1. Luckily it has the 21st fret to manage that line, sounds extremely punchy in the clip but it was much smoother in person, I think the dictophone mic is receiving too much input. The bass has a very high output but the pickups are beautifully quiet. I'll make some more rock style clips soon.
2. Replied . This has to be one of, if not THE best bargain on the BC market...
3. *sigh* £565? this has to be the best deal on the market unless I've missed something.
4. Can I ask why its called the 'Pub bass'? Or is it just a nickname?
5. Lovely slap tone especially, very crisp . I've alway found maple boards to be too jazz/funk orientated for me as well, if it had a rosewood board I reckon you'd be sorted. If your looking for 60's/70's rock I got what ya need!!
6. Makes me wanna play guitar. The bassist just keeps pulling the open G over and over and over. Slap bores me 80% of the time.
7. Poor quality sound clips will be continually added until sale using my Olympus dictaphone lol. All recording will be created from a Genz Benz 750 set to flat on the clean channel and involve changes solely from the Hoyer's gibson electronic circuit. No pedals included. Hopefully it will give you an impression of the aggressive thump and growl of the bass. Vintage vibrations ). Apologies for poor playing and random inaccurate licks.
8. It has a bridge humbucker setting for fingerstyle funk

10.
bah i want this totally can't afford it at the minute though unless your intrested in obtaining some amps? ;o
Guitar amps would tempt me a lil I guess but I'm completely sorted for Bass amps with my new Genz Benz
11. Really appreciated Al's business, he paid the quickest so far without a single hitch, not that I expected there to be one. He was very kind and understanding with lightning quick PM responses. I wouldn't think twice about dealing with him in the future, maybe next time I'll be buying! Hope the arm gets better soon and thanks again!
12. Tis lovely, I can get a lot out of my two pickup version but yours must do the lot! The blocks are great to look at, I took mine to Cardiff Guitars and the owner loved it, says he has a collection of his own! I'm tempted to start collecting myself but probably need something like an MIA jazz to begin with. Do you gig both??
13. Any found my missing £400?? All Bob's stuff is mint condition, buy with confidence.
14. I'd also like to point out, I had a guitar teacher of 55 years young and he owned 130 guitars/basses/mandolins/bazoukis etc and he bought another flat to house them...
15. 15 by the age of 21 and after 5 years of playing. I'm keeping one. I may have a problem.
16.
MB1. ...Your hands are definately too small for this!
Haha thats what I'll keep tellin myself Marty...the guy who owns its called Oliver too!! Salt in the wound
17. Hit me with trades and PXs too or it'll be on Ebay. Fantastic bass - but I don't have hands big enough for a five string I guess, unless its really tight at the nut and has 24 frets - as I say small hands .
18. Jeebus, whoever buys this I hate them.
19. I've just found Jaco's honky Jazz tone fiddling about with the volume and tone controls when switched to the the bridge position. Consider it withdrawn, its a keeper. 1st one!! Also Hoyer's new line is coming out soon so value might go up, I intend to buy a new model - I suggest you do too.
20.
So do I, but I still have a hankering for this, which would give me red & green L2500's. They are such great basses and do sound so good. Now then, a few weeks working from home and saving £70 diesel a week...........hmmmmmmmm
Can't think of a better backup to compliment a red fretted G&L L2500 than a fretless green and ebony of the same model . All the finishes on the USA's are so varied!! Would be keen to see piccies
