1. My second deal with Lee - I sold him a Fender Jazz for immediate payment. Great communication, all straightforward, top man, and my packing was a good as his when he sold me the WAV4. Everyone was happy.
 2.
Ive just had the pleasure of dealing with Dave for the second time!!! Ive just bought his lovely MIA fretless fender jazz, for a very good price i might add arrived exactly when i requested and was expertly packed and sent in a lovely posh hardcase, he even threw in a spare scratchplate (will keep the nice tort one though) a great bloke to deal with and chat too, and will happily deal with again. thankyou Dave your a gentleman!! cheers - lee
Thanks Lee, I hope it lives up to expectations.
 3. This must have been very depressing and perhaps still is. Good luck with sorting it out.
 4.
the missing saddle has been replaced by a wedged in rawlplug.none of your badass ponciness here!!
The original Fender bridge saddles were like rawlplugs - maye that's what you've got.
 5.
Can I call dibs?
Hey, I was first mate!!! But actually I have other plans for my £50 so I wave my traditional British right of queue leader.
 6.
and the shadows
and The Beatles, and The Jam, and absolutely loads of others.
 7. At £50 I'll have it if you don't want it.
 8.
Officially withdrawn, just can't do it.
Correct decision. Well done. Carry on.
 9.
For 'worst-ever' service experience, I could recount certain events at a tea-shop in Kent.... ...but I won't.
You're such a tease.
 10.
Let's drop it now, OK?
Please don't.
 11.
i thought this was a bit of a spoof thread but i can explain
Sorry, that was my fault.
 12.
Got an old Fender Mustang not too long ago; im not sure if i like it yet or not tbh; This seems to be the right thread to piggyback the question of:- what would be the best strings to put on it so its got a similar tension to a 34 scale with 100's or 105's on it. Roto only make sets with a 95 E string- just doesnt feel right to me.
I'd have a set of Thomastik Jazz Flats (JF324) on it before you could say E .106 but from the sound of it their low tension is not what you are looking for. If you're after roundwounds I haven't got the slightest idea. Sorry.
 13.
I keep thinking it'd be cool to put a japanese mustang neck on a firebird guitar body. Either get a luthier to make one or buy a warmoth firebird body unrouted & route it for bass, possibly setting the neck a bit further back than the stock route to make a perfect mini fenderbird.
Now you're talking!!
 14.
Oh, that Lakland is soooo gorgeous  Any idea when the Lakland shortie will be available? *shuffles off to empty piggie bank* oh no, just found this Talkbass Lakland shortie thread *puts coppers back into piggie bank*
US model only for the moment, sorry to get your hopes up. Skyline version I guess if they get enough interest but it will still be £1200 or so by the time it's in the UK. I'd like to see a short scale 30" Decade Bass VI.
 15.
Hi and thanks for the help - I'm just amazed you could even attempt to analyse the dot positioning from my cr*p photos!
Photos were fine, my analysis was cr*p.
 16. Here's the shortscale 30" Lakland Decade prototype sitting next to Pino Palladino's 34" Decade: And the Lakland home page says the short scale is 'coming soon'.
 17.
you are a brave man..i had dots on all the 'frets'
That's a very good idea.
and if i ever get courage enough to use a fretless it will have to be lined
That's what I thought. It may be what some of the audience think too but at least I'm fooling the rest of the band. Playing fretless has made me listen differently - even with lines but even more so without them.
 18.
Forgot to mention - I asked Howard The Bass Doc to add a dot on the 1st fret. It's a simple, great little idea I nicked from the Tony Franklin P. What a difference it makes...
+1 on the first fret dot.
 19.
FWIW, I remember hearing Dave's TF at a gig in May and it sounded absolutely glorious, so I assume Legion's will do too...
Thanks Nik. FWIW, that would probably have been the TF, P pickup only, treble mostly rolled off, Markbass LMII with EQ flat and perhaps VPF at about 11 o'clock, through two Ashdown 1x15"s and my fingers over the P pickup. Whoever gets this, I really don't think you would be disappointed; I've even thought about trying to find the fretted version to pair with mine.
 20.
On the dot markers - I've measured carefully, and it appears that the markers are 'between the line' - thanks for all the advice and highly informed comment
Hey, Loz, I'm wrong then - so much for my forensic skills!!
 21.
As soon as I select it, my Markbass speaker seems to be poundng and working overtime, even at practice levels! - but it does sound great!
You need to lower the gain on the amp and increase the master volume. Unless you want the pounding sound you describe.
 22.
Bah, I dont think any real bassist plays for the sole purpose of money.
Hey, I know you say 'sole purpose' (which could still be questionable) but your use of 'real' (especially with the bold emphasis) opens a bit of a hornet's nest. I'd say what makes someone a bassist is whether that someone plays bass (whatever that is) and whether you get paid or not has nothing to do with it. How about that?
 23. I played my TF at three gigs this week - it does 'deep'. That's why I bought it to replace a fretless Jazz which was lovely and sounded great but didn't do 'deep' in the way I was looking for. It's fretless Fender heaven around here at the moment.
 24.
It's because it's on the other side.
