Last bass I bought, just four months ago, was a Squier CV Jazz bass...Crafted In China 2015. $500! Yes, more than a brand new one. Sure, I could've bought an MIM for twice as much, the Vinteras aren't bad, but I wanted a great bass, not just a good one...and knowing what I know now, I would've gladly paid $600 for it! Fantastic Jazz bass! Other than that, I wasn't aware Squier was selling any factory-special-run basses. It is new, right?

The D'Addarios sound fantastic on my CV...decided to go with them just for the hell of it, I have them on two Dean Exotica acoustic basses and they're perfect...but GHS black tapewounds are my favorites. I have them on five basses, and if I ever buy another bass, I already have a set waiting. Smooth as silk and more...dynamic than any flatwound or tapewound strings I've tried, including Ernie Ball Cobalts and TI flats.

Well, as long as you keep the headstock pointed up instead of down, no problem at all! Seriously though, it definitely helps to use a strap while sitting, no matter the bass...a Thunderbird, a Hofner, an acoustic bass, etc.

True enough, but I don't think such a site exists!

The double humbucker model with coil tapping? Somewhat versatile. Quite a few basses out there that are morseo. Sorry, completely off the radar, and I'm a guy who doesn't just stick to P or J basses. Not worth the drive. (Looks good, though.)

D'Addario black tapewounds on the Classic Vibe, GHS black tapewounds on the Italia and Fender Custom Light flatwounds on the Bacchus.
-
Well, they're not exactly cheap. I'd suggest this at half the price.

Macro photo of gelatinous slime.....plasmodial zycogastria, caused by hyperhidrosis. Sure, it makes sliding much easier, but it will negatively effect your tone!
-
Nicest one I've seen...tort definitely puts it over the top!

Was he the same one who was always talking about how Hitler loved children and his dog?

Whatever it is, it's beyond ugly.

A little bass line I was working on before everything fell apart...forgot I'd even recorded it. (Headphones or earbuds are recommended, of course.) https://youtu.be/ZUIKUAYND6E (Yeah, acoustic basses are good for nothing, right?)

Funny, but I posted this maybe half an hour ago at Talkbass. "I can’t get no, satisfaction." ○ Well, I can, but how about you? I have ten basses. From my least expensive to my most expensive, I'm completely satisfied. No need to change pickups, no need to change the preamp or add one, no need for a different neck, etc. Sure, I put on my favorite strings, but who doesn't? Not just here but on other boards, I constantly see people who feel the need to make their bass better. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. So, who here is constantly searching for the perfect bass, either buying and selling again and again, modding what they have, or building their own "perfect" bass? And who will never achieve a state of bass bliss?

Bit of a gamble with the '70s Fenders. Will you get one of the good ones or one of the bad ones? Just guessing, but I'm betting there are more bad ones for sale. I'm no fan of Fender, but if I saw this one hanging up tomorrow at Guitar Center or Sam Ash, I just might buy it. (By the way, if you've wanted a Fender for years, I'm not going to suggest you buy a G&L, Lakland, Sadowsky, etc, etc, etc. Buy a Frnder!)

Is Jeff berlin a brilliant salesman, or is the cort rithimic a great bass?

Did you buy the bass? -

I used to wonder the same thing about the Thundergun...a great bass in the hands of a great bassist. Then, when I bought one, I realized it's a great bass that can make any bassist better. Are you going to buy the Cort and see if the same thing applies to you? -
Or Fred Flintstone. Regardless, I have a feeling you're talking Fender Journeyman prices. Bit of a gamble, yes?

Anyone play a Fender American De Luxe Zone active bass?

You're welcome. Amazing basses. -
