custom shop job..... ....and bump
 19.
This was pretty pointless once I'd answered No to the first question.
Agreed - I take it you meant the second question - no to effects pedals.. To OP: Many of your questions make assumptions and/or miss out possible answers. Your survey has very limited reliability and validity.
 20.
Which shop was that? Or can I guess it was the same one where I get the same sort of looks
I couldn't possibly say where because I have also had great service in there - especially when they've seen the colour of my money. But I am sure you know.
