  1. https://guitar.com/news/gear-news/bill-wyman-fender-mustang-bass/ Price: $384,000 The 1969 Fender Mustang, played by Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman recently broke records for the highest price tag on a bass when sold at auction in early September 2020. (Of course, this was nearly a year ago.)
  2. I have no need to try one becatuse some acoustic basses can do the upright sound...and more, much more. Eight years and I still haven't found an acoustic bass as versatile as mine. More versatile than quite a few solid-body basses, in fact. (By the way, I have three of them. Why? Because they're that damned good!)
  3. Reverend makes some great basses. My Thundergun is right up there with my USA-made L2000s. I only wish it had Luminlay side markers!
  4. Harley Benton.
  5. Almost too nice to play!
  6. You haven't considered parting it out?
  7. I hope everyone putting down the headstock realizes that months of careful planning went into that design and nearly two dozen equally questionable headstocks were rejected.
  8. Haven't been to the studio in so long. Just dug this up and couldn't quite hear the bass. Then I remembered...headphones, duh!
  9. Well, the color's nice, other than that...pass! I guess another jazz bass in a world inundated with jazz basses can't hurt, though.
  10. Nut Width 1 1/2", 1 5/8" and 1 3/4 Neck radius 7 1/2", 9 1/2" and 12"

How is something like that even possible? Sounds like a nightmare!
  12. Saw the same thing several times here. Wasn't sure if people were joking or actually didn't know. Hard to tell if people were L2000 users or if they'd merely tried them out once at this or that store. Some might be unaware they can go fully passive.
  13. Old-school tones aren't possible with the L2000? Of course they are, you just have to switch to passive mode. Oh, yeah...GHS black tapewounds!
  14. Perfect choice...immeasurably nicer than the old ones.
  15. It's possible it will ruin it cosmetically.
  16. Top-notch quality, very smooth neck, great tone...the Turbo Switch is a nice feature, too.

  17. He's talking about a specific cosmetic mod that might very well ruin the bass.
  18. I would've been happy with that one. Hard to pick a favorite among these..
  19. I'm talking about the older models with the Aphex System electronics...Aural Exciter and Big-Bottom Sound. There's a good reason I have three...they're that damned good! If there's a more versatile acoustic bass, I have yet to find it. By the way, I believe in the MTV Unplugged school of thought...plug in!
  20. D'Addario black tapewounds on my three Dean Exotica acoustic basses. Tapewounds or flatwounds are the only way to go! Good luck...with playing it, that is. I seriously doubt you'll be able to mod it.
  21. I really like the white Tributes with the matching headstocks and the Trans orange ones with the maple fretboards. TheJapanese ones, are even nicer. First G&L I ever played was a L2000 Tribute. Liked it so much I found a new one for the ridiculous price of $500. Played it for three or four months before finding a nice USA-made one and never even noticed the neck was slightly wider.
  22. Thanks, I didn't know that.
  23. Sounds like me! Still, nearly every time I post a pic without naming the bass, people say "Wow, what's that?"
  24. Reverend Thundergun. Passive, pure and potent!
