1. I really enjoyed playing a cort a6 which I should have never sold. However it really bugged my shoulder!! I never weighed it, but I was just wondering what is the lightest 6 string for the small guys?
2. Only way to improve that is a new tortoise shell pickguard. Absolute blinder, don't how you get your basses to shine so much more than mine
3. I don't understand why this has a natural maple top i've never seen one before. I though DC stands for double cut?
4. That looks a stonker! I do love the paisley finish, for men with big cojones. Really nice figuring on the neck too. I didn't know of a Fender Japan Custom shop till this. The single coil P basses have a real something tonewise I can't put my finger on. Thanks for putting up the pics!
5.
Well, offer stands...
Duly noted. And a fantastic offer it is too!
6.
I'm not 100% on what you mean Oli?
Just that I canni afford the extra work i'd want to do to it, unless the ESP goes and I decide to stick with bass permanently. I love the jazz setup when its fretless, it probably tops the precision tone.
7.
Bravewood?
BUMP! For something as nice as that you'd be looking for an overwater defret/setup which cost me £140 on a Cort A4! And that was before they raised their prices
8. If I had this i'd defret it and it'd be incredible, not that it isn't already!!
9. They have a flawless B string, but make sure your used to the 35" scale first! I had no problem with it but its definately essential for tension and clarity. I had a 4 string USA Cirrus and it played anything I wanted it to.
10.
MB1. Devina (i want rich and nourished blonde hair?) Mcall?
Haha that'd be the beaky moo, hangin around like a bad smell it seems - thought she'd disappear along with Big Brother, whatta dreamer!
11. I like to see the grain through the paint (sunburst), or I also like the relic'd thing. If its a nice wood its awesome (e.g. Poplar) but natural Alder or Ash to me looks cheap and uncomplete. I also don't like pale wood basses but thats personal preference
12. Reason I bought my Tele bass because of the Jethro Tull one, tone!!!
13.
ugh - Unwanted GAS. Thanks f*ck I'm skint
I know the feeling but its a good'un - a first rate vintage style precision without the baggage. It'll quickly become anyones flagship bass even a Jazzer.
14. Gonna go for a sale now at £1100, justification for price above - firm and non negotiable. In no hurry to sell. Just giving it another review: The bass holds its own at really high volumes, no boxey bolt on break up. Unbelievably solid and resonant with fantastic sustain (without foam) - Really does sound like a piano on every note. The only thing anyone could criticize this bass for is whether or not you like the realistic worn finish...helps the tone/playability a lot though
15. PM's replied - Fretless basses involving at least one jazz pickup are the only bass trades i'd consider. Primarily looking for guitar gear only.
16. Muhahaha! No!! No! I really didn't - I swear on Devina McCall's life
17.
I'm dancing in front of the mirror with it in my tighty whiteys
I was just messing the bass has not been defiled in any way...
18. This is the ideal jump from a beginner bass up, surprised it hasn't gone
19. I do love bolt ons , bolt on guitars too! Thats a brilliant facing
20.
I think the Fender in the title is a bit misleading as we have seen in previous threads though. As this aint a Fender, can you really tout it as one even though you have the (bravewood custom) at the end? Would it not be 'Bravewood custom 56 telecaster precision bass (fender replica)'.
Title amended
21.
I wasn't aware that he put Fender decals on in the first place. My Bravewood had the decal applied by the first owner, and it's a waterslide placed over the varnish. First time I need to do any work on that bass, the decal comes off. It's not a Fender, so why have "Fender" on the headstock?
Oops! I'm gonna get myself lynched in a minute , there was no decal originally I guess as its not on it in the 'finished article' part of the site. I'm thinking the original owner prior to me added it also, did a cracking job then!! True...I kinda like the decal though lol looks original when I'm dancing in front of the mirror with it in my tighty whiteys
