1. I bought an Unbranded Japanese Jazz Copy from Paddy, securely packaged, quickly sent, fantastic condition + case and extras. I'll keep my eye on his sales in the future and can't wait to deal with him again. Proper gentleman. Thanks again
2. Withdrawn for ebay.
3. Is there any demand for one of these at the moment? Lil apprehensive, only up as my Kubicki won't sell, but need a new laptop plus £250 quids worth of Uni books: My High Quality 1985 Goodfellow Classic Custom, Serial no. 0030 and checked with Bernie Goodfellow to be an original. Has the looks, playability and tone. Looks like what the GB Rumour model was based on. The bass has a quilted maple top and spalted/quilted maple back, with a slab of walnut in between bound by mahogany. The neck is 34" five piece mahogany/maple with a 21 frets ebony fingerboard, bound again by mahogany which carries on to cover the headstock. The bass has custom Goodfellow Gold hardware with his surname engraved into the bridge and 'classic' upon the truss rod cover. The bass has 'g' engraved into the machineheads and has messacre ebony tuning pegs. The headstock bears the 'G' symbol and has 'made in England' underneath. The pickups are kent armstrong custom wound with wooden ebony covers boasting a thumb groove for easy playing. 5 rotary knobs : Volume, bass, mid, treb and pickups balancer. Active bass requiring two batteries for its silly amount of power (i only use it up halfway tops) and ability to switch to passive. Can play anything, very versatile. Recently setup by Cardiff Guitars: relubricated, electronics cleaned, action set low with no bend in the neck etc. ALSO!! Don't ask me about string spacing as its adjustable, just screw the grooves round, widen it up for slap and narrow it down for fingerstyle. Comes with hardshell professional plush hardshell protec case case, as made for orchestra instruments and a custom made John Edwards leathercraft polished brass engraved buckle strap. Seen these go for anything from £800 to £1500. No Longer for sale but will consider all trades.
4. I keep snooping at this project, looks flawless! Dont understand why you would want to separate it. Get it played man!
5. Killing me to watch this go.
6. God, I'd love an RR24. Recently picked up an 80s Jackson Charvel Star, flawless. Fantastic guitars Jackson, both ESP and them have really surprised me. If your gibson-enthusiast guitar teacher says their no better than a cricket bat...THEIR WRONG!! Bump!
7. Classic piece of Mojo there, especially with the old roadworn flightcase. Funny when you think the local music store are charging £900 for one of these new when you can have the 'real deal!' (cue David Dickinson) for the same price.
8.
Have a Bump matey I'm guessing that's not you and this bass in the clip?
Nah lol, thats not me! I'm a skinny white guy. The sound in that clip i'm guessing its the passive jazz tone, if its the active- that boy needs a new amp. Should be much more dynamic, unfortunately this was the only key factor soundclip I can find, it has the same tone and electronics as the Ex factor.
9. Dang, was just up in Edinburgh for the fringe festival last week.
10.
Hello mate Think im going a lil nuts here ! Is it a 4 banger as in the pics ? or a 5 as in the yt vid ? Just to clarify as i was all discombobulated by string counting ... Gary v8
Hi Gary, its a good ole four string P.s Love the Charvel Star basses, I've just got an 80s version of the guitar!!!
11. Seen em go on ebay for £800. Any trades/px/cash offers in the Cardiff region?
12.
just tried to watch the youtube clip, and it told me 'The URL contained a malformed video ID.' so it didn't work. you might want to correct that. sweet looking bass though.
Hi Zach, sorry about that, I'll look into amending it. (DONE!)

15. Looking for trades/part exchange in the Cardiff area with cash either way. I'd prefer to downgrade but send me a PM regardless if your interested.

17. Hi Basschatters, I need help! (again). I recently purchased a Guitar off of ebay and the cases locks had been forcibly damaged and no longer works! Nor does it have keys (surprise surprise, this was not mentioned in the item description). The case is molded to the rare 1980s Charvel-Jackson Star (with graphic) which I now own so a replacement is impossible. My question is: Where would I go to get the locks on the case changed for a new set?? I can only think of a locksmith, but i think it's a little bit more specialist. If anyone has a better idea please tell me! Cheers Oli Matt
18. The Judas Priest guys have just started using these, I saw them play em like 5 months ago or so. Incredible sound, can cover anything.
19. Just to note. PMs will not be replied to after the 12th for two weeks as I will be away.

21. I lurve sunburst
22.
For the Glam Rock route you wish in sound the DiMarzio Model P should do well. There's the Will Power which I use, but that's more super hot output foe metal / hard rock etc etc. The Seymour Duncan Basslines 1/4 pound Split-P is another good choice. What's the other pickup style?
They're both Precision style pickups. I'm thinking the hard rock willpower, but I've only ever heard them with a maple fingerboard. I prefer rosewood don't know why, warmer tone I guess.
23. Hi Basschatters, I'm in the middle of considering which precision pickups to put in my Charvel Star Bass, in both middle and bridge positions. I've had some great advice from Kongo already with regard to the middle pickup but I've never seen a precision pickup at the bridge before - gives a crisp punchy treble sound to the bass. The bass currently has seymour duncan hotrods for a standard rock sound, what would you recommend as replacement? Cheers Oli
