30+ years for me... If I'd practised constantly I'd probably be pretty good, especially if I'd practised things that I'm weak at. However, being lazy, I practised what I could do and forgot about the rest. Luckily, I don't do covers as such, which means I don't have to try and play like Pino, or The Ox or whatever which means I've stuck with being lazy!

Like it - reminds me of my youth Anyway,I'd say it just needs a bit of thickening up at the bottom end. In other words make the bass, snare, and bass drum deeper and wider. Perhaps double up the bass tracks, pan them out a bit and put different compression on each, one with more bass boost...

Or use something like "Mike the Drummer", which has thousands of drum clips, fills etc for every occasion. It just means a bit of editing... Though I'm tending to tap out drums now using my keyboard's pads. As for the Wal, I used my ancient one with an XLR cable straight into my Focusrite so it's just Wal electronics plus VST compression. Serious heavy bass tone!

I've recorded my "singing"... And this month it's not free-form, but does have a wah bass solo!

I'll bet I could produce a nice catchy tune for 'em! I think it would feature a nuclear siren solo and vocals by my dogs...

Funnily enough I like Weather Report, and I'm a fan of Steve Coleman and Mahavishnu. But somehow I'm in 2 minds about the Snarkys. They seem to be lacking in edge - I'd prefer their [i]cojones [/i]to be hanging out a little bit more!
