  1. You're welcome. Not my own idea but they stopped making these four or five years ago, so..
  2. As for neck dive, easily solved with some golfer's tape and a seat-belt pad.
  3. Sure, EB-0, EB-3...Gibsons, Epiphones too. Even this, which I once considered buying.
  4. Just what do you like about them?
  5. Yes, I never understood why sometimes certain bass makers neglect the top fret.
  6. I guess I'll just have to be content with these.
  7. Not exactly cheap, custom shop, but it's still listed on Reverb for $2,399...$400 price drop. With the problems I've heard people having ordering basses and being told they might have to wait until summer, I'm surprised this isn't gone. Good thing I still can't afford it, though.
  8. Of course. I'd just posted a pic of a very nice USA Kiloton in the "Single pickup passive non-Precision basses" thread and I must've been thinking of that. Old age strikes again!
  9. The one with piezo? Go for it!
  10. Only problem I have with mine is I find myself using it more and more each day, early in the morning and late at night. Very surprised with the rich tone and I've yet to play with the different amp models or effects, just playing along to whatever I have on my ipod, including my band's material, is worth every penny! (Especially since I went with play now, pay later.) Sounds good with my L2000s, my Reverend Thundergun, my Italia Imola, my CV Jazz, my Bacchus Woodline, and my Dean Exotica acoustic basses. What more can anyone ask for?
  11. Kiloton’s single MFD bucker fires without the aid of a preamp, while a 3-position series/split/parallel toggle harnesses the coils’ power. Simple volume and tone controls are devastatingly effective, revealing a wide range of textures Leo’s MFD bucker is famous for. What’s more, Kiloton is armed with a 6-bolt neck and Leo Fender-designed Saddle-Lock™ bridge to transfer all the energy right into the body end-grain for an incredibly resonant instrument.
  12. You won't find better than this. Passive but very potent. G&L is always the answer.
  13. 30...count 'em...30!
  14. Why ruin your bass, that looks ridiculous, when there are simple solutions? Golfer's tape and a seat-belt cushion.
  15. Thanks. Hard to pick a favorite.
  16. Well, if it plays and sounds as good as it looks, you've really got something!

  18. Last bass I bought, just four months ago, was a Squier CV Jazz bass...Crafted In China 2015. $500! Yes, more than a brand new one. Sure, I could've bought an MIM for twice as much, the Vinteras aren't bad, but I wanted a great bass, not just a good one...and knowing what I know now, I would've gladly paid $600 for it! Fantastic Jazz bass! Other than that, I wasn't aware Squier was selling any factory-special-run basses. It is new, right?
  19. Half of them.
  20. The D'Addarios sound fantastic on my CV...decided to go with them just for the hell of it, I have them on two Dean Exotica acoustic basses and they're perfect...but GHS black tapewounds are my favorites. I have them on five basses, and if I ever buy another bass, I already have a set waiting. Smooth as silk and more...dynamic than any flatwound or tapewound strings I've tried, including Ernie Ball Cobalts and TI flats.

    Bongo to try?

Well, as long as you keep the headstock pointed up instead of down, no problem at all! Seriously though, it definitely helps to use a strap while sitting, no matter the bass...a Thunderbird, a Hofner, an acoustic bass, etc.
  22. True enough, but I don't think such a site exists!
  23. The double humbucker model with coil tapping? Somewhat versatile. Quite a few basses out there that are morseo. Sorry, completely off the radar, and I'm a guy who doesn't just stick to P or J basses. Not worth the drive. (Looks good, though.)
  24. D'Addario black tapewounds on the Classic Vibe, GHS black tapewounds on the Italia and Fender Custom Light flatwounds on the Bacchus.
  25. Well, they're not exactly cheap. I'd suggest this at half the price.
